Good luck. My cousin bought a farm and has three horses. When my mom was dying in the hospital, she was trapped there because no one could take care of her horses, so she couldn't leave to say her good byes to my mom. Farms are great if you never leave them, but if you want to go travel to places even for a day, you need to find help. At least on a boat you can get that help when needed.

You need no-climb fence on the inside of the goat pen and the pen needs to be bigger. Lock them up at night to protect them from predators. You'll also need fence nails and a paint roller. Turtle or tortoise? Tortoises live on land, turtles require water.

Get a couple of donkeys and you don’t have to worry about predators! They are amazing!

I did, moving forward I think you should start a small daily vlog Mon-Fri of about 20-30mins with a super vlog on a Monday around 45-60mins of just general life, farm work and family shenanigans.
Would be a great way to record the family growing up and the farm developments.
Still love the vlogs and still miss the MM @@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER

Great content! While I came for the boat life stuff, I'm enjoying watching you step into your new journey. Thank you for admitting that you don't know what you're doing. The fact is, you are putting forth the effort alongside your children to learn as you go and figure things out. Maybe mistakes are made, but this is how you learn. It's truly remarkable to watch. Thank you for sharing!!

I have lived Rural for many years. We have a creek that runs through our land. Also a good sized pond. The pond has fish and the turtles come out and go lay their eggs every year. You must have water near you. Our driveway is a half mile long and in the spring we have to be very careful not to run over the turtles. They won't move so if you have one on your road just pick it up with both hands and definitely hold it way away from you....they get nervous and Pee every where.....wash your hands after carrying them. I always have gloves in my truck and on the tractor.....and yes if you don't hold them right they may bite....

No mean comments lots of horse memories coming back. All my horse stuff was big cattle ranch quarter horse stuff. My grandfather trained and sold them as a hobby I grew up basically having my own horse one of his that he really liked trained many yrs prior as a 1-3yr old, sold then many yrs later same family asked if he wanted big Dan back. 17 1/2 hands huge head all his gear had to be hand made nothing fit lol. I had big Dan for 8 yrs then he went on to another big cattle ranch. My current home we have a neighbor with Friesian horses trained for cattle work. They can’t handle the pen work given they can’t move like the Quarter Horse but the open range work they are great. Most have really great personalities calm and smart. I often see our neighbors tied up at the brewery in town mid week while neighbor gets a bite to eat.

Here in southeastern PA it’s hard to buy a small farm or any farm for that matter because you’re competing with the Amish. They’re wealthier than most know and have their own community banking. They bought some run down properties in my area and turned them into beautiful places. They’re also the people to hire for home construction projects

Hey just a tip on the deet mosquito spray its super toxic. You really only need to dab some on clothing spots like tops of your socks if in shorts, shirt sleeves, shirt collar, hat etc.
I cringe when people douse bare skin with it. I only use deet products its the only stuff that actually works. But you want to minimize direct skin contact especially on growing young kids.

Now that (big Duck) Emu’s along way from home 🇦🇺😂😂. We’ve just did a road trip in outback Queensland and saw heaps of Emu and chicks you have to be careful because the males look after the chicks and if he runs out in front of the cars on the road the rest of them follow they don’t have much road sense like other animals.
Enjoy your new life on your farm I think little Leo’s gonna have the best time growing up there he’ll know nothing but life on the farm as he gets older, and such a beautiful horse too. Take care❤

Your dream is my dream and I get to live through yours instead not having to do all the hard work involved. Excited for future farm adventures. Great job kids your very entertaining...Oh and work on the elevator music its a bit annoying.🤣🤣🤣

Remember it could cost a person almost as much to keep a horse as it cost to keep a boat... Also once you get a farm animal you no longer can just up and leave for any real length of time without finding someone to take care of them while your gone....
MOST OF ALL the best thing you can do for a turtle is leave it in a safe place in NATURE. Nature is where they will be free and happy.... I hope those ted bits of info help..

  • @uisguexjack

Interesting.... Wishing you luck and safe travels.... I have allot of experience with da boats and da farms and da horses. I very much recommend everyone learn Monty Robert's 'Join Up' with horses. I worked with horse for thirty years before learning that..... Changed everything big time. Did a week studying under him at his farm Flag is Up....
I've raised many hundred Suffolk sheep and I don't see how those fences you have are related to sheep... Those are horse fences.
Tractor Supply is a fantastic store.... I'm thinking of working there. However those three fence posts.... You need to find a mill... and get yourselves a reserve of a dozen or more 8' locust posts... White Oak would be the other choice. All the other stuff just does not last. Same for the fence boards.... get a reserve of at least a Dozen boards in White Oak.... nothing else will do. I milled all my own fence boards with an old Almish named Miller.... Used Red and White Oak out of our own woods. I was Ignorant of the White Oak being far superior...
I am very curious as to what the mettle thing is on the outside of the Chicken house.... Have never seen that before.
I live in the little house by the pond with the 35 year old stallion you can see.... He's having a rough week.

Too late apparently but those boxes could be recycled either by taking them to local recycle or grocery who recycle cardboard. or you could advertise in a local community forum and offer to anyone who needs them. When I moved, the previous owner gave me all their used boxes and then I gave them to other people who needed them.

Well, I have never seen a boat with a stable. But hey, you can always look. I don't think your daughter will want to leave her horse after 3 years to go boating again. Maybe the best thing is to find riding stables in your area. Will end up being easier to leave and possibly less expensive too. There is a lot to consider. Better you than me.
