I really enjoyed this video! I usually don't like "slower" videos because I just want the answer (lol downside to our tech culture), but I felt like I was just hanging out and experimenting with you and it was a pleasure. Did my own grinding alongside you. Thank you! ❤️
It is really boring video for sure. Some how I managed to make should be 5 minutes to 24minutes.
@@HoonsCoffee haha long but not boring! ☺️
*This replaced a smaller Keurig that I owned for 6 years **MyBest.Kitchen** I wanted the convenience of the water receptacle and while this unit is much larger than the previous one, I'm very happy with my purchase. The only downside to this larger model is having to move it from under the cabinets to place the pod and refill it. I was able to rectify this by purchasing glide mats for small appliances. Now, it's perfect!*
Thank-you so much for taking time and explaining all the nuances of the Barista Express. I have traveled to Australia numerous times and experienced excellent coffees and wanted to try them at home. Enter the Barista Express. After some months of muddling around and being angry with me purchase, you shown me a new and better way. And I report that I'm having great success! My long blacks are finally good!! Keep up the excellent work!!
I watched this today as I was having trouble getting a decent taste of coffee with my grind size, I went from 11 > 8 and it tastes so much better. Thank you 😀
Greetings from Colombia! Just bought the barista express machine and your channel as been extreeeeeeemely helpful.
You guys have some great beans in Colombia.
From another AZ resident, THANK YOU for this video! I greatly appreciate this walk through!
I purchased the Barista Express yesterday and am looking forward to my first cup in the morning...thanks for your videos - they are very helpful! CheersI
Enjoy! Where are you getting your beans from?
@@HoonsCoffee I bought a bag of beans at my local store. Dark roast 100% Arabica. Any suggestions? Thanks
Nice Video ...i bought the Barista Express Yesterday and now i See u Video 👍 grenzt from Germany
This was fun to watch. I like watching the grind size explanations and especially the tasting . i also like that it looks like my kitchen counter 😂. Thanks so much
You’re saving me with these videos, took me 18 double basket pulls to get the right grind. BTW. I’m new to this😂
You'll love making coffee at home! Next thing you should get is coffee roaster. Just got one last weekend. It's used one but works pretty good.
Chris Venter what setting did u use? Im half way thru my espresso beans bag & still cant get it
I feel u. Since I bought the machine my brother gave me extremely delicious guatamala coffee beans he bought from Turkey more than half the bag was wasted with dialing in the shot :(. The coffee tasted amazing but the bag was finished in one week.
Rain is rare here - shoutout from Phoenix! Thank you for your video. Still struggling to get a good time/range, but having fun.
Hoon-I really enjoy your videos and have binge-watched several of them while I have been waiting for my new Barista Express to arrive. I just got it yesterday and knew exactly what to do. The first shot that I pulled for a latte (using the single wall double basket) was right in the sweet spot for the pressure! I used the same beans and oat milk that I have been using for years with an older Breville machine and the first latte that I made tasted COMPLETELY different like it was made at a proper coffee shop. I didn’t even recognize the taste so clearly, I have not been extracting the full flavor from my beans all this time! My settings were 6 on the coarseness, 3 internal and 3 o’clock on the grind amount. Absolutely perfect! I am buzzing so hard right now from the strength of the shot. Lol Thank you for your great videos!
what is the internal grind size on? I just got mine today for xmas
I really like this channel....something about it that soothes me. Plus im waiting on my machine.
Thanks for sharing your process! Really helps with mine. I’ve been aiming for near the top of the espresso range on the gauge, which seems to produce the best results for me. Plus the timings come out more like what I expect
I just bought the machine today. Havent been able to pull a decent shot yet. Under brewing consistently. Thanks for the video! I need a scale!!!
majinraptor I had the same situation. I adjusted the grinder size under the bean stocking basket to the finest, and it works now with size 3 of the grinder on the left is the machine.
Fresh coffee 5-20 days after roasting provides the best pulls. The oils create more resistance and allow for fuller extraction and longer brewing times.
Thanks Hoon. I am using the Razor that came with the machine to reduce the level to the Breville recommended depth. With my tamping and the razor I have been getting the pressure to close to the middle of the pressure dial and the taste I like using the single wall basket. Going to go and try the same proceedure with the pressurised one to see the results.
I have been really enjoying the double wall. I get good shot every time.
@@HoonsCoffee I too managed a good shot with the double wall. Puck doesn't drop out like it does with the single.
@@garys639 I know. Maybe something to do with pressurized basket.
@@HoonsCoffee Pressurised basket won't allow the 3-way solenoid to extract the excess water at the end of the shot.
Wanted to help by giving a comment. I haven’t tried using my new Breville barista, but after watching your video, buying a separate quality grinder might be best. Thank you!
Thanks for this great video. I just received my barista express and was struggling with it. Until now I only have horrible coffee 😬 but after this video I know what to do 👍
Glad it was helpful!
I love your video and just opened the coffee machine today. I will adjust the grading level for the coffee tasty. So excited! thanks again Hoon.
"Oh wow! It's terrible. Let's go back to 9." LOL!
Great video mate! Really helped me to get a good coffee going with my new machine ;)
I noticed that you never mentioned the inner burr setting. Was it left at the factory #6, or have you adjusted it as well? Nice video, thank you.
I really enjoyed watching your scientific approach - very fun to watch your video. Thank you! I discovered your videos looking for a new silicone gasket as I blew mine out pushing it to the top pressure!
Glad you like them!
Honestly, I was skeptical about the quality of advice from anyone who pronounces espresso with an x, but it was actually a very helpful video for this beginner! Thanks!
Thank you for watching Jennifer!
Great advice, been struggling with my express since I got it but your videos have really helped me perfect my dialling in. Cheers!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks a lot, Hoon for your tutorial -- I just got my Barista Express and it looks like it's going to be many (kilo)grams of fun dialing this baby in. Cheers!
Best barista vlog - wish you where in my kitchen helping me - but you are so helpful - I have the same machine thank you ☕️
What is your your upper setting? The adjustment on the burrs.
I’m using fresh beans and need to go down to a #3 on the side adjustment to get into the middle of the dial using a double non pressurized basket
My upper setting is 6 at the moment.
Hi, you have a lot of good videos, but mostly on the Barista Express. I have the Barista touch and am struggling with grind size and extraction time with the double basket. I can't seem to get the time before it starts to extract between the 9 and 14 second mark, mine is always about 7 seconds. Would love to see a video on the perfect shot with the Barista Touch.
great video, I personally love my barista express (same model as yours). I once had trouble setting the perfect grind size for which I did a little reading and found that you can adjust the grinder directly on grinder's top burr. This might help you get from 9 --> 8.5. I don't know the exact effect it has on the grinder dial numbers, but in my experience it felt like reducing one level on the top burr had a -0.5 shift on grinder dial. I would be great if you did a video explaining it :) thanks for the video
I shifted the top burr by following the directions since my shots were consistently sour and fast. I’m not sure what this did in terms of grind size but it would be nice to hear Hoon’s explanations and experiments since I find him to be the best at explaining espresso techniques
Yes, I heard about adjusting the burr inside the hopper. I just don’t know how to do it. I just open mine to look and see if there were any numbers and there are, but they’re very hard to see. I had to use my phone flashlight. Anyway I don’t know how to adjust it. I agree with your advice on the vlogger creating a video on this!
What number did you adjust the burr on?
I have this exact model machine and your video has helped me make a better coffee. Thanks!
How about single wall filters? I learned a lot from your suggestions for Double wall filter.
Thank you
Thanks for useful tips. I am getting used to mine and will adjust the grind size again.
Good job man I appreciate the time you’re taking to make this video
Great video, I purchased the same machine for our summer house and have not had time to dial it in fully. Thanks for taki g the time to publish the video.
I purchased this for my pool house, at my summer house. I think I'll let my full time barista dial it in for me while I relax at my other summer house.
I've had my barista express for over 4 years now. I recently bought a 2 in one, weighted leveler and tamper for the machine. Also I have breville's 60 setting grinder if I need it.
The only issue I've had with the machine, is the rubber seal around the shower head tearing. You'll know if this ever happens. The pressure will be low, with water and grounds spitting everywhere. If their website says the white rubber gasket is out of stock, just call and ask. They should have it.
@@nicholasrix1707 Luckily my rubber gasket is holding up but I should order some just in case.
@Hoon I just got this Breville Express and your video really explained so well and in-depth about how to go about find the best grind size for the beans I’m using.
For you to go certain grind sizes and then tasting it really puts all my “extra” questions I have to ease!
A BiG thank for putting so much effort in!
Btw, because you measure out the beans, does that mean you don’t use that Grind Amount dial/function? Can that dial function be useful?
the dial is based on timing dosing not weighted. I prefer 17 to 18g when I make the coffee. Have fun with it!
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in NYC/NJ, even my church is shut down for the remainder of the month. So I decided to watch all your videos on autoplay today. I even roasted some coffee beans just now...
Nice. I'm planning on roasting beans at work as well. Slow at work lately!
I measure the weight of the liquid extracted from the portafilter with a digital scale to figure out the coffee to water ratio. On a 17 gram grind (ratio of 1 to 2), for example, is x2=should equals 34 grams of liquid is added with the espresso gauge reading between 10:00-11:30 o'clock. Stop the water before it reaches 34 grams by trial and error. That should be set in the program for that bean weight and grind particle size. This procedure is for perfectionist espresso brewers who goes by the book, LOL...The built-in grinder is quite as good as the Breville Smart Pro if the proper tweaking on the outer incremental burr adjustment is carried out.
I noticed that as well and ive been asking in every video ive watched since im new on making coffee drinks with the same breville barista express. Ive tried so many times with different grind sizes and grind amount and sometimes i get the right pressure but no the exact weight (36g) and thats when i realized that maybe i should reprogram the time for a double shot in the barista express and not use the default time setting (which is set to 60ml by default) but i wasnt sure if thatll be the solution for a perfect espresso or if i should keep trying with different grind sizes and amounts. Did you reprogram the barista express or just found the right grind size/amount?
Hi! Love all your videos. I also have the same machine. Question-recently I started getting small grinds at the bottom of my espresso pulls. Any idea on the reason?
Hello, I love watching your videos. I just got this machine. I have Illy medium roast beans. If I'm not mistaking you said "use grind setting 7 and pressurized basket for starters" right? Also, what should be the amount size. I love illy and kimbo. What you think about these brands. Thank you👋
I also use Illy on this machine. So far I found it to be best to grind fine (author of this video would call this "choking", the needle around 1 or 2 o clock position) and use a small dose (16 g). Oh, and very important: NON PRESSURISED basket (single wall). Also, you should skip the single wall basket, it does not help. Begin with the grinder at around 5, and work from there. You should get around 40-45 g in 35 seconds (including preinfusion). If you try these tips, tell me they helped at all.
You can use a Binder clip to fix the grinder adjustment in half-steps.
thank you for the video!. my espresso extraction is fine. but its drops in less then 20 sec. should i reprogram it? and im wondering if you do program the machine. let me know. thx
Check out the my other videos, I did a video on how to program.
Great video and very informative. Have you tried changing the settings on then inner burr by removing the hopper?
On what setting is yours on the inside? Think out the box it's on 1.5
@@Sunny_Yummy I have mine to 3. Out of the box I’m sure it was 6 when I got it
@@nikkos1983 im also on 3 currently.. Whats your avg outer grind setting and what filter do you use? I dont measure my beans so when it grinds its way to much even if my grind amount setting is almost on zero
@@Sunny_Yummy it’s around 6 but it depends if the beans etc. Also I measure mine out at 17grams
Great, detailed run through of grind settings. Thanks. Andrew from London
Glad you enjoyed it I thought it was too long!
This was so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much all the way from Australia 🇦🇺 🐨
Hey thank you for watching!
Hi!
I have a barista touch. I’m new to this and I’m having a hard time getting a correct extraction. Help! 😅
Great video! Is there a real need to get the grind setting right when we're using the pressurized (double wall) filters? Thanks.
Hi thank you im going back to watch all your videos. Nice
Also in Tucson (and also a Breville owner)!! Thanks so much for the informative videos!
You have to come by for coffee at my shop on Broadway.
Hi, i never see you use the front round grinder dail. When do you use it ? Is this dail for how much grams of output you get? So in theory if you know de grinder setting fine or course you can adjust it to get the propper grams for use? This way you dont have to keep checking thr weight? Or am i wrong... i am kinda new to this.
I would like to know what kind of coffee you use . From Florida
Good Tutorial , I am complete beginner to coffee making , buying a Sage BES875UK The Barista Express , so your video does give me a starting point thanks .again
Glad it was helpful!
I have the same Machine, but to reach the ”perfect” pressure, I set up the grinder at #4. I guess every bean it's going to be different? I see your machine grinder giving a good shot at 9; it makes me think if I'm doing something wrong.
Yes it is. different from bean to bean and day to day.
I have been dialing in at grind size 2 so I also think I’m doing something wrong
What is your internal burr set to? I’ve had to turn mine all the way down to 1 so that the coffee is fine enough, otherwise the extraction happens too quickly and the pressure is too low.
Pretty sure I’m going to get a Breville barista Express soon. Trying to find local roasters, as well! Nice vid!

I just have a question please, What is the best duration to extract 1 once in single shot.
One thing more, Which basket can give u a better shot ( dual wall or single one)?
Waiting ur kind answer 🙂
I really like 1:2 ration. 9g in 18g out in between 25-30 seconds for single basket.
I'm thinking of getting the Express Impress as it has 25 grind settings and tampers coffee for your, so no messing about ...
Iv had my machine for about 2 years now and I can’t seem to get the grind size or the extraction correct what can you recommend so I can get it right it’s really frustrating
Hi Hoon. I put 18grs for double-shot and it shows in the right pressure range but I get 120grs of coffee back. What am I doing wrong? Do you have any help/insights?
Thank you so much for your very detailed videos. It's really appreciated. I have 2 questions. One, is I set the grinder to about 3.5 and it's underextracting. I even have experimented with setting it to finer than that and it's still under extracting. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. My understanding was that if it was under extracting that I should either apply more pressure with the tamper / and / or make the grind finer. The other question I had is with regard to cleaning / descaling. The light was on this morning so I watched your video on cleaning and I did that but the light is still on. I imagine that means that the machine needs to be descaled as well? Thanks in advance.
First what kind of bean are you using it now? Is your light solid or blinking?
@@HoonsCoffee The beans are not any particular brand. They're Italian Espresso beans I've purchased from the store. I filled it up more today and set the grinder to the finest setting while tamping down on it pretty hard and that seemed to do the trick. I used to buy Stumptown and Irving Farms but since Covid it's been hard. The light is solid. Thanks
I'm looking to get a barista express. From what I've seen the newer models have the ability to micro adjust the grinder by removing the top grinder burr and it has a dial adjust on it.
Actually you could do on this model as well. Just finished video about this. Top burr has 1-10 setting.
@@HoonsCoffee Cool. glad I found your channel. Overall the Express seems like it would be a good fit for me. A decent combination of good results and convenience.
@@acderath For the price, can't beat it!. If you're serious about coffee get an espresso machine and grinder separately.
@@HoonsCoffee Well I'm not a perfectionist. I enjoy a good cup of coffee and while I know buying separate has its benefits I like the express' compact design (I dont have lots of counter space) and it seems once dialed in I can pull a good shot relatively easily and quickly before work in the morning.
@@acderath I think Barista Express might be right fit for you! So much fun making coffee in the morning for my family.
Back to the drawing board, I can now see why I have no pressure and no cream on the top.
Thanks for the video
Glad to help
I have the baratza 270wi so I can dial macro and mini settings but you know I think although the Breville grinders are not as good as baratza I feel for me it’s just easier to go up or down like you to dial in. I get lost on the baratza because of the non step adjustments. . Good vid.
Very nice video. My presure neadle won't go up, but that may have to do with the quality of the beans. They are very cheap ones from the supermarket. I bought some fresh beans from the internet to see if that makes a difference, I hope so.
Thank you for watching.
do you always slurp you expresso Hoon. Interesting drinking style. :)
Need help. I haven’t got a good cup since I bought my Barista Express. I had it set on outside grind 8 & found inside setting on 6. I started watching videos (mostly yours) & started following the dial in. Grind was too loose & gave no pressure, cup was at 36g in 12 seconds with 18g of med roast coffee. So I dialed my inside grind setting to 5 & outside to 8 hoping for factory setting. 18 seconds, very little pressure, crappy taste. Well now I’m on 3 for the inside setting and 6 on the outside with 20 seconds, 10:30 on pressure gauge & I can drink it but it’s still rough. It sounds like the grinder is really laboring & if I’m right it needs to go finer still. Before I brake something, am I right on my inside setting? How low will the outside go and should it go to 0? Will it lock up if I keep going finer? Do I have a lemon grinder? I’m running the IMS cup. Any advice before I go for broke?
Wanted to add the tamp is hard pressed in. Going to the store for another bag of beans, the ones I’m using are from a local fresh roaster & it might have been a bad batch.
It was the locally sourced fresh roasted beans causing the trouble. Tried some old store bought stuff and it’s grinding like your vids. Drinkable but not there yet. Could be the store stuff only gets so good. Thanks for the vids
Thanks a lot foe the amazing videos, I just got my own Breville Barista Express 2 days ago and I have question regarding the grinder, do I have to change the grinder sittings while the grinder is running ?
If you store beans in the hopper you need to have grinder is running when you change to finer setting but coarser you don't need to.

I'm buying this Barrista Express this week and look forward not sure what's the perfect grind to dial in to get that Honey look extraction..

Any maintenance tips? Should i be leaving the portafilter in the group head while not in use? Or should i take it apart and dry it properly? Cheers from Australia
If I'm using it just take it a part and put it back in next time you make the coffee.
Is the drop tray ok to wash it in dishwasher? And water tank?
HELP! Is the coffee supposed to continue dripping after is finished while using the steam wand? I got mine yesterday and coffee keeps on dripping when the portafilter is in there and I am steaming the milk. Can't find anywhere this issue only about other types of leaking so not sure if it is normal. Do you know if this is an issue or normal?
THanks!
Thanks for all of your videos. I’m in Tucson as well what local roasters do you enjoy? I think I’ve finally gotten my shots down pretty good.
Lately I’ve been using beans from Joes Daily Grind.
You are the 3rd person from Tucson. I'm getting green beans from Adventure Coffee Roasting near Pantano and 22nd. These guys are great!
Hoon's Coffee I’ll have to checkout their location. It’s just down the road.
Great video. Gonna try those settings. Using grinder at 5 and with the double-wall filters works fine for single and double shots. On single wall single shots right on the spot, but low pressure when using the double shot filter.
Since you have low pressure so make you beans little finer by lower to 3 or 2 on the setting.
@@HoonsCoffee Thanks for the tip. 3 it's the lucky number for the adjustment on the side. The single shot was good with 9 grams of beans (wife was happy with her coffee :D) going to try 4 for the double shot since it was near over extraction. Worth to mention that the grind setting of the upper burr is set to 5.
@@josean99 What brand of beans you've been using it
@@HoonsCoffee Right now I'm using Lavazza Caffè Espresso. Going to start looking for local roasters to get fresh roast.
@@josean99 Have you thought about roasting at home?
Hoon, what do you have your inner burr set to? I am trying mine at 4.
Hi, again thank you for these videos. Do you weigh your coffee every time? I've stopped doing this (for ease of use) but I've found sometimes the grind amount is a little inconsistent. It's fine for days, then tomorrow the machine will choke / be in the upper range of pressure - the coffee usually tastes ok (maybe the use of milk covers it up). Have you experienced this? Thanks again
PS. 3D funnel with shipping to UK would be good! :D
so Hoon, to be clear, 8 is Courser and 6 would be a finer grind? Is this correct? The Grinder adjustment is confusing with arrows pointing towards Finer and Courser but it's important to realise not to turn the grinder wheel in the direction of the arrow indicator. Turn it to indicate a lower or higher number?
Lower the number is finer grinds.
Just bought this machine and that setting was confusing me. Can’t wait for tomorrow morning for my next shot tryout!
@@rundesewolawen Start with 8. If you get no pressure go down to 5 or 6.
Hoon's Coffee
Thanks for your quick reply.
I had no pressure and turned the wheel the wrong way 😃
@@HoonsCoffee Hoon, Higher number is finer. For example no 15=finest. It's printed on the wheel. lowest is coarser and the very lowest is before 2=dual wall.
Hoon, I can get the needle to be within the recommended pressure zone but the duration for the coffee flow is around 20 sec. Should I be worried about the duration at all? Or should I just adjust the grind size so that the needle falls in the middle of the pressure zone and forget about the duration?
Hi, it was a very good video, it helped me a lot to get a good coffee. But I also want to ask what is your burr size?
My internal burr is at 5.
@@HoonsCoffee what does burr mean?
What grind setting do you use for your Good Bro’s Sumatra coffee on the niche zero grinder. Thanks I used your promo code to get some bags.
Thanks for your thoughts and the video! What about doing a 8 grind and tamp a little less harder? The issue I see is you didn’t talk about tamping pressure..? Thoughts?
Thanks for the tips!
@@HoonsCoffee you bet! Just purchased the same machine. I have been using the sumo no velli Oscar, a heat exchanger machine but it’s over 6 years so we’ve upgraded. Stoked to use a machine with preinfusuion and to have a smaller footprint in our kitchen. Appreciate your videos and merry Christmas!
Hey! Just wanted to ask do you like to use pressurized or the non pressurized basket? What do you personally use ?
I usually use non pressurized basket.
Great video! What brand is that water temperature gauge?
I got it Amazon.
Hi Hoon,
I want to grind beans in coarse setting for cold brew. What size should I do?
You mention adjusting the grind to "coarser" yet the pressure is higher? For a coarser grind normally you'd expect less pressure? A finer grind, more pressure? Am I correct or not? Thanks Hoon
But he went from a single to a double shot basket. More coffee the water has to push through = more pressure.
I dont understand about timed dosing versus weighted. I thought the machine automatically grinds the right amount of coffee when you set for single or double. Please help me understand. thanks hoon. I enjoy all your videos.
check this video out ua-cam.com/video/mkTMdLO_rWs/v-deo.html.
What's the difference between the pressurized and non pressurized basket? What does it do and why should I care? Thanks😊
Hi Hoon, I have this machine. I notice both on my breville 860 with built in grinder and my duo temp pro 810 that my crema has a lot of small bubbles on top. It’s random. Is this because somehow the water is too hot or some other reason?
Are you using double wall basket or single wall? If you're using a double wall basket it is normal.
Hoon's Coffee double. I love the grinder in the 860. I was lucky . Someone threw it away because they thought the grinder was broken. It just needed clearing, beans stuck inside.
I noticed that your pre-infusion is really long compared to what I do, I set it to have shorter infusion because I mostly do 10g shot, 20 for double, so if I set the infusion phase too long, it would be too bitter.
Anyway, nice video on adjustment.
Im totally lost, i got the same machine purchased last week, tthe prefered extraction time from press of the buton shoud be 25-30? with 18gr beans? isnt this way faster with a 15 bar machine like this? i cant get it slower then 16 sec from the moment of pressing the button, pressure is around 12 o clock on the meter. at grind setting 7 (internal burr stock 6) fresh beans roasted 3 days ago. the espresso looks very nice. but is VERY strong i gues this is suposed to be this strong since its a real espresso.
I have the same question
Very relaxing video. I learned a lot.
I'm so glad! I thought it was too long!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Made dialing in my grind easy.
Actually, channeling wasn't caused by the 14or15bars, I got the Delonghi 310, 680, and other Delonghis, and those are stock 15bar machines, that I don't have any channeling when I use bottomless, I do tap on the side of portafilter every time, with machine that don't come with therm-siphon system, lower the pressure to 8.5bar at the group head might get more decent result, since therm-siphon does recycle some of water back to the boiler, that does lower its pressure as well, if the puck grounds wasn't that finer enough, all though I haven't tested that theory yet, but gonna to try it in next week.
Hi Hoon! Learned so much from watching your videos. Anyway, I want to seek your advice. I am having difficulties dialing in my shots. I do 18g in 36g out but in terms of time it's too fast at 15secs from the first drip in the cup. The thing is my grind setting is already at its finest. What do I do to fix this and pull better shots?
What is your current grinder setting? You need to grind coffee little finer next time.
@@HoonsCoffee it's the finest already level 1. That's my problem
When you go too fine, pressure can get too high and the puck can instantly channel. Pressure won’t read high because it is released faster than the analog gauge can respond. Counter intuitive but try a more middle of the road grind focusing on even distribution and tamping. If you’re at a grind extreme something else is likely going on.
Hey Hoon! when you turn the grind adjustment wheel, does it make a clicking sounds? or it just turns smoothly?
You are going to hear clicking sound. This one has 16 grinder settings
hello great video a little question when we make a single and a double Expresso you have to adjust the grind again? and have the factory settings? I tried the double Expresso with 18g of coffee with the factory settings I arrive at my 60 ml of coffee but it flows too fast compared to your video I do not understand why?
Make the grind finer until u get 25-30 seconds, when u press the button start counting with an timer on your phone or whatever.
thank you for your reply the problem is that i am on grind size 1 i am already fine and i am already at the manometer at 12 o'clock but it flows too fast
83kif assume that everything else is adjusted correctly, check your settings of your grinder on the top. Here is a link how to ua-cam.com/video/QNvOcE4-VEo/v-deo.html
Just wanna ask what is your ideal output ? Do u follow the 1:2 ratio? Shouldn’t 18g produce about 36gram? And also when we press the button to extract the shot , does the machine automatically stop at 2oz? Or does it follow the programmed time ? Helppp I’m confused
I know what you mean. If you like to drink espresso try 1:2 or 1:3 ratio ans see which one you like the best!
Great video! Just a heads up this machine may have a fine adjustment for the grinder that would be the equivalent of changing it to 8.5. I think its in the top burr that you can take out to clean
How about using 8 and then using a little less coffee? Maybe 17.5-17.7 grams.
I set grander until to 2 but no good pressure on 2 cup ports filter.
Do you know why?
I bought 3 weeks ego new from Best Buy.
Did you put in enough amount of grind into the basket? And the tamping weight should be firm to the arm (not only wrist).
Here is his vdo about low pressure :)

What would you recommend for a Starbucks espresso blend? I’m having trouble finding the right grind and grind amount!
I have better luck with Pete's than Starbucks. Make sure check the date on the Pete's coffee.
Peet’s Coffee Espresso Forte is what they use for their shots! It’s amazing
