The Oscar winning crime drama film nears its conclusion. The protagonist, having won his inner battle of self-doubt but not quite solved the current murder case at hand, pulls out a cigarette and inserts it into his mouth. As he fumbles with the lighter, a wave of realization comes over him. "What is it?" asks his partner. The camera slowly dollies into the protagonist's face. Flashes of earlier moments from the film, key plot points he's now piecing together, hit him all at once. He removes the cigarette as he begins to understand a crucial element we the audience hopped he might learn. "Bring the car around" he says. His eyes snap to the camera and at exactly 1:23, we cut to black. At 1:29, the title of the film appears in bold, white text.

@@timothyreeves615 I am mostly confused why you are here on the comment thread and listening to his music, not that you said anything about being against what he said., though.
Hey Pogo! I’m just stopping by to thank you for the music. You were the one I turned to in 7th grade whenever I felt distracted by schoolwork, other people, or just bad things in general. 7th grade was also the year after a collision happened in my family, and you and your talent helped me get through it over the school year. 7th grade wasn’t too long ago, like 2017-2018. Still, your music never got old to me and I always checked in for different things. One of my favorites is Spongepants Squaremix, which was sadly removed from your channel. Some more of my favorites are Muppet Mash, Data and Picard, and Toyz Noize. Whenever I was in extreme distress, your music helped me get through it. I just recently subscribed and will try my best to keep up with your newest tunes. Thank you for the help, you are a wonderful artist and I hope you keep up your work.
Some songs you hear the intro and go "Yepp this is going to be a good one" so you like it in advance. Good on you @Pogo, masterclass new tunes, it's a good mix to your other brilliant stuff :)
I also immediately thlight of Death Note, I think it's because of all instruments doing something different and fighting over who is the one to tell the narrative like how they did in the Death Note OST by representing characters by instruments (L is a piano and Light is a guitar in their themes and in the music pieces you hear them fight and clash and work to defeat eachother)
I believe there's plenty of animes mixed on this one. Recognize many of these sounds. Would like to have a list, but then again... I think it's fun to just suddenly realise "Ooooh! This is from this-n-this anime!"
im surprised other people thought about death note... in my head I cant imagine hearing this in death note at all, but at the same time I thought of it anyway.
This is such a compelling track. I love the use of an unusual time signature, 5/4 or 10/8, or whatever you prefer. It feels like the penultimate moment of an intense film, the final confident ride to the films climactic confrontation. All the chopped up guitar riffs give it an almost King Crimson vibe.
がんばって (ganbatte) is my most favorite Japanese phrase! It gives someone motivation and encouragement like "You can do it!" or "You got this!" Nice release, Pogo!
woooooooooah, my dude Nick, wow. Did NOT expect this. Odd time signature, diverse instrumentation, great composition, what a brilliant piece of music! I love your remixes and mashups but this is on a whole other level, very happy to see it.
You are by far the most interesting artist I've ever heard. The tempo, the mix, the instruments, the percussion and especially the high hats, sounds so light on the ear it's like you're floating. This song is beyond genius.

Silver lining - his listeners are quality over quantity ;-)

Definitely a mid-season ED for an anime based around mystery and intrigue, probably largely set in urban environments, if not one single city.
