Rev. Peyton plays 18 Instruments on one song

- Reverend Peyton plays John Henry on 18 Instruments continuously. Like John Henry in the epic battle against the steam drill, Rev. Peyton takes on 18 different Instruments in one song. The list is staggering, and the process is amazing. See the country blues classic done like you've never seen before. All shot on a phone!

Promoter: Oh shit.. The 18 piece band didn't show up!
Rev. Peyton: Hold my beer...
Love this reply
Having met and gone to over a dozen Big Damn Band shows, Rev and Breezy are some of the best people ever. Love these people!
I wish my old Grandpa was still living. When I was a kid in Indiana I would go to his house and he would play music like this on his phonograph. He grew up on the Muskatatuck River in North Vernon Indiana and this is the kind of music his parents listened to. Brings back awesome memories!
love this video
and
Rev is one of the most talented musicians on the planet
Yep. I liked that guy the very first time I saw him.
You had me at Rev. Peyton plays.
And even that much is redundant.
Yesssirr
I'd love, LOVE to see a collaboration between Rev. Peyton and Les Claypool.
Too Awesome to exist.
Claypool is on another universe...lol
Oh my god that would be epic
This NEEDS to happen
amazing, so many great beautiful instruments and played with master. good show
LAWD THAT BOY CAN PLAY!!!!
An unchallenged mind like water will always find a path. This is a great example of challenging the mind
I was introduced to one song called "mama's fried potatoes" from an American who lives in Oregon, since that day, I'm addicted to that song, especially that lady playing that weird instrument lol, I love that kind of music, good job guys, greetings from Middle East
ArabMagazine , it's called a Washboard
I'm surprised I haven't seen the Rev or anyone else of his big damn band playing a carpenter's saw either with bow or percussion.
ArabMagazine i
every time he picked up a new instrument, I was like "Oh no he didn't!"
Could've made it 19 with a kick drum. I'll tell ya's this Aussie who has never been exposed to this sort of music is blown away by the sound and soul it has. Saw his version of Amazing Grace, if that doesn't bring a tear to your eye you have no soul
Awesome comment.
I’m late to the party, but this is OUTSTANDING!!!
in awe every time i watch.
Legend. Most of the time he seems to be playing the melody part and the harmony part AT THE SAME TIME.
This is the coolest thing I have seen a musician do in a long time. Keep it up, your work is awesome!
I have one of Breezy 's washboard and meet both Rev and Breezy all I can say is Down home folk!
Talent. Plain and simple.
Saw the Reverend Payton and his Big Damn Band last night in Indiana. Great stuff, and a lot of sound for a 3 piece band that includes a washboard and a 5 gallon bucket.
This was a excellent. I can't wait to see Big Damn Band in concert!
the Rev Rocks
Does human talent have no bounds
wish i could play ONE of this half

I really enjoy the bands music and videos. It's like grandma's biscuits and gravy.
Yeah a lot of biscuits and gravy recipes are good. But not all of them are nostalgic and take you home in your minds eye.
I can literally smell the porch side bushes and grass with a fireplace smokey note on the air....great childhood memories.
Only had 3 TV channels when I was a kid. Most of our family evening entertainment was on the really nice front porch we had.
Thank you Rev.
Reverendo eres grande!!!! Me encanta el espíritu que tienes tu y tu banda.... Un saludo desde España!!!
Flawless victory!
still can't stop watching this is awesome
He's the best! I wonder what would happen if the Rev. Peyton would team up with Seasick Steve!
Sir, my hat(s) off to you and yours. 'Round here, I first heard your "Scream at the Night" on the local public radio station. Loved it immediately. To see (and more importantly hear!) this phenomenal work has only stirred my desire to play even more. I love your work, and hate your work at the same time.
Keep playing, and we'll keep loving it!
anyone who can get a tune out of a stylophone is a genius in my book ! go see the big damn band at all costs !
:Damn, Am I the only one to catch 'dat? :P lolo
Dude that thing was insane. I've never seen one.
Good vibe , merci l'ami !!!
Antonio from France
America! Fuck yeah, that is what Im talkin' about!
SuperDman006 the mandolin isn't very American though, is it?
Look up a guy named Yank Rachel who played blues mandolin, then come back and tell us what you think.
Versatility at it's best...very enjoyable...

these guys are unreal. The Rev is just the best.
Team this guy with Juzzie Smith and it’s a world wide phenomenon awaiting
I was confused when the axe was just the handle XD. I saw the Big Damn Band at Southgate House Revival in Newport KY and I loved them. Sending love from Newport guys!
This summer, the siblings and I were going through our parent's house, and I rediscovered the melodica I, for some reason, had as a kid. Never thought I'd see one used professionally! 😝

great music lesson, my vote goes to the danelectro but the entire collection and his cabin with all their stuff around the fire is just impressive, wonder what's in the trunk
I would've been surprised if he'd grabbed a harpsichord or bagpipes but... an axe handle!? And surprised by how good it sounded.
Love ya brother! !!!
