Hey, where do I can get one of those fine grenadiers caps? Or how could i make one? I'm in love with the austrian grenadier bearskin.

On donne ses ordres en étant soi-même au garde-à-vous jeune homme! Mais ça reste toujours un très bon visionnage. Merci aux re-enactors.

I kind of think warfare in this era was far ‘better’ than modern times.
    : minimal civilian losses
: No bombing of cities (unless it’s a siege )
: no capability to massacre thousands at the touch of a button
: uniforms look damn sexy and inspire you
: you feel like a badass in those uniforms and larger than life (I’ve worn them as well as modern army gear training in the TA)
:wars were decided with a few large scale decisive battles, rather than drawn out longgggg wars involving civilians and stalemate
: destruction was largely limited to the area of battle, not damaging the majority of the country
: leaders had to be on the field not cowering in a bunker or city
: technology of the day limited mass casualties and overly destructive weaponry
: higher morale due to large formations
    Draw backs
: much longer time in the elements and poor clothing compared to modern fabrics
    : disease and short supplies
: if you were unfortunately placed you could be at high risk of injury or death with luck determining the outcome rather than intelligence or skill
    : less free thinking
Overall it would be better for the world if warfare technology never progressed past this era

and there was the fact that everyone marched in formation so when people get shot or ripped apart by cannons you just have to walk on or even walk on them and the punishments from officers were cruel and torturess

welp at least there is such reenactment there for education reasons and more though moistly at least things are at least bloodless though they bayonet use would work or would for the most part be used for the final bit where the casualties take place.

If they aren't "interested in the subject at all", I don't think they'd spend thousands of dollars and dedicate hours to this hobby so they could accurately portray soldiers of the era.
