    The low-impact workout the ElliptiGO gives you is like no other. It's well worth the money. We have never enjoyed another piece of fitness equipment more.

    I like the StreetStrider better and its priced a bit lower at $1600.00 with free shipping plus they have a special mat that allows you to use it indoors if the weather is not your friend.... Plus they have a great financing plan with zero interest if you pay it off in 18 months.

    20 mph is not average on this bike. I have a gps watch and to hit 20 mph on a flat surface, i need to be pumping this thing hard like a sprinter. Average workout speed on flat roads is 15. Crusing is 12 and just flat out chilling is 10.

      I hear that. I'm still trying to go 3 miles without tears and oxygen. I'm in Florida too and it July.

    The 8 speed lists for approximately $2500. There is an 11 speed version listing about $3500 and a flatland version with three speeds lists for Approximately $1800.
    It is difficult to imagine those pricing tiers representing anything near a realistic value for what is being offered. Especially in light of the fact that a road bike with similar quality components would sell for a fraction of the cost.

    I'd love to get this. I'm 45, overweight and this would be a great replacement for just walking in the park. Unfortunately, the price makes it pretty much out of the question. I'll just have to get that bike at the bike shop for $200. Not as interesting or comfortable most likely but...

      Mike B There ARE bikes at bike shops (not Wal-Mart) but an adult bike with just one speed (like I had when I was a kid) is $150, and they go up from there with the next step being about $250 for a hybrid bike. Of course they're cheaper if you want to go to Wal-Mart.
      Plus, I think it's bigger than a bike, how on earth would you transport it to the park? A bike will fit in the back of my Honda Fit with the back seats down, but I'm not so sure of the ElliptiGo.
      The ElliptiGo is a great concept. Brilliant in fact. But the price is ridiculous and a bike is more versatile (such as when the path is bumpy or not all asphalt or concerete.

      I found one on OfferUp that someone got and quite real quick. It just needed some adjustment which I had to learn to do myself. I paid $1000 for the 8sp seen above. I wouldn't have paid much more for it. Also OfferUp or LetGo you might find a nice aluminum bike which is what I love about this. It is 6'5" long and weighs almost nothing.

    I looked at the ElliptiGO and the Street Strider. The ride on the ElliptiGO was nice but it is noisy which I see they conceal in most video - and most of this video. I was ready to pluck down my money for the ElliptiGO till I heard the noise on my test ride and could not believe it. I wanted it for quiet rides in the park where I could hear nature sounds - not make industrial sounds. The rollers going up and down on the track is really grating, and the 4 rollers eventually wear out and you may need to get a new tract, which can be expensive. Not hard to replace but would be much more difficult to maintain than the Street Strider. The Street Strider is more suited for paved roads and the better the road the better the ride. The Street Strider and ElliptiGO are not speedy and slower and take up more energy than a bike. I had to start slow but can easily ride an hour during the day for exercise and feel good at the end of the day. But I started slow 5-10 minutes and have learned to coast every now and then if my heart beat goes too high.

    I would like to own an 8 speed version like shown in the video. Unfortunately the company rep "Carry" in Solana,CA states the $2199 price was a misprint. In actuality the Elliptigo company is stressing a three tiered price option for their bike. Although my conversation with Carry was pleasant enough, they aren't offering any special deals off the MSRP's;

    what about just raising the handlebars and standing up on a regular bike...

    But a road bike doesn't give a running workout, so it isn't as effective a cross training tool as the ElliptiGO. When you can improve your training, the price makes a lot of sense.

      Why would a cross trainer be more effective than a proper bike? I'm no expert on this, but I highly doubt it.
