- Kenyan police arrived in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, Tuesday as part of a U.N.-backed multinational security mission to combat gang violence.
Last July, Kenya offered to head an international force to combat violence in Haiti, where gangs control most of the capital and killings, kidnappings and sexual violence are rampant.

yes it looks military fatigue uniform but its police, there are 4 branches in the Kenya police service that wear them (Gsu General service unit, RDU rapid deployment unit/administration Police, Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) and Border Patrol Unit (BPU). Many times foreigners confuse them with the Army.

@@sevewonn8567 Its not the first time Africans travel outside the continent with the UN, Kenya has done several of them but not in a "lead" role, Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia in the 1990s, also that UN mission in Iraq/Iran after war 1988-1992, and others like East Timor and Cambodia, but yes you are right in "assisting fellow Africans" outside the continent in the Caribbean, its a first.
