Can't get enough of Peter, you can love him or hate him, but he is constantly proved right, he called it spot on with every aspect of the pandemic and subsequent backpeddling/economic ruin in the first months of 2020! 👍👍👍👍
@@mikepen918 I think it's more frustration than being stumped. Because he knows the answer of the west responding is locked in the past, and it's now almost too late. What is happening now is partly because of the west's lack of response after the collapse of the USSR, and that sigh he let out was a sigh of despair. He knows it's probably hopeless and knows the west will just carry on doing what they always do
The past history of Russian, Ukraine, the world & the present state of power distribution is well covered. Why does nobody discuss Russian forward planning, that fact Russia after absorbing Crimea & Southern Ukraine will/would acquire better access to the global south, to a degree, bypassing Europe. The global south being the market with the greatest growth potential. The fact that if the climatic trend continues, Siberia is likely to become far more hospitable & productive.
American may have salt water on either side but it’s about 50 miles between the east coast of Russia and the west coast of Alaska, with an island half way between. That puts Russia about 25 miles from America. They are not half a world apart, they are next door neighbours. I agree though, we are still treating Russia as if the USSR is still in effect, despite it ending 30 odd years ago. It must make people question what that was for.

Absolutely
For a moment there it sounded like you honestly think a sullen conspiracy theorist and yellow journalist was right.
About anything.
@@jonharrison9222 Whatever...
Absolutely the correct interview technique used here to get the best out of Peter Hitchens. This was a great listen
I absolutely agree. Mr. Hitchens is immensely knowledgeable and articulate.
The question at 45.15 stumped Hitchens for a few moments, which is quite unusual!

What a shrewd, intelligent interviewer. Subscribed!
Wise words from mr. Hitchens yet again!
Thank you for the video.
Points that I didn't hear discussed:
1. Why did Putin invade Ukraine?
2. Were the referendums valid? proof?
What an excellent interview. Extremely good questions.
‘Pleasure so far’ 😂
'The transformation of NATO... is the first instance of anyone beating a shield into a sword.' (7:25)
Great discussion thanks!
Subscribed! Thoroughly enjoyed this. All the best!
Great stuff, subscribed.
Great interview with Hitches and baby Murray.
Lol.
After watching the tucker putin interview one can see how on the ball Peter Hitchens is.

Russia will/would gain sole access to the Sea of Azov.
Can't SEE Peter very well!!
👏👏👏

In theory yes but the main populated parts of Russia don’t live anywhere near there so in practical terms they are a lot further away
If he could swallow the poshness or spit it out, we could hear his words
Do try and get over your prejudices... they make you sound dimwitted.
Agreed - his diction is appalling and getting worse. Makes it hard to hear what he is saying
What a Conservative should be.
I like Peter . . . but the first question could have been prefaced with "You were wrong about Putin . . . . . ".
Free press? Like the West you mean?
Investigative journalism may now be a limited phenomenon. I would be interested in Peter Hitchins view on this.
Erik Satie? Not a very conservative composer! :)
Well Beethoven was not conservative either. Should we stop listening to Beethoven because he was not conservative? Of course not.
Sound quality is bad.
No... your ears are bad.
Except for wheat and abundance of meat and dairy, infinite oil/gas products , huge mineral assets, etc. Besides that Russia got nothing
Very poor sound quality on this. I've given up on it.
More fool you then... sorry the World isn’t exactly how you would like it to be!
the wrong brother died too early
I used to love to listen to Peters Brother but I do not like this man at all.
