Thank you for this. Liked and subscribed! I just got my R8 and feeling a little regret for not being able to afford better RF lenses. I have the super old Canon 7D, which is an aps-c. I use EF and EFS lenses on the R8 for now. I attended the free workshop at Canon and the trainer said I need a hot shoe adapter to use my old flash on the R8. I went home, put on my old flash on it, it works fine. Now I wonder, why did he say that? Would appreciate if you can explain to me when will I actually need the hot show adapter? What is different with the R8 hot shoe?

Great video man. i got the same setup with the R6 and R8 and its great with the only downside of different batteries.
The R7 is more for people who do birds and wildlife that get extra reach and 15 fps mechanical shutter.
    Cheers from Canada

I totally agree....nothing wrong with crop sensor cameras...just...they're more suitable for wildlife, birds etc...and I'm not into that kind of things. Thank you so much! Have a great day!

100% ! Let me put it this way, I actually owned the R5 for a year, and that was a fantastic camera. But being a bird photographer, I just always needed more reach. I finally sold the R5. Now I have two R7's and love them :) For me, they do SO much better than my R5 did.... and WAY better than a 24mp FF body would.

great vid, esp. the preference around 2 crop VS 2 FF, I have the R7, looking for another camera, and wondering which way to go as the R6 mkII was on my shopping list! It could still work of course, I have a long studio (10m+) that makes framing both sensors a little easier but food for thought! I'm going to wait for a few more canon announcements before pulling the trigger...or moving to Sony!!

In fact the R6 is my first camera...the R8 is my backup camera.

R8 is better than R6 on things like autofocus and a bit older now. The R6 mark II on the other hand, that R8 inherits all the common features from, is "better" while being bigger.

Mind you, when it comes to image quality R7 allow you to crop heavily.....that is Canon 90d sensor inside it

…which is something I never do because for me the image is already too tight.
