Garibaldi's life has more and more impressed me as I learned about him. I was born and raised in Italy, but I fully came to realize what a outer-worldly life Garibaldi conducted when I found his statue inside the US Capitol building and a square in New York. He is nicknamed the "Hero of the two worlds". Almost always he's forgotten by history, or dismissed as a wild adventurer.
Garibaldi literally bombed the Vatican. The dude was literally a terrorist and ignored the 300y culture that existed in the southeast of SA... Not to mention that this fella lost not only once but also insisted in bringing anarchy to a second continent and got crushed as well. It admires me that an Italian would ever think of him as an inspiration

He plan an invasion of the south of italy with a 1000 men (most from my town of Bergamo) and lead a successful invasion and conquest of the Kingdom of Naples. He was also in the first lines when fighting for the capture of the city of Rome in 1971. Never heard of him trying to bomb places. Sorry.

I like how you fell out of great power status by the end. Really shows how this mod is different from the others as the AI actually does something and you don't just have OP events and decisions that make you snowball. I'd love to see you play some more with this mod. Also, the mod plays until 1945, so there is more content in the endgame.
Yeah, becoming a GP or even a secondary power seems much more competitive in this mod, and there are just a lot more things to focus on. I think the reason I lost out of GP was because I stopped focusing on military techs, and instead switched to techs to get better tax efficiency (because my political parties sucked, and I couldn't get a protectionism party) Sweden had a higher mil score than me by the end of the game, but a vastly smaller army as far as troop count, they made up for it in mil tech. Also having a nerfed USA really does make the game less stagnant. The only complaint I have from this mod is that after I got flipped to being a bourgeois dictatorship, I still got the debuff of -10% to military funding with female suffrage, despite the fact that there was no suffrage in my entire nation at that point lol
@@enochinri The USA isn't really nerfed in the mod, it's just that other countries are actually trying to compete with the US. Mexico is well known for being a free land grab for the US in the base game, while in this mod, they do everything in their power to stop them. Same goes for British-American relations, now the US has to invest in having good relations with the UK in order to get the border treaties, as the UK doesn't just give it to them for free anymore. Migration is pretty much the only thing that's a bit less railroaded to the US and could qualify as a "nerf", but the US gets most of the migration in most of my games anyway. I'm pretty sure you were just lucky in this save regarding the US since I've never seen them lose this hard. I've seen them lose oregon to the UK, but nothing major aside from that.
Rio Grande do Sul is a state with a very interesting history if anyone wants to check it out, for example: This war at the beginning of the game was probably the separatist revolt with the best chance of achieving independence and lasted a few years and started due to taxes (the rates on Argentinean and Uruguayan jerky were lower than the rates on jerky from Rio Grande do Sul, then there was a revolt and later it became separatist) Garibaldi (the Italian revolutionary) proclaimed a sister republic during the war in the state of Santa Catarina (the state just north of Rio Grande do Sul) called the Julian Republic During this war there were attempts to build a navy, but as the Brazilian navy would not allow this on the coast they decided to build it in the interior of the state and then take it to the sea. This was not the last revolt that the state "led", Getúlio Vargas was from Rio Grande do Sul and therefore Rio Grande do Sul was one of the main states in the Brazilian civil war after the collapse of coffe with milk policy, states supporting Vargas win and he becomes a dictator later (this was included in hoi4 recently) When the army carried out the military coup in 1964 with the support of the CIA, the president was encouraged to resist using the gaucho army by political allies (he did not resist)
