well I have a really good band with a really good drummer so I really appreciate Emma's drumming - in addition you are correct Emma is very good looking - and her chops are really nicely phrased 😀 It's the whole package@@emergentform1188

I believe marching people call doubles that are split between different drums "sweeps". They seem quite common on tenors.

What I like best about this dbl stroke coolness is the natural ease you do it with, great use of available energy and musical as well. Thanks

I was wondering what this was called! Never had a drum teacher but I’d always divide up doubles or triples between toms and snare, they just don’t resonate that well- but they’re nice for ghost notes into drag rudiments too. Thanks, I’m gonna have to work on this more.

I saw a technique for playing this,by "wiping" ,as if you play with brushes.
If you separate both hands ,p,aying with the left crash-snare and right tom-ride ,the effect is amazing.
    Try it!

That's the equivalent of reversing triplets. First stroke always on the snare and twos going between rack and floor. Sure, I can always hit ones only with left hand, but god do I love the goofiness of throwing hands left and right 😂

Gonna become crucial if you want to keep ghosting the snare while crashing or riding a groove. Wait, example was coming as I wrote this.

I learned this on tenors years ago where it’s more practical. I’ve got some real tasty knuckle smashes doing it on the kit. 🩹
