"Even those listeners who had studied the score for months were taken aback by the unexpected clamour of Mars. During Jupiter the charwomen working in the corridors put down their scrubbing-brushes and began to dance. In Saturn the isolated listeners in the dark, half-empty hall felt themselves growing older at every bar. But it was the end of Neptune that was unforgettable, with its hidden chorus of women's voices growing fainter and fainter in the distance, until the imagination knew no difference between sound and silence"

2:59 to 4:58 is the most stimulating bit of music I have ever heard. I have heard it many times over my short 25 years of life and it ceases to make my eyes swell with tears and hairs raise across my entire body. Of all the great pieces of music, this is surely one of the greatest.

This song is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. I come back to this song a lot and listen to it. I played orchestra in high school & we played this song my sophomore year. I hated every single part of high school because I never fit in anywhere. But orchestra was my escape. Every time I hear this song I start crying because I’m reminded about how music like this can make you forget about the rest of the world for a moment and just enjoy the melody. Nothing can ever replicate that feeling.

We're playing this in orchestra. And I was hella happy to find out that the cellos actually got the melody for once. 🙌

I have no words to describe how fantastic this is! The whole thing is epic, but the part that starts there... Just O_O
It sounds oddly familiar too, like I heard it sometime before I found this piece.

Wesley Pickles If you have seen Star Wars, it may remind you some of John Williams' pieces since he got inspired a lot from Holst's work.

Holst adapted part of this to the words of "I Vow to Thee my Country" which were written by a British diplomat.

I loved 2.59 to 4.58 i school, the hymn I vow to thee my country before I even knew it was Jupiter, oh my joy at realising it was from The Planet Suite. I never tired of listening to all the planets.

By Classical be means the umbrella term Classical music which is usually Baroque to today. I don't think he means Classical era music.

I love this piece of music and love it even more because of the redition in the cartoon show Bluey.
