    What a beautiful piece of art Martin. As a woodturner myself I am curious when you are turning such a large piece of wood, what RPM is the piece turning when doing most of the turning? I cannot turn such large pieces as my lathe is much, much smaller than the one you have.

      I don't pay a lot of attention to the speed it very much depends on how balanced it is. With large out of balance stuff like this it's generally as fast as the lathe will allow without vibrating. I probably started around 500 to 600 RPM and as it becomes lighter and more balanced around 800 to 900 RPM. Thanks for watching! 😊
