How I learnt to play tips on making tune inspiring

Often get asked how to learn to play or how to inspire with tunes you always play or stuck in a rut (which I get all the time 😱)

I have been playing in pipe bands since I was 11 (current world champions in grade 1 woohoo). Have been playing drums, I can read drum music well. At High School I played some guitar, but that just a few chords and that was it.
I recently started piano on my own using a wee app, in the hope I learn a bit more theory re chords so that I actually know a bit more on how things are organised. Not sure if I will start lesson, all depends on how it goes.
Main goal, hopefully I'm able to play some trad tune with the people I know through piping and drumming, i think that will work with my drumming background. 🙂
