Plenty of people review them, but not in English. And they're not for "poor" people. People here generally don't like to overspend on personal care products. Like 5 euros per product is the upper limit, no matter what their income is. Yes, occasionally people do splurge. But it's not the norm
@@dianaelias2752 Yes, not in english is what I mean as obviously only the residents on their own countries can watch them as opposed to a wider audience. Bought in Germany, but MIXA is French (launched in Paris in 1924 by Laboratoires Roger and now owned by L’Oreal) and it is a bit the French equivalent of NIVEA which is German. Nivea and Eucerin are owned by Beiersdorf and basically share the same R&D labs. 😂 I use and love the two Mixa products presented, really great value for money.
I've been living in Germany almost my whole life and while drugstore/pharmacy products have really improved a lot over the years, there is still a long way to go (especially, as mentioned in the video, with our sunscreens). however, there are a few gems here and there that a lot of german content creators/influencers love, my personal recommendations for anyone interested are almost all the products from the isana pure line and the isana cleansing oil
I think it might be a very european thing overall - calling petroleum jelly vaseline. I'm from eastern Europe and since childhood I only remember people refering to it as "vaseline", I had no idea the word comes from a brand name until I started skincare youtube. Probably a similar story as it is with the word "champagne".
Champagne is produced under rules of appellation, meaning only sparkling wine originating from and produced in a specific geographical location in a very specific process may be marketed as champagne. That's not the same as Vaseline and petroleum jelly.
My all time favourite sunscreen is from Rossmann's in house sunscreen brand Sunozon MED sonnenfluid 50. It is a very light weight, chemical sunscreen that does not irritate my sensitive combination skin. I am fair skinned and I am obviously not white, Turkish with Balkan background, so I can't speak for everyone but I am fairly certain that after application this sunscreen does not leave any white cast. Make sure to give it a try, I think this sunscreen may be the German sunscreen you have been searching for!
Sunozon med sonnenfluid 50 LIGHTWEIGHT? 😅Interesting. Although I liked it for my sensitive skin because it doesn’t cause any Irritation or breakouts - it always felt like butter on my face and never absorbed into the skin…leaving it extremely shiney the entire day , i looked so sweaty omg 😂 Must be a skin type thing so if you like it, good for you 😊
omg this video was so fun to watch! id like more of these german skincare hauls 💞 i also saw some cushion makeup from Nivea.. maybe you could review all german cushions?
I love to go shopping in German drugstores, for me it's a small hop across the border. Their brands are better and cheaper than what's available in the Netherlands, imo. One simple thing I buy a lot is the isana wasser spray with hyaluron and aloe vera. It's just one of those water sprays like the Evian one, but it's soooo refreshing. I used up two during the summer.
A lot of Eucerin products in the US have urea high up in the ingredients but they don't advertise it. Their Advanced Repair Cream with the red cap has urea as the 2nd ingredient. It also has lactic acid and ceramides. I don't recommend the Advanced Repair Lotion because it is greasy. The cream is rich but not greasy. Will keep an eye out on international sites for these German brands! Thank you so much!
You should try some of the sunscreens from Rossmann. None of them leave a white cast, except the children's range. My favorite is Sunozon Sonnenbalsam Sport 50+ (not oily, I promise)
I've seen a few Europeans mention that petroleum jelly is called vaseline in their countries, and the same is also true in Japan. It might be a loss of trademark issue for the brand outside of the US.
I can vouch for the q+a moisturizer, it was lovely. Also love Mixa and Balea, great quality at a great price. The pink AHA moisturizer im using right now and love it. It does have the faintest sent of vinegar but it doesn't linger and it's not strong. Q+A has great products that are fragrance free, although their rosehip cleansing oil doesn't remove water resistant sunscreen. I also love the brand Revox B77 but im not sure if they're available in Germany
Vaseline is the common name here in Germany. I agree, German sunscreens and shaderanges are really bad. They probably didn't call the one product a toner because that isn't a thing here, people would open it and assume it is a cleanser. The options are usually basically, does nothing but moisturizes a little bit or super heavy and all about barrier support. Rarely there is something with effective actives for the face. It's very hit or miss. I like some of Isanas haircare and their salicylic acid cleanser isn't bad if used regularly (ignoring the strong scent)
I loooove the BaleaMed Ultra Sensitive Waschgel (face cleanser). Affordable and very good. I've bought it consistently for years ❤️ Here all of the fragance free, Sensitive skin category gets the med label. The Sundace Sensitive Sonnenbalsam is an good, very cheap sunscreen from dm house brand too. Pills a bit, but for the price it is good to slather on for besch days, hiking, etc. The AHA moisturizer from Balea is also good. I rarely get ingrowns now. The twin facewash is also good for exfoliation day and gentle enough for the bikini area.
Not necessarily a skincare product but I really like the Ultra Sensitive Shaving Gel from Isana. I have very sensitive skin and while I was on Accutane my skin was extra sensitive. Other shaving gels I've used would cause irritation but my skin tolerated Isana one very well. It didn't cause any irritation or redness. I even found it to be slightly soothing. It's been my favorite shaving gel ever since.
I use the Balea AHA body lotion, and I quite like it. My only complaint would be that it gives a slightly sticky feeling after you apply it, so I prefer waiting a few minutes before I put clothes back on.
I would Love some more videos about German skincare. I‘m from germany and love american creators and while I Love buying products that they recomend. It gets pretty price over Time. So some alternatives that I can buy here would be so lovely. 😊

You should try the slow aging serum from Nø skincare it's super hydrating and Calming, and then from Colbri skincare which is a German brand they have an amazing spot treatment called spot and discoloration treatment and it has such good ingredients to help with acne but also the post hyperpigmentation and it has helped my breakouts sooooo much 😍

Hi Ramon! I am Italian and here in Milan there is at least one DM shop, and they also recently opened the e-commerce, so I recently purchased some products. I am really enjoying the Balea handcream with urea as it is very fluid and lightweight, but still nourishing. I purchased some other products from Balea as they are so not expensive: the Ultra sensitive cream with urea and the Niacinamide Day Cream (not tried them yet). I also purchased the azelaic acid from Q+A as I was curious. Anyway everything is so cheap and I really enjoyed the products I bought and tried sofar. Have you seen the brand called Biovene? I was waiting for this since you moved to Germany! ❤️ I actually liked the Nø Liquid Refiner (BHA toner) as well as their AHA/PHA Cleanser and the 120h Liquid Hydrator. And I think Nø played a role in helping the German drugstore products to improve, as Balea and Isana are trying really hard to copy those products and now other brands also started to launch more interesting products. German drugstore was really boring not long ago. And I also can't really stand the smell of that Mixa moisturizer. I do like the finish but I don't think I will repurchase it.
I have been binging your sunscreen reviews in preparation for CSD (Pride) here in Berlin, where I just know I'll have to reapply 20+ times. How do I avoid damaging my skin barrier from constant sunscreening at this amazing all-day sweat-and-rainbow fest? Any tips (besides large hats or masks)?

Also yes, I love that German brands use Urea, and you're right, the only products that use it in the US are Eucerin, which is German lol.
