Thank you! After discovering this engine cover through your video I have already bought and installed mine. It's a super simple install, everything mentioned and instruction manual is included. Love the new bike look. Kudos!
Amazing I found this video. I have a newer VStrom 650 with this guard and it really keeps road junk off the engine. I bought a new SV 650 last month and wondered if the guard would fit. Now I know. I didn't want to spend over $300 USD if it didn't work. I think it's great and will keep the engine protected. Thanks!
It fits very well and it takes you no more that 10 minutes to fit it on the SV.The overall look will be much improved în my oppinion (a master of taste maybe). Good luck!
I think your bike looked better without the guard, but I would still install it. The protection is way more important and it is still a sexy looking bike.
The SV650X has the same structure on the engine area. If you dislike the look and lack of protection of the 1st cilinder exhaust, probably will start search engine guard :). Soon you will conclude that none on the market fits as good as this one.
@@bikereport it's not for the looks, but the protection.. I already crashed (at very slow speed) my first bike, so protection comes first, looks .. a bit later :)
Nice. Looks good too. I never liked the look of the exposed exhaust. I think the SV650 is a good looking bike. I prefer the Gen 1 frame, I used to have a ‘99, but Gen 3 is still nice. It seems like Suzuki is moving away from V-twin engines, but hopefully not. It’s generally my favorite engine type.
It is a good looking bike, but the exposed exhaust of the no.1 cilinder ruines this image. And the engine is simply great. I really enjoy it. Great bike!
Hello. The holders kit comes with the engine guard.I bought the guard from a guy that replaced his on VSTROM 800DE. The new guard that he bought came with his own holders.
Perfect! Grateful for this video. Never thought of the obvous choice. Looking much better than any of the aftermarket ones! All the brackets you pre-installed are coming with the DL650 XT oem fairing? Thanks!

cool. I also think this is the great after part for sv650! After watching this video, I would like to buy a sv. Could you tell me where can I purchase it ?
I can provide you the part number which is 94400-11830-291. You can approach any suzuki dealer în your area and provide them the part number for an offer. Good luck!
Basically is the same engine with the same assembly bolts disposal. Moreover, the 1st cilinder exhaust turnover seems more compact than în 3rd gen. This îs why i believe the guard should match to the 2nd gen also, but I don't have any confirmation .
Plastic indeed. As for the protection, it comes on V-strom 800DL from the facory, a bike designed for the offroad side much more than the SV is. So, I think for the SV it should be more than enough.
I bought it as a used pat from a guy who replaced it on his 800DL. But you can find it as new part on any suzuki dealer. The part number is 94400-11830-291
It is great for the city, man. On highways it is confortable up to 110 km/ hour, in the summer (with a windscreen like mine). For more it is necesare a bigger windshield, but there is no legs wind protection also (for spring or autumn).
At last, a way of protecting ridiculously vulnerable critical exhaust abd cooling components and stopping the front of the bike looking like it has been cobbled together by a clumsy apprentice plumber!
@philiphotham5464 you’re right it’s an ugly and vulnerable part of the bike. It looks like it has only 1 cylinder. And your joke is funny to me as I’m a plumber!
I've seen 1st gen SV 650's when they had an oil cooler right behind the front fender with 60k miles on them with no guard and they were undamaged. Ride judiciously and they'll be no problem.
Thank you! After discovering this engine cover through your video I have already bought and installed mine. It's a super simple install, everything mentioned and instruction manual is included. Love the new bike look. Kudos!
I bought this part secondhand as well and will install soon. Nice and simple upgrade. Thanks for showing me how to install. Cheers!
It will look much better! 😀 i am using it for about one year and no inconvenient untill now
I agree the look is better and hopefully it will protect the oil filter from a rock on future rides. Ride safe!

Yes it does. Definetly the look is better.

I have it for a few months allready and still believe the bike is by far better good looking, but it might be a master of taste.
I like how it looks. Thank you for sharing!

looking good, was thinking of getting an Sv650X next year, as the first big bike. Will probably come back to this solution..

Looks so much better.
Indeed, it is a radical look change.
Are the holders part of the OEM guard or are these custom holders?
Nice. If you could somehow attach highway pegs to it then it would be even better.
Looks cool bro! 🤘
Thanks, could you please share a link to the engine guard as well as the windshield?.
Thanks for showing this
What model year is you bike??
I have 22’ sv650. Is it fit to my bike??
Your bike looks so nice😂
Like your fly screen, where from?
The metal bases you installed before are with the cover?????
Yes they are coming with the engine guard kit. But I bought the guard as a used product from a guy who took it ouț from a vstrom.
Looks good!
Indeed, much better than without the guard.
Excelent idea!
finally, something to hide the guts of an exhaust header lol. I don't know why they made it a point to leave the pipe open underneath.
Hello, may i ask where did you get the three holders for the guard to fit on. Thank you.
Hello. The holders kit comes with the engine guard.I bought the guard from a guy that replaced his on VSTROM 800DE. The new guard that he bought came with his own holders.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. Can you provide the link to buy it? Many thanks
Below is the link fron suzuki.de site. Usually this part can be provided by any suzuki dealer.

The brackets are part of the installation kit provided with the guard and îs identical for VStrom or SV.

What year is your SV650? Will his fit the '23-24 Model? What Year did the Engine Guard came from?
Mine is the '22 model. Definetly fits the 23-24 model, no doubt. The guart from 23-24 V-Strom 650XT will suit your bike.
The holders are in the box with belly pan, or must be buy it separately?
Usually holders come with the belly pan. În my prețioase answers i shared the piece code to be ordered from suzuki.
Anyone has tried it with the X version? It looks fine on it?
Does the engine guard come with the 3 holders as well?
Yes , these 3 holders is the original kit from vstron 650xt
Very good 👍
Thank you!
What were the torque specs for the mounts?
Sorry, but I don't know. I did not used a torque wrench for this job. Anyhow it is pretty easy to feel the apropiate power.
Did you have to buy the mounting brackets separately??
If you buy the guard as new part, it comes definetly with the mounting kit.
Nice! I like the windshield also, which brand is it?
MRA îs the windshield!
Wow 😍 where can i buy this guard ?
I bought it as used part, but you can find it as new at any suzuky dealer. It costs around 230 eur.

If vstrom 650 xt engine guard fits in sv650 i wonder if vstrom 650 skid plate fits aswel on sv650
I don't know, but there are good chances. My doubts are about the look of the bike!
