Since listening to Yngwie’s debut album back in 1984. I bought classical albums more so in the early 90s. Bach, Beethoven, Paganini and Vivaldi. Beethoven’s 9th symphony gets credit from watching Clockwork Orange directed by Stanley Kubrick. Sorry Yngwie didn’t turn me on to that masterpiece. I have a few versions of Paganini’s 24 Caprices. Midori’s on Violin and on Acoustic Guitar by Elliot Fisk. It’s awesome he played it note for note on Acoustic Guitar. Since then there have been other great Neoclassical guitarists like Tony MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore, & Chris Impelleteri. I also should include Jason Becker and Marty Friedman. I remember Joe Satriani saying back in the 80s that guitarists wanted to learn how to play arpeggios. Notes that make up a chord.
