This is a rare appearance of Walter and his daughter Ruth appearing together in a film. This is a western episode of a anthology series from 1953. Walter Brennan starred and co-starred in so many things including Red River and Rio Bravo with John Wayne, Tammy and the Bachelor with Debbie Reynolds and My Darling Clementine with Henry Fonda. Walter also starred in the tv series The Guns of Will Sonnett and The Real McCoys. This is a fun episode of almost lost television. Interestingly he owned a ranch and hotel in Joseph Oregon, and they are both still in existence today.

Lucky 13 is not a typical plot for westerns but it is as good as any half hour western you’ll watch, if you’re lucky.

This one took a little patience to get through. I kept checking the time. These half-hour episodes are much easier to digest than trying to sit through an hour of this. I still can't watch the Virginian at ninety minutes long including commercial breaks. I did get so I could make it through some episodes of Gunsmoke.
