- Опубліковано 9 тра 2021
- After over a year of not playing any live music, I had my first real gig with @noahguthrie this weekend. We played a duo acoustic show in an opening slot, but it felt great to be back on stage with a good friend.

It always reminds me of how great you and Noah sound together. Pulling out the latest for a spin.
Thanks Keith!
You know, how is Five Watt World not check marked? Dude does top quality documentary style content.
Best song to open with. Keep smiling guys. See you in the UK soon (I hope) 🇬🇧👈🎸
I love these Backstage Journals, and I'm so glad you're back.
True that
I agree
It makes me miss sleeping in a van. Lol. We got issues.
amen i love these so much
I wonder how many musicians watch this video with a feeling of hope that one day it's them on the stage again. I do.
Or remember the days that was them.
Me too!
So do i
Meanwhile my country put out a curfew...

Gotta admit, I'm excited to see this, because the Backstage Journals are what got me into your channel, and why I subscribed. I know touring as a musician can often be no fun, and I'm sure recording and editing it together afterward might suck even more, but know that these are enjoyed, and the end result is worth your efforts. Thanks for doing this.
Couldn't agree more Christopher. I'm not able to gig regularly as a touring musician. So I appreciate these videos more than being a UA-camr wanting views/likes/subscribes...🎸🎼🎵🎶
Gig fitness is such a real thing! You couldn’t have put it better when you said out of shape, took me more than a few sets to get comfy again...
Im chilling in a hotel in Nashville rn, and literally yelled out Yoooooo when I saw this lol
Hahaha same! just got to nash

I couldn't be more excited about the return of Backstage Journal! Noah is so damn soulful and talented. You get to play with some of the best of the best, Rhett. From what you shared, it sounded great! I'd love to hear the full show if it's available somewhere?
Sending peace & love from Missouri -Todd
Man I missed this series. Thanks for letting us bedroom musicians live tour life vicariously through you 🤘
Ah! Finally I can start to live vicariously through these videos again.
Playing a "small" venue out of nowhere after more than a year: That's one small step for a man, a giant leap for mankind!
After watching this, the almighty algorithm jumped into a two years old video of yours named “why i hate outdoor gigs”... i had to chuckle, i’m pretty sure this wasn’t one of those...or the perception of things might have changed
Josh Scott after watching the tittle be like:
Are you saying that Pedals the musical wasn´t a real gig?! we can not be friends any more, sorry.
I've read it with his voice lol
Congrats guys! These backstage journals are the best and the performance was top shelf 👌
Awesome show! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Awesome! Loved watching this series!
Wow. Love all of your tones. That was great!
What you do is a beautiful thing man, thanks for sharing it with us.
You two are phenomenal together
love it , you guys sound great !
I love the venue - its like coming back home to the real America - and the guitar work was beautiful!
These guitar tones... all so good!
You sound awesome together!! I am so happy seeing shows are going back again!
Love it Rhett. Thanks for taking us along. Always enjoy your playing.
Spent the weekend going back through older Backstage Journals - and BOOM! Glad to see you back out there.
Big fan of the Backstage Stuff - in fact I started Following RJ Roquillo doing gigs first and then I stumble onto Rhett. Glad to have these type of life on the road episodes back. Thanks.
Glad you are out again!! Great guitar and man, Noah’s vocals are awesome!!
Love hearing you and Noah. I've got to say I'm always SO DAMN BLOWN AWAY by your consistent beautiful guitar tones. Your playing and tone is always inspirational and that's coming from a 50 yr old who's been playing for over 30 years. My hats off to ya 👍👍👍
Great Video Rhett, glad you are back gigging. Thanks for sharing the journey.
You guys make some beautiful music. Glad you are out there bringing it again.
Great to see you playing again Rhett. Like the songs...like the duo format. Noah's sense of dynamics and your playing get the momentum and beat moving. Thanks for sharing this.
Good to see you and Noah getting back to it.
Niceky done, thank you for sharing 🙏
Great video, very interesting to see your experience of getting back into live music; looking forward to more of these journal videos.
Thanks so much Rhett for sharing this video with us. You and Noah absolutely kick it hard. Here in Washington State we started live gigs again 3 weeks ago. I have played twice and I was so overwhelmed after my first show after 14 months that I just sat and shook with tears of joy in my eyes. I am a 72 year old singer/songwriter and playing live again, hearing the dynamics of my guitar off of walls and watching folks smiling and dancing once again...I felt so blessed. Please keep this up...I live in a small town in the foothills and encouragement is hard to find. From the bottom of my old heart...thankyou so very much!
Awesome Rhett! Thx for sharing this
Just recently started binging and following you, hyped to see a new back stage journal

Hi Rhett, I love your videos and you're style too! Thanks to you I've learnt a lot about guitar pedals, gigs, amps and guitars! 🤘🤟
Awesome Rhett! It’s all there and the confidence will come bounding back in no time ‘cos your having fun and therefore the audience is gonna have a great time too. Looking forward to more. Cheers 🍻
Awesome show man ... this video is sort of a first of its kind , showing being on the road , sound check , to the concert ... keep it going Bro !!!!
Great channel, Rhett! Been watching for awhile, and really appreciate the great work you do! You had great tone and playing at this gig, and Noah sounded great, too! Thanks, James Ponak

Sounds great Rhett, I really appreciate the whole production and also your honesty on what your feelings were like...I'm sure it's not easy and you definitely have to put in the work. Best of luck on the upcoming summer gigs. I will be tuned in.

Love your tone! That guitar looks sweet! Nothing sounds rusty to these ears! Love the music included on these clips (songs sound great) and look forward to more. BTW your you tube sight is awesome and your videos rank among the best. I follow. Thanks for providing these to us.
It is so good how your distorted sound/playing works so well with just another acustic guitar and a great voice! So good! 👌🏽
Living in Germany, still being in Lockdown, I can’t wait to go on a gig again. Both performing and also just being in the audience.
Same for me
Love seeing gig videos making a comeback!!
So happy for you Rhett - you're a wonderful player, and I'm super glad we're all starting to get real musical connections back in our lives.
awesome gig man. Great playing and singing and very very good guitar sounds. Great duo
So great to see you back !! Man that widesky p125 is absolutely stunning ! Beautiful guitar !
Awesome ! Thanks for getting me pumped up to play live again
And I'm definitely excited to check em out man. You're by far the most real an relatable music music/guitar vlogger on youtube. Keep it up (you & Noah both)!
Great to see you back on the road and gigging again!
Great tones and congrats to getting back on the horse. Just started up with my modest acoustic duo myself, and I must say it feels great to be out there again.
Woah man, what a tone! I love how your rig is sounding in this concert
Great job Rhett! You sounded strong. Congrats on getting back at it! No worries. You got this!!!
You two sound awesome together, Noah has such a great voice.
Congratulations Rhett! I can't imagine how great it felt to do a gig after so long. Keep these videos coming 🎸
sounded amazing!! great job
Way to go Rhett. Great tones. Really nice looking venue. It is a step back in the right direction.
That was a very nice show and thanks for putting it up on the channel. The amped acoustic resonator was the best for my ear as it went really well in the mountain setting and the backing chords against Noah's very soulful voice were just right. Cheers.
That was a fun one to watch.. you could see both tou and Noah relax and get into playing the gig there's nothing like am audience to get an entertainer fired up
Thanks for iploading
Great mellow singing voice!!!
And your playing outstanding as always
Love these videos! Live your dream man!
This was very cool man. Just watched this whole video this morning with my morning coffee. That Fender Tweed sounds awesome. You guys were great and I loved that outdoor venue in the mountains!
Thanks for sharing your experience as a musician. It is very insightful.
Rhett, OMG, what a thrill to see you back. I'm a HUGE fan of your channel, dipped in tone, everything you do. Welcome back, brother! You deserve this!
Nice to see these again.
It’s crazy that this actually makes me feel like things are getting back to normal. Backstage journals with you and good trouble! Hell yeah.
I am so glad these are back!! I have missed them!!
Really missed this vids man...great to see them back again!
Congrats man! I’m so happy to see these again. Can’t wait to see a concert myself soon.
Wow, you guys sounded great! You do a great job with your supporting fills and licks as well as the guitar sound, very nice!!
Your backstage journals are amazing thanks I’m really glad that you’re back doing the thing you love. Thanks for getting the videos out in spite of 2020. You truly are an inspiration to me. Even though you’re less than half my age ha ha.
I was just wondering last week when there would be a new backstage journal, so happy to see this!
Finally there's hope for artists like you guys again! ♥️
Great live sound. Has a spontaneous feel. Doesn't need to be any better than that.
That tone from the reso, blew my bloody socks off!! Awesome, cheers Rhett👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻
