I think the little weaving lady is amazing! I think it would sell to someone with a boho home, a western styled home, or a home with pieces from around the world. It's a great piece.
Karen, you should have looked up lady weaving. It’s a Navaho woman and it seems to sell for $45 to 55 . May not have sold quickly, but could have been a good pickup. Happy New Year to you and Roger, Love your channel❤🎉
The woman weaving with baby beside her was AMAZING! Wish you would have picked her up, a lot of people would have appreciation for those handmade qualities....like me.
I always like the bed facing the window, so if you are sitting up in bed reading or having coffee, you have a view of the outdoors and not a door or hallway or wall. Just a thought.
I think the white round mirror gets lost in the wall. Perhaps a larger one out of a natural wicker (like the beaded light) or gold would make a nice statement! When you look at the artwork you love, which color pops out to you? For me, it was the gold/mustard color. I'd look for a large rug with mainly that color or a lighter shade with the same tone (even tone/tone). I think a gold lamp would also look great!
Just slip them in a ziplock bag and put them in the freezer, and the wax will shrink and fall off. In the wedding industry, that's what we do with the candle holders to get them cleaned up.
I rarely comment on any videos but I do watch and give a thumbs up to all of your videos. Your bedroom decoration is looking a bit Scandinavian. I would love to see baskets and wooden accessories added to your room. Even a wood framed mirror over the desk. The light fixture your considering would tie in nicely with the look. You're correct about the rugs...they aren't right with the artwork that you love. Maybe a nice, large, off white textured rug...again sort of scandinavian. I also love the Mongolian lamb pillows on the bed. I believe you're headed in the right direction...you have great taste....
I would get a mustard yellow rug that matches the yellow flower of the artwork. It will add just a little more color to the room without being too busy or overbearing, taking away from the artwork.
I wanted to say the same! Maybe mustard/white/off white stripes. I would also add a bigger mirror with warmer coloured frame, and skip the small mirror with the white frame. Add some wooden items and pottery, and the room is good 👍🏻
Not sure if I bed is in the right location of the room…..I would get a larger rug in a dark green, chair covering in the same color, a larger mirror, bulk up the shelves with books, etc.
I love the tapestry artwork pieces. I think you need a rug that matches the intensity of those. It can have a very muted background, but does need at least splashes of those colors. Otherwise the room feels unbalanced as the artwork is very 'weighted' and has nothing to offset it. The pillow helps, but still needs something on the floor to help 'hold' the artwork up.
I love the sweater also.. fell in love with it when you found it at goodwill. I immediately went on ebay and found one for myself .. glad I didn't wait for you to sell yours 😂 certainly don't blame you for keeping it! It is a beauty! 😁 love you and Roger! You guys are my favorite resellers on UA-cam! ❤
You have so many good responses on your bedroom, I think a yellowish rug pulling from your art work, someone else mentioned a mirror over your vanity totally agree with that. I thought the small mirror was to high up maybe lower, all in all it is your room, what I've seen so far in your home is gorgeous, you have great taste go with what you like.
Hi, Karen you can never go wrong with white walls. You can accessorize a room. It allows you to change the look anytime. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa🇿🇦.
Thanks for the video. If I were choosing for the room makeover, I would go with a solid rug in the color of the mustard/gold in the art work. I would also look for a wall mountable lamp instead of the white one - this would save space on the side table. I would hang a mirror (thrifted🙂) over the vanity. The white round one is nice (but if you had guest, they couldn't use it). I would put one of your wooden thrifted bowls on the vanity as a catch all. Use the Pottery Barn light fixture and use a few taller vases on the shelves. You could also go with a sisal rug if you found one. It would give you more flexibility if you wanted to switch out pillows and art work. I would never have offered these suggestions -- but since you asked 😄.
I think there would be people out there interested in the weaver. Collectors of American Indian art, other weavers, people with western decor, etc. it was an amazing piece! Love your videos!! Happy New Year to you and Roger!
I had to laugh because of course a college kid would use it for those ideas combined. Going home with it filled with dirty laundry …. for mom to do😂Then they go back to school with a bag of clean clothes🤣😂I actually find joy in doing my daughters laundry when she visits from college.🥹😊
I took a basket and added pine cones, greenery and a few birds at my front door. I needed something to get me through the winter and have it at my door.
I also follow, Laura from Left Coast. She goes thrifting in Europe and brings all her stuff with her. It can be done. Where there is a will there is a way!
The lady weaving would sell quickly! She is amazing. I love her and she could be for a quilter or anyone who has a passion for that sort of thing. Go get her. Lol And the wooden apples are great! I have a bowl in my colonial dining room and need three new ones!
I just adore you & your videos. Thank you for them! As for your spare bedroom - instead of lime & aqua you’re going with burgundy, gold & navy. (Or is it green? It’s hard to tell what the colors are in the artwork.) Since you’re using darker & more vibrant colors I would tone down the white by adding warmth. This is what comes to my mind: Replace the white floating shelves with wood ones OR remove them and just hang artwork; if you want a mirror on that wall find one with a wood frame; instead of the white side table try a small wooden nightstand and a gold or maybe medium green lamp with a natural colored shade; replace the white bedding with a color coordinated blanket or comforter; one large textured neutral area rug (instead of 2 smaller rugs). Lastly, I’m wondering if your beaded chandelier is too small for the room and a larger pendant light or chandelier would look more in step with the room size.
I agree with some other commenters that mustard yellow is the best option for a rug color, and I like the suggestion to try to find one with large stripes in mustard yellow, neutral/linen, and maybe white. I would steer away from a rug that has a similar design to your wall art pieces, as this will not only be difficult to perfectly match all the colors but it will create visual competition. That pair of stunning artwork pieces should be the focal point!😍 Also, unless you have a huge, open room, it's always best to get one large rug. A tip I learned from my interior designer is to make sure your rug is large enough to set the edges of your furniture into it. You don't want the rug to be an island in the middle of the room with nothing touching it. For this bedroom, I'd make the rug go to within about 12-15" from the walls, or at least the wall behind the bed. If you can't get a large enough rug to also go under the front two legs of the desk, I'd try to at least have it go under one leg. You may have to add some stick-back felt or rubber pads to the bottom of any legs that remain on the wood floor, to balance out the height of the leg(s) on the rug.
I recommend keeping it all neutral. White on white beige etc. like Nordic fives. Ditch the art work that you have on the wall. Most of all, the bed should be exchanged with the bureau. Bed should not be straight in from the door.
My 2 cents on the mirror I would go bigger around (top where it is in level with the window-bottom closer to the top of the shelf). One larger rug with at least the bed side legs under it, so for sure longer than the currant one. Also could do a mirror over the vanity and art in place of the mirror? It looks like a peaceful space. Have fun with it!!
The room is looking great! I think a neutral rug would work and make the artwork pop! Also the round mirror, in my opinion of course should be gold. It would bring it together with the chandelier you want to hang and the legs of the table.
I've seen some beautiful green rooms online, my dining room is green, love it! Green is still a thing. A hand-woven natural fiber rug such as jute would look great sense all the color is on the wall, also slide the bed over under the lower shelf beside the window and the little table in the corner where the bed is now
The roosters and plaid shelf go with the French Provencal farm look, reds, mustard, forest green, periwinkle, oak and iron. I remember that period well. 😂 Porcelain dog should be happy he wasn't a horse 😉 😂 Happy New Year! ❤❤
Wow, I am early again! I ❤ it & can’t wait to watch! 😊 25:35 I bought my home in 1999 & it had a hunter green living room & burgundy family room. The home was built in 1990, so I think you are correct in your guess of the 80’s being the appropriate decade for those colors. Of course, I painted all of the walls of the house after I bought it since I am much more of a neutral wall girl:)
2nd comment- I would bring in a rug that has deeper rusty tones, pulled from the pictures. I think a deep rich accent color would be beautiful against the white walls. You can also pull in other accessories with the same rich color, like plant pots, etc.
I think the metal painted shelf, could be considered French Country or Romantic decor. Also, I think the one would sell. I think it would look great as the center point on a plate wall. I know hanging plates isn't your thing, but it is a thing😄
Hi Karen in my opinion I would carry the gray walls into the guest room and then pick up a rug with gray and other colors to match your art. The walls need to warmed up with a color so it doesn't look so sterile. That's my opinion but then again I love using warm colors in my home I am not a cool color person. That's my two cents, enjoy whatever you and Roger decide to do. Happy New Year!!!
Love the artwork on the bedroom wall. Agree about the area rugs. They detract form the artwork. I would go plain with the rug/rugs. The artwork will pop even more that way. Plain with maybe an interesting texture ? My two cents 😊. Happy New Year to you and Roger.
I have a queen bed and my blankets and top whether it’s a comforter or just a nice thick cotton weave blanket I buy a king size. We do not fight over blankets anymore and I get good coverage on the top and sides. I learned this trick years ago, and I will never buy a standard size blanket or comforter for my bed again. If I have a king bed, I’m gonna have to even go larger lol.
The beaded lamp is cute but it’s too small. Likewise the 2 throw rugs are too small. You need one large rug. Side table is too small. Get one about 24” wide with drawers and charging station
MUST change position of bed !!! Has the appearance of not being in the room! Ie " falling out of the room" never put bed w head or foot facing door. Try it with head of bed under artwork and foot towards windows it with head of bed against wall where vanity is now. Will be much more restful that way
I have read the head at rest should point East, or West if you can't do East. This is because of the polar magnetic pull on our bodies with iron in the blood. I do agree with the bed in the corner should be pulled off the wall and into the room.
I think maybe a straw colored neutral rug with nice texture would be restful in there and compliment the beaded chandelier and golden yellow in pictures.
I have one of those beaded light fixtures in the grandkids bedroom/TV room. It was thrifted and my husband installed it. Love the light reflections on the ceiling. It’s so much fun to redo a room with thrifted decor. Here’s to a fun and profitable 2025!
I really like the simplicity of the room. The clean, white walls are great. How about a woven basket looking rug. (Can’t think of the proper name for the rug 😂)
The bedroom is cute, Karen. Regarding the carpets, I agree, the colours in them are too pink or pastel compared to the rusty orange in the pictures and the pillow. As a suggestion, a sisal carpet, room size, might bring it all together. Happy New Year to you and Roger, and all the best to you in 2025!!
A darker shade of yellow, like the flower in your artwork, would be so pretty for the rug. I’d be tempted to get one with a deeper pile to cozy up to the bed. Put airy pale yellow sheers at the window to soften the blinds. A gold framed round mirror above the table and chair would add depth. Layer a small printed throw or quilt over the end of the bed ( be sure the print is very small but picks up the colors in your artwork. For the wall across from the bed, I would pick up several large, flat baskets/trays in different shapes and sizes as a “collection”. After randomly hanging them on the wall, you could intersperse a few very tiny framed nature prints (perhaps real mounted butterflies or real pressed leaves). A different option for the same wall would be a long, narrow shelf placed up quite high. On the narrow shelf place small natural prints or objects. Attach pegs to the lower part of the same shelf and interchange vintage clothing items that match the other decor. Use decorative wooden hangers for the clothing. Adorable! I love your channel and have learned so much about the value of my personal items. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. I’ve recently retired after 45 years of teaching first graders and an in the process of redoing my house room by room.
@@bobbiellison4315 I was thinking same, especially now going into Spring, it will brighten room. Need to bring some warmth to room. I agree baskets, maybe some wood an brass pieces. Also white mirror does get lost. As other person pointed out, rattan mirror or brass ,or a color from artwork, You got this girl!!
Hi Karen, I would do a solid color for the rugs, maybe a yellow or red? Then you can go a little more loud on the art? ❤ You and Roger. You both have great energy.
I would get a plain rug or a striped rug ( picking out a color from the pictures) Also, a larger mirror on the wall. The bed's position could be changed.
My mother was very design savvy. We had hard wood floors in Michigan. She did one large rug leaving a foot to a foot and a half exposed wood around the room. The bedrooms were all on the second and third floors, we didnt have rugs or carpet up there. Well 7 children all under ten carpet was in the living room we were not! LOL. Im really big help! I love antique white Mom like white. She was an acrylic artist with her walls covering her walls. Most people hang their art to high and their curtians to low. A must worth enquiring and Googling. Many shows are painting baseboards and walls same color. Even the quarter rounds same color. My house in Michigan the baseboards are trimmed out a different color the quarter round staind to match wood floors. My trim seems to pull my eyes to the floor and around the room. Its to small a house with all this trim business. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas Season and Happy New Year!
If you do decide to retire to Florida, it was a smart move to make a bedroom out of your studio filming room. Love the double windows so close to each other! I'm a pink print lover so I would keep the rug if it were for me.
Hi Karen, I love how you’re transitioning that bedroom back to function as the bedroom! I get such a kick out of the radiators because I’ve never lived anywhere that far north to have one. But yours has such a cute cover. If it were me I definitely would pull a color out of that artwork you like and I think that a green gives a beautiful earthy, natural, comfortable, relaxing vibe to a room. But I also know that you really like neutrals so if you’re happier with a neutral, maybe something to match the vanity? And you could add in more green just like the little plants that you have in right now. It will just make it feel more spa like!
I like your room and would add an off-white rug to the room, and an off-white throw at the bottom of the bed.. Just my taste since it is a guest bedroom.
Hi Karen. I remember hunter green and burgundy from the 80s, and not really in a good way. Am I jaded? Hmmm, not sure. The little room will come together now that you’re in motion. A large mirror over the vanity would be lovely. I would go with a neutral rug, maybe sisal, and keep the color options open for the bedding. Lots of opportunity for seasonal pops of color if your base is neutral. The pictures are great too! Happy New Year 🎆 ❤
If I were doing that room, I would find a rug colour similar to the tapestry artwork. Just my opinion. Great haul, as usual, considering how bare the store was.
I think a straw colored rug with a soft texture that compliments the beaded chandelier and golden yellow in the pictures would pull the room together and create a peaceful color palette.
My taste in furnishings is very different than yours, so take my advice with a grain of salt 😊. I would buy just one very much larger rug. I would flip the bed and the vanity. If you want to keep the room looking very simple, I would do shades of green and white or navy blue and white. Add beautiful artwork and a small round comfy chair with a soft afghan. Plants and a few books. Love your videos!
I love, luv, luv the floral artwork above the bed. A gold rug like the gold in the artwork would go beautiful and not overwhelm. I am not a decorator though
You were at goodwill on Friday and I was at your booth! I bought the sugar and creamer marked rlm... love them. However when I got them home I proceeded to drop the lid and broke the handle. So sad... still displaying it though.
I would pull the twin bed away from the wall even just a bit. Something is off with it as it stands right now. You are on the right track overall with your ideas.
Hi Karen wishing you and Roger a very Happy New Year!🎉 I tried putting candlesticks in the freezer for my glass candlesticks and it worked like a charm! No scrubbing required.🙂
Yes, Karen on your candle sticks, I have had great success with the freezer method for removing the wax. Love your content. Happy New Year to you and Roger.
Bedroom reset - Expected Guests or in preparation for selling and moving to Florida? When we moved last, from a 2 story house my wife and I built, to retire at the lake, one of our criteria this time was to only look at single story houses. Being older now and having a knee repair, it was time to stop going up and down stairs so often. Basements stairs are probably common in older Pennsylvania homes (like my own birth place in Michigan) because of the frost depth mandating tall foundations, but its more likely Florida homes will offer more single story choices. 😉
The deep burgundy for the rug, to give the floor a warm pop of colour and marry to the wall art.
The lady weaving is a terrific treasure for many artistic people.
I think the little weaving lady is amazing! I think it would sell to someone with a boho home, a western styled home, or a home with pieces from around the world. It's a great piece.
I do, too,
Karen, you should have looked up lady weaving. It’s a Navaho woman and it seems to sell for $45 to 55 . May not have sold quickly, but could have been a good pickup. Happy New Year to you and Roger, Love your channel❤🎉
Yes you are right they are selling
Folk art sells.
If it’s Native American it could be worth a lot
The woman weaving with baby beside her was AMAZING! Wish you would have picked her up, a lot of people would have appreciation for those handmade qualities....like me.
I always like the bed facing the window, so if you are sitting up in bed reading or having coffee, you have a view of the outdoors and not a door or hallway or wall. Just a thought.
Where would it fit? The radiator takes up wall space.

That was my thought as well. Sort of MCM color.
Not sure if I bed is in the right location of the room…..I would get a larger rug in a dark green, chair covering in the same color, a larger mirror, bulk up the shelves with books, etc.
80’s was the country blue and mauve and the 90’s was the hunter green and burgundy. Lol
Yes. And I am happily stuck in the 90's
One pillow is lonely. Rug should be in the colors of the wall pictures. Lovely start to a beautiful room!
My cousin has an entire wall of the black toleware painted trays of all different shapes & sizes. It’s amazingly beautiful!
I love the sweater also.. fell in love with it when you found it at goodwill. I immediately went on ebay and found one for myself .. glad I didn't wait for you to sell yours 😂 certainly don't blame you for keeping it! It is a beauty! 😁 love you and Roger! I do as well.I would probably put the pictures on the larger wall beside the vanity and a mirror above your vanity. Great job.Nice and fresh.
Hey Karen that red and white checkered wall hanging would look great by itself with the two chickens sitting on it. A trio is better than a duo.
Hi, Karen you can never go wrong with white walls. You can accessorize a room. It allows you to change the look anytime. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa🇿🇦.

I think that bag would be good for college kids. They could use it for going back and forth visiting home or for dirty laundry.

Karen, I am still thinking about the amazing brass horse head bookends in Florida. I would’ve made room in my carryon for those!
I also follow, Laura from Left Coast. She goes thrifting in Europe and brings all her stuff with her. It can be done. Where there is a will there is a way!
Yes! I also am here to find out what they decided to bring back from Florida. I loved everything about those horse bookends. They screamed quality!
The lady weaving would sell quickly! She is amazing. I love her and she could be for a quilter or anyone who has a passion for that sort of thing. Go get her. Lol And the wooden apples are great! I have a bowl in my colonial dining room and need three new ones!

Nordic Vibes 😂
I'd match the tapestry with the burgundy and yellow and perhaps do a circle rug to break up the square/rectangle of the wall art, bed, table, etc.
I'm constantly impressed with your scant decorations. Looks nice snd clean. I love the 2 pieces of art near the twin bed!
My 2 cents on the mirror I would go bigger around (top where it is in level with the window-bottom closer to the top of the shelf). I adore that red checkered shelf!!! I would absolutely use just one in my kitchen - on a narrow wall or even on the side of a cabinet. LOVE IT!!
The roosters and plaid shelf go with the French Provencal farm look, reds, mustard, forest green, periwinkle, oak and iron. I remember that period well. 😂

A thick cranberry rug would be so pretty and luxurious! Something shaggy.
Awesome video.
Luv the candlesticks.
Cozy room.
Great decor.
I love you too Karen! Sending my love from Woodlake, California.

Agreed the rug needs to be in those earthy tones of gold, green and the maroon/red in the art and just one larger 5 x 7 size rug should do it!
Change the rug to a red coloured Persian style and plants on the radiator ? ❤
Happy new year 2025 hope that you find lots of goodies this coming year good luck to you both love your videos❤❤😊
I really like the simplicity of the room. The clean, white walls are great. How about a woven basket looking rug. (Can’t think of the proper name for the rug 😂)
Hello, good Sunday to you
"Why do I like this?" so funny! Thanks for all the knowledge you share.
Alright!! Let’s go thrifting for the New 2025 Year!! 😊🎉 Hope you and Roger had a great time in FLA. 🌊 ☀️
Are you staging for sale? Florida bound? You have a perfect setup now😊. Love all the videos!
I’m not entirely sure, just going with the flow 😁
The mustard color in the art would be great for the rug
I love that gold mustard yellow color on the wall and think it would look nive as the primary color for a rug
The acrylic cube was a lipstick holder. Peugeot is a top notch brand
Hi Karen, I would do a solid color for the rugs, maybe a yellow or red? Then you can go a little more loud on the art? ❤ You and Roger. You both have great energy.
I would get a plain rug or a striped rug ( picking out a color from the pictures)
Also, a larger mirror on the wall.
The bed's position could be changed.
Happy New Year. Karen I would consider darkening the bed spread and the larger rug could play off the spread and wall painting. Just my thoughts.
The woman weaving is quite a treasure. Would go into a ranch or southwest motifs. So beautifully done.
The room looks lovely. Just a thought the pictures would be nice above the vanity table. The rugs look so nice and they do go with the artwork.
I love that beaded chandelier and the room looks very nice❤
Happy New Year Kim and Roger….and all of your family 🎉yayayaya
Karen and Roger…I’m Sorry…that’s what happens when you watch a lot of videos 😂🤣
Just my taste since it is a guest bedroom.
my friend is a weaver, she would have loved that woman
if you are keeping that wall art I woudl look for a orange rust color rug... also there are no bureaus for your guests clothes?
Go with the burgundy color from the tapestry for the rug. Will look great with wood floor and burgundy us a very rich warm color
I live the colors in pictures on your wall. ❤your show. This is a stress relief for me
Hi Karen. How about a natural color woven sisal rug? Then you can still keep the wall art. Wishing you and Roger a happy and healthy new year!
Put wax candlesticks in the freezer and the wax is easy to take off.
The 80's were known for mauve and blue colors and had a ton of items with ducks and also hearts. The 90's were know for hunter green and burgundy.
Love you Karen!
Love the beaded chandelier! Love the artwork!!!
I don't think the bed would fit where the vanity is. It looks like it would be blocked by the radiator cover.
Thanks Karen!!!
I got a vera Bradley wallet and just put it through the wash. Cam out looking brand new. Very washable
Happy New Year, Karen & Roger
I would go with the same color as that square pillow on the bed.
That ceramic oil lantern is not missing anything, it is self explanatory.
I love that you still display it! 💜
I would pull the twin bed away from the wall even just a bit. Something is off with it as it stands right now. You are on the right track overall with your ideas.
Happy New Year to you and Roger. Love 💕 your sweater and earrings….as usual 😊.
Hi Karen wishing you and Roger a very Happy New Year!🎉 I tried putting candlesticks in the freezer for my glass candlesticks and it worked like a charm! No scrubbing required.🙂
Hi Karen. Happy New Year to you too.
Love your sweater.
Yes, Karen on your candle sticks, I have had great success with the freezer method for removing the wax. Love your content. Happy New Year to you and Roger.
Bedroom looks nice! Happy New Year!🥂
Solid colored rug that is one of the bright colors in the artwork. The pillow is a great color and makes the room pop. Maybe a rug that same color.
I like you bedroom decor. Love the 2 pics as a focal point and the neutral look. It adds such a great punch of colour.
Saw that coming 😂😂😂😂😂 I can’t with you sometimes Karen. Your humor is right up my alley.
