Cant afford it.
Agree. Resellers help Goodwill and Thrift Stores thrive. I volunteer at a local thrift store and resellers are the backbone of its business. If they only had to make it on low income buyers, the shop would close.
Goodwill has gotten so high in prices I never go in anymore when I could buy something brand new for their cost or less.
I no longer go to the Goodwill. They no longer have discounts of any sort, senior day is over and the quality of goods is extremely poor. Our store looks more like a used clothing outlet as their hard goods are at a minimum and past resale quality. The Goodwill stores in your city are like shopping at high end retail shops compared to ours. Good hunting and God bless.
Where are you at? Where I’m at in NC same
Same. Northeast Ohio
Same here in southern Indiana!
same in california. nothing but dirty trashy stuff too.
TN Goodwill’s leave much to be desired. Oddly, they were a little better a few years back
Is anyone else screaming pick up the Balsam Hill ornaments?
Yes!
Screaming from Canada
Yes!

Amen Danni! GOODWILL has gone nuts on their prices! High dollar for even damaged items! Plus, I’ve noticed they’re now purposely placing the price stickers over damaged areas. Seriously? This is exactly how to “tank” a business!
Goodwills are a multi million dollar business! I prefer to drop my things off at St. Vincent de Paul where I know people who need these things can afford them. I’m from Canada and there is a store that goes through the jewellery and they keep the sterling silver and gold. I said well that takes away the thrill of the hunt. I’m done with Goodwill!
Yes, I am hitting the Goodwills less and less. Their items are too costly.
I don’t go to Goodwill anymore because of the prices. In Indiana they did away with all discounts and raised their prices. Waste of time. I don’t donate to them anymore either.
No one can call resellers greedy when Goodwill gets their stock for free from donations!
Did Danni not do that when she had her shop ?
@@Barbara66647 I think Dani's prices at her shop were reasonable. She also had discounts and sales; she even had a bin were free items were available.
@@Barbara66647 I believe the nonprofits she worked with received money when the item sold.
I'm not a reseller, but the Goodwill prices have definitely increased. I buy for myself or grandson. In my area, they tell me they cannot price anything lower than $1.99. When I see something from Dollar Tree with the price on it, or a jelly jar without a lid for $1.99 it just doesn't make sense or help the person on a limited budget.
The goodwill near me is overrun with resellers. The shelves are picked over; a change in the last year. I can’t even examine the shelves leisurely without people hovering over my shoulder, grabbing stuff from the shelves. Not a pleasant experience. I now spend my money at S.A. and a local thrift for veterans.
I am grateful for your "editorial" on GW. I would like to throw in one more aspect that NO ONE seems to ever wanna talk about: Minimum Wages went UP! GW has to staff the store, staff the donation centers, have a safe/healthy environment (building) for staff and customer to be inside of, utilities have also gone up for businesses just like residentials. Minimum Wages going us is something I tried to "editorialize" in my world, how it was NEVER intended to be a PRIMARY income, Min. Wage was for the HS kid just starting out. Now GW has to increase those wages, and that inflations is passed along to EVERYONE who shops there. Our GW (in Indiana) did away with the Color of the week, I think that was a bad choice, because now they have to use their staff to remove certain items to be shipped to bins. IF they were still Color of the week'ing, those items are more likely to have been gobbled up. Sadly GW is not the only sort of business using a very LAME and Sickly Business model--it happens in healthcare, education and groceries. TY again for sharing your thoughts and making videos for us to enjoy and learn from.
Hello 👋 there how are you doing today ?
I love how you put items together when they are missing a friend! ❤
I enjoy thrifting and I also donate frequently and I don't like to do either at Goodwill. Locally, I don't see much good that they do. When I lived in OK, I did see some handicapped people working at the donation locations. In the DFW area, I haven't seen it. I do realize there could be a place that the public doesn't see. Salvation Army will provide items to needy people in case of a house fire, homelessness, etc. When I lived in a smaller city in the DFW area, it was a known fact that the employees kept what they wanted from donations. Also, Goodwill is one of the most expensive thrift shops in the DFW area. I have a relative who managed a store and I didn't get a good feeling about the store from that person either. I feel like their tax exempt status is questionable.
But, so much for that. I just found you channel and I love listening to you shop! Your voice is very calming and I love how you talk to the items. I am the same way and it's a large part of why I have too much clutter. Of all the UA-camrs I watch, you are the kindest and it's hard for me to understand why anybody you leave you negative feedback. Ignore them and know that many of us really appreciate you kind and gentle attitude towards everything!
I wholeheartedly agree with you. I worked at a Salvation Army and know 1st hand how much stuff gets donated. What I wish more stores would do is bag days for books and clothing. It doesn't need to be on all of it, maybe just after a certain date that it's been on the sales floor. People WILL buy bags and bags instead of it not selling. Get things moving. Nothing in a thrift store is so precious that they should be holding onto for as long as they do.
There are 3 Goodwills within 12 miles of me in the Columbia SC area. I used to hit them all up every week. In the last 6 months or so, goods have been sparce, overpriced, and not unique or valuable; just a bunch of junk. The last few times I shopped I walked out empty handed. The lowest price in these stores increased from .99 to 1.99. The local Salvation Army has one 24 ft. shelf of hard goods. It can be very discouraging, and I applaud your positive attitude as you bring us on your shopping trips.
I have found some two things for the first time in ages at my thrift stores at an affordable price here in Idaho !!! Fenton Milk Glass !!! A lot of dollar store stuff and damaged goods at ridiculous prices !!!
I have been buying less and less for my booth at goodwill. I try to find the mom and pop thrift stores. The prices are usually better there.
My hubby and I love your videos. And as far as @goodwill goes, their prices are Ridiculous. I'm from Ohio living in Western Oklahoma and goodwill is outrageous in pricing in both states. Quality is gone because workers are chipping items overpriced for sure and they need to really stop selling items that are obviously a pair or a set, they need to stop selling them separately. Average thrifters can't afford these prices. Hope they go back to the good old days. Take care😊
I looooove the color and the design of your nails today !!!
Of the 4 Goodwills close to me, I only shop at one. I haven't bought anything even from that store lately. There seems to be just junk on the shelves. junk at any price. They do have some good art from time to time at good prices.
Hello 👋 pretty lady how are you doing today and the weather condition like?
Noah: I love your comments! Keep the humor up!
Hello 🤗pretty lady🌹🌹how are you doing today and the weather condition like?
I found a Glassy Baby!!❤❤
Goodwill prices are getting close to full retail, broken or not. At my local Goodwill they were putting out glassware with such a loud smack I'm not sure what survived. It pained my soul. I love when you go to estate sales and smaller thrift shops.
I love that you put like things together. I find my self rearranging the shelves in my local goodwill.
Don't go to goodwill any more can go across the road and get the same things at Walmart for less
But, at goodwill peeps can find vintage items made elsewhere besides China.
I agree with your reasoning about Goodwill prices and damaged products. It happens everywhere
And putting out used candles!!! Really? How stupid😮
Dani but you met with Goodwill heads. Did they not listen to you?
Not yet - they postponed me to after the holidays!
Definitely hitting Goodwill less. I live in western NY and the prices are high. I realize prices do need to rise some to keep up with inflation. But how items are priced is mind-boggling. Most times, for a few dollars more, I can buy new..
Hi there I left you a comment on one of your videos but do not know which. I told you how much I like your channel and that my husband is Polish and everytime you mention the glass wear that is from Poland it makes me smile so thanks for that.
Debbie from Canada
I saw and responded to your comment ;-) I am Polish too!
The good will add stores in cheapskate Maryland got a glass , ceramic recycling machine a couple other good will near the beach also got the machines..They are turning the broken glass back in to Sand ..The sand is being used to rebuild the beach areas ..My suggestion is a ratio of 3 glass recycling machine for every five stores in the same town .I'm sure the Las Vegas sand dunes could use some help with recycled sand from Good will...
Hello 🤗 pretty lady how are you doing today
When you were looking at the gray goose martini glasses there was a glass container two shelves below that it looked like that lid would fit!!
Hello 👋 pretty lady🌹🌹how are you doing today and the weather condition like?
Think the reason why these thrift stores are up in their prices is because they know that most of us resell for-profit.
And they are making it so those who don’t resell can’t afford anything.
@@laurabailey1054And neither can the resellers. 🤷🏼♀️
I used to think that !!! Then I didn't think so !!! Now I think so again !!!
@@laurabailey1054I agree !!
It's bad logic though because we will find our things elsewhere!
I am 71 and on SS and don't shop in Goodwill(haven't for about 2 yrs) as their prices are way too high for the low income shopper.
Your thoughts from the car are right on.... seriously. I totally agree and understand everything you said.
“Thoughts from the car” is a great title for your talks
I understand your frustration with Goodwill pricing!
Look up balsam hill trees and see how much they sell for. We bought an artificial tree from them about 2 years ago and it was over $1000.00. I would be curious how the ornaments would go for.
That store is high end, I bet a few hundred dollars. Look at their website.
It's a no win for anyone. Also, when you bent down to look at the mirror, your scarf was hanging on the floor with the fringe, it looked like a centipede to me, almost dropped my phone 😂
I like thoughts from the car. You’re saying what we are thinking. Two places I know are going out of business and it’s because of their rent on the building. Owners of buildings have increased their rent and on Goodwill can you imagine moving all that inventory to a new building. Most think the word of EBay is golden except they look at asking not sold. Keep speaking up. They hear you.
Keep having a conversation with corporate..!!!♥️♥️
You forgot to show us your new obsession.. love your videos!!
I'll make a community post!
Agree with you! They have to be selling less as high as their prices are becoming.
Love your videos in goodwill. I don’t shop in the goodwill as much but i love to go! 😊
You are speaking the truth. Goodwill starts with a profit. Their prices also affect people with antique booths.
Looked to me like they were carrying a urinal😅! I think the vacuums knew you were already annoyed at the prices and didn't want to further disturb you.
I love your channel. You are so enjoyable to watch and listen to and I adore your love for all animals❤
I have lost all respect for Goodwill. Reason: Low income and their families can’t afford the outrageous raise in prices. They don’t give about goodwills bottom line. They get there goods Free
You are an amazing woman! I wish I had some of your knowledge
Someone needs to say it: They are asking $15 for broken stuff because it keeps the storefront open so they can keep donations flowing through them. They are selling anything that is not broken are crappy online and filling the storefront with whatever is left so it serves as a convenient drop for donations (to sell online)
Yup!
Loveee the pink candle holder
I just saw a Pampered Chef Loaf pan on the shelf. Please pick up they sell well and I’d love it.
The box of ornaments are adorable. I’m not a real ornament fan, but those are cute.
Very cool ornaments 7:56 23:10 the bicycle was cute
I agree about the prices too high,I don't resell,but too much for a "thrift"I wouldn't pay that
Great finds even if a little hall.❤
The Goodwill in Oregon are so much better than than overs I have noticed on resellers videos across the country. The prices are up everywhere.
Absolutely agree. Wish they did discounts on Southern CA.!!! Think they are charging too much. And to charge what they are for broken stuff is ridiculous.
The area in WV , where I am just stopped the senior discount altogether. They have never had color tags that were 50 percent off either. Some items seem somewhat reasonable, and other prices are outrageous!! They are hurting themselves, badly!!!
I still have to put away my Christmas decor; tree is bare but needs to be taken apart and boxed up. Have to add ornaments and all the figurative special ornaments boxed up; the bins are in the storage/laundry room, the room is a total nightmare; so hopefully my Daughter can get to it tomorrow, so the ornaments don't get broken. I will be happy just to at least not have them out in my sight.
Hope you had a great New Year!
We have value Village here in Canada and they are getting so expensive you can actually buy new at a lower price on some items from the dollar stores. You really need to be aware of prices even just for something as simple as glasses or mugs. ❤
I used to shop my goodwill every week. Now I might go once a month. Out store has gotten filthy and so disorganized. Yes the prices have gone up....
Yes, the prices have increased. I haven’t frequented Gooddwill in several years months .
Their prices are terrible. As a buyer I myself would go say something to the manager. Your reference to the dolls as the new KISS band was funny. Lol I like that band
The cast iron candle holder had the roughness from the transition of shape from square to the smoother pointed part or it was made in two pieces and they attached the rougher part of the bottom to the smoother top part. It didn’t look like a repair.
I didn't think it was a repair just not as quality of workmanship as I would have liked to see
Your so right on Goodwill
Danni, I rarely go to Goodwill anymore. The prices are just too high and it always amazes me that they will price broken items as high as they do. I'm in Southern California and our thrift stores are already on the high end and Goodwill stores tend to be the worst.
I totally agree with everything you said about this thrift company! However your goodwill on a bad day is 10x better than my goodwill on any day! Mine in Conroe Tx. Used to be a very good store and now lately I don’t even bother, it’s overpriced broken and full of junk, especially Temu , or SHEIN china crude, to be nice, no bueno, and a complete waste of time 😢😢plus they did take my senior discount away, as soon as I finally qualified. Good bye goodwill, what a shame. The Pierrot kiss rock band was hilarious, you were really on a roll tonight, I had fun just listening to you, love your channel, garage sale season is coming, I sure am ready! Thanks Danni, and Happy New Year.
I absolutely agree with you. The Goodwills in my area have lost their minds in terms of pricing. You can only find deals when they clearly could not identify a decent piece.
As a result, I now find my best deals at auction estate sales, local antique malls, and tag sales. I've just about had it will Goodwill, as they appear to be going down the same road as a certain other donation reseller that went bankrupt, for getting greedy.
If you're not already shopping shopGW you need to be. I just went to the local LV stuff - the cat face bracelet 925 doesn't even have a bid and most starting prices beat in store. Local pick up and there's no shipping just handling which seems to be a flat $3. Ours combines the fee (we're a flat $3.99 but if I wait and pay for 5 things at once I get a flat $5 that includes all 5 items) I think you'll love it.
Blessings!
The giant box of Balsam Hill ornaments might have been a good find. Singles sell for $25-60
I’m so sorry Danni I just don’t care for Goodwill. It’s donated to them and they have the nerve to charge those prices. I won’t even donate to them anymore. I do love when you go to the estate sales. I still watch your videos because I never know what you’re going to find. Much Love Thanks for sharing your life with us. 🙏🏻❤️
You are saying everything that we are thinking. Prices are too high at Goodwill and Savers is right there with them. Not cool. Love your videos. Wicked informative as well as fun and entertaining. Well done, Miss Dani.
I agree 100% with you! I feel we the resellers are their bread and butter! They look on eBay to see what sellers are getting and forget that they get their inventory for FREE!!! Very foolish on their part. Like you said , we would buy way more if the prices were better. If I am going in as a person shopping for myself, the prices are still too high. They need to change their marketing strategy. Plus they get soooo much. They need to move it out faster….by lowering the prices!
I only do estate sales, online and in person. Greater profits and greater quality. You didn't show us your new collections at home 😢
Hello 👋 pretty lady how are you today and the weather condition like?
I like my local re-usr shop. A different local charity every 2 weeks and goods coming from individuals who wsnt to clear out their/their loved ones home so a good chance of quality items.
You're telling the truth.
Another thing is that the store I go to by my house, the pricing is all over the place. I can pick up a coffee mug one day for 89¢, a week later, a similar mug is $2.99. Makes no sense.
Wow ! The price are really getting! To much for used stuff very strange 😮
The box of ornaments are adorable. I’m not a real ornament fan, but those are cute.
Unfortunately, many of those prices are higher than what you would find at Ross. I know our Goodwill in California is ridiculous.
As a customer not a reseller, I wouldn’t pay those prices either. The salaries at corporate are pretty good.
No, They don't want resellers. I have seen employees on U Tube saying they are trying to cut out resellers.
Corporate executives say otherwise
Love purple pumpkin oh that cattttt such a shame
Went to l9cal Goodwill last week. Found Dollartree $1.25 items for $2.50 and up. Also found items with store tags with prices lower than the Goodwill price.
Danni, I was waiting for the exciting project or something you’re making now that you said you would show us at the end that you’re excited about, but you didn’t! Maybe on the next one? ❤
I'm sorry! I will make a community post!
I was especially interested to see what project you were going to show us at then end of your video, did I miss it or miss understand 😞❤
I forgot!
❤️❤️❤️ Loved! Yes, indeed prices are far higher then what they were back then. It sure doesn't seem greedy on resellers more seems so with Goodwills the ones getting greedy. Prices need not be higher. Stuff will always be accumulating and have to get rid of Goodwill has nothing to compete with; that's the magic of Goodwill unique pieces for every persons wants. What if something like a donation item given at counter from customer when paying takes off 5 dollars off, or like if your total comes out to 50 dollars example 5 dollars off, or buy 10 items receive any One item of your choice free they were donations after all. Give and receive might help a bit here. That way Goodwill received something new to sell and customer leaves happy at the same time. Maybe just maybe there are so many possibilities to ponder with Goodwill stores. ❤❤❤❤❤
Our Goodwills do not have discounts or bags. Bring your own or carry them in your hands.
The company I worked for for over 20 years was associated with the blind and they didn’t get much but the owners had plenty. The only reason I stayed was we got first pick and cheap prices. They stopped that and lost good employees so now no more stores!!
Good points The goodwill by me just opened not too long ago and I heard a woman ask will there be discounts coming soon, the lady said no discounts anymore…You missed telling us your new obsession
It's sad to hear they've stopped doing discounts. I'll make a community post about my new obsession!
I stopped shopping at GW years ago. However, my local charity thrifts have all gone off their rockers by increasing their prices and my fave just got rid of their loyalty program! Love backpack purses and have several.
Balsam Hill is a very very good quality ornament. They resell for nice money.
I live in Michigan, very few goodwill stores. The prices are sooo high you can’t buy anything. An example, an ordinary cookie jar was $49.99. I think I could buy one new for less.
Dani, you didn’t show us what your new obsession is?? You said to remind you if you didn’t !! 😊 😉
Coming soon!
Thanks 👍
Now I can't afford to shop on ebay with the shipping so high! I just hold out for thrift stores, it's still less money.
If that's the GW in my old neighborhood, they've always been over priced and a lot of damaged merch (as you've stated). So I visited that location a few times and then stopped. They need to stop the comp retail prices. Just like 'antiques' dealers listing prices from antiques roadshow. The antique stores and malls then become museums.
The thrift store nearby here in Florida raised their prices by 600%. Needless to say everyone is complaining nobody’s buying very much it’s become like an expensive antique store so I did speak to the manager and he just shrugged, but I heard from someone that they are losing a lot of business. I don’t know what they’re thinking.
It's all relative. Some Goodwill's I go to have low prices, others have higher prices. I went to a Grand Opening last week and another one today and they told us they price up stuff and have no color tag for the opening. One had ok to decent prices while the other was ridiculous. But I did score some good deals on shoes and the cashier rang up an untagged item as another item I had. Just depends on which one you go to.
The balsam hill ornaments are a really good Christmas brand… those boxes are around £600 in the uk 😮
Is your daughter safe from the fires in CA 🙏🏻
Yes thank you for asking!
@ hallelujah
Prices have been like that in our local hospice shop in New Plymouth - New Zealand. They keep their heads in the sand over the fact that you need to keep the prices low and stock will go out the door. So much is dumped because they are too greedy..
All of the goodwills by me, they don’t hang the textiles. They are wrapped in plastic wrap so unless I open it, i can’t see what it is or what the condition is.
