How is the autoclave performing? Can you post an update video? You make great videos by the way. They are really helpful and entertaining at the same time. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for your support. So glad that you received the 150L autoclave finally. So wonderful the unboxing video is! Looking forward to next cooperation with you !
Now a days i think china is actually decent at manufacturing stuff, at least industrial stuff like motors, pumps, etc. they have really upped their game this last decade compared to before.
The vent is not for overheat protection, it's designed to vent out air inside drum, so that you get more saturated steam instead of heated air. The vent is automatically controlled and it will stop venting once the internal temperature reached slightly higher than 100°C.
We have similar. 6Kw single phase (220V here) and 150L. It needs 6 awg wire and 40 amp breaker or the wires get real hot when running long cycles (it's 28.5 amps !). be aware if you over load it to a maximum the bags won't "breathe" when exhausting and steam won't get in the bags well enough. Underload (we run 8 5 lbs spawn bags is all...but they are very sterile when done). Also, be aware that the exhaust solenoid switch is normally closed for the venting. Soo, if the power cuts off mid run, it shuts off the exhaust valve and then the whole pressure vessel cools and vacuums (can damage unit and sensors). If the power gets cut off after it is at temperature be sure to open the lid as soon as the temp hits like 98-100C. The manual sucks but you'll eventually figure out the exhaust cycle settings (took us 3 nerve wrecking days!). Someone needs to rewrite the settings manual and do a video on how to change the settings. Let me know if you get stuck. Also the welds suck (they rust due to cheap rods used with iron in them) and will fail earlier as a results. You'll see the rust on the welds quickly. It's rated for 7 years BUT that is only if you change the water after every cycle (a lot of extra work) and don;t run acid or base producing steam like mushroom bags in it. We've had ours two year and it won't last past 3 or 4 safely is my bet. The failure is going to be catastrophic is my bet if we keep it a full 7 years. lol
@@OakandSpore BTW, there is a 400L single phase 6Kw that can be special ordered from Satrise and others (SW Mushrooms has the chamber in his video but I don't think his is single phase), but it will take a long time to reach temp if loaded. It is the biggest single phase autoclave that I could find in the world (and is special order due to the low/weird power input).
@@OakandSpore Oh, and the factory vent settings suck for mushrooms bags. The first vent time is ok to get the ambient air out, but you want at least 4 seconds of vent time to allow the bags to "breathe" when cooking and that is when cooking a single layer in each drum (ie 4 x 5 lbs bags). We run at 121C for 3 hours but have run higher temps (but it damages proteins and sugars more)
@@silverleapers Hey man, would you mind sharing the details on that 400L unit? I order my bags from Satrise, I've been talking to my contact about a single phase autoclave, largest they can do in 6kw is 150L...
Can you please help me, i have same one, and have a problem with bag bursting. I belive because autoclave immidately realese pressure after finnishing sterilization cycle 🤦♂️ and yea, manual sucks 🤮
Chur bro I've added the notification bell so I never miss another clip. Nice bit of kit. Be great to see it fire up for the first time. Not sure we are still getting free trade from Aus anymore lol. Are you going to do your bulk substrate in this beast and ditch your atmosphere set up all together if it's pinging? Impressive come up bro. Chur
Hey man, had my eye on this exact unit for the past 12 months. Are you using this for substrate or spawn? And are you running it at 30psi? How do the bags hold up?
This is a great review! I just ordered an autoclave simmilar to this one. How loud was yours when you ran it? Did it periodically vent steam while it was running?
Oh man........ do you know that its 6:30am on Sunday morning in my part of Canada. Congrats on the first made in China purchase that you seem happy with !!
I have either the exact same autoclave or a slight variation and the electrician coming tomorrow to set it up on its own circuit (giving it a little head room with 20A.) Super eager (and a little nervous) to see how it performs ☺️ Best of luck to us 🙌 Please share you go with yours.
@@OakandSpore would you say it's less energy efficient than your big ol steaming tub? Also, is there any chance I could ask you some questions for like an hour in discord one time? I'd be happy to pay for your time! Just made some nice gains in crypto and looking to expand my size a bit and go full time mushrooms here in South Australia! 🇦🇺🐨🦘
Overall, good welding. The placement of the electronics in my opinion is poor. The fan exacerbate the lack of shielding on the bottom. I also agree, I don't Ike that tubing. If I were to compare it to an old dental sterilizer I own because the electronics failed the dentist, it has the same setup to have failures. Except is is vertical, not horizontal. You might notice that the housing only serves to trap heat and hide condensation. I admire the size of this pressure vessel though! That might speed up cycles!
found this video, it looks like it automatically lets off the pressure when the cycle is done, can only hope that its slow enough so that your bags do not expand & fail due to the quick pressure loss. ua-cam.com/video/ecicP-RtD7M/v-deo.html
The US should have a free trade deal with New Zealand and most if not all other nations. What the heck is wrong with our politicians? Sterilizer looks pretty good, I think I saw the same one on Alibaba last time I looked. Nice!
I think we never got a free trade deal becuase the french government bombed a ship in a NZ dock, and when NZ asked America to flex their muscle and tell the french off, America wouldn't. So the NZ pretty much banned all US ships from entering NZ ports, and the rest is pretty much history...
The Presto 23qrt is $300AU. The exact same Presto without "made in USA" is $90 free shipping from China. I buy loads of shit from China, like Stihl 2 stroke motor carb's &or kits. Same deal they are made in the same factories just without the Stihl logo, dirt cheap, with no shipping fees. People put loads of shit on China but most of their household goods all made in China. Be good to know exactly why you purchased it & how much versus making your own from a s/steel 45 gal. Seems like not a lot of capacity tbh.
Yeah, here in NZ nearly every product you buy is Chinese made. This autoclave is just for my spawn, not for bull substrate. I have a much bigger steamer setup for this.
mm i would have chinese quality over US quality any day... However would probably have european before both. Even the latest and greatest Teslas ex China are ranked above the US ones.
The Chinese have definitely gotten better at making stuff over the years, but it's still no where near the quality of American, Canadian, European or even Japanese. Many of us have no choice but to buy from the Chinese because the price fits the tab, especially if you are trying to start or expand a small business.
Honestly the USA does not have a good manufacturing reputation here and pricey to boot. Germans do though, but not cheap. Chinese cheaper but quality is a gamble.
