This is just ridiculous. He was literally unguardable. I think his speed and quickness are underrated, as crazy as that sounds. It looks like everyone is moving in slow motion when he's running the fast break.

Had the pleasure of watching Allen's career here in Philly - my favorite athlete to ever play in this town. Every game at least once he did something unbelievable. Fearless, artistic, tough, competitive - the best.

gotta love marc zumoff on all these comcast calls. Iverson was the best I ever seen growing up, he was my generation's jordan.. in philly at least in the early 2000s. I was at the game where he scored his career high against the Orlando Magic, it was electric

Yes he was my favorite athlete and I was a huge Sixers fan...kids these days just don't get how much of a phenomenon this guy was and just how much faster and quicker he was than every other professional athlete out there on the court...just listen to the announcers calling his games especially his first few years in the league. The excitement is so real.

Exacly , the owner was a real cheap ass and that's the real reason the players could get it done . The shame of the cheap bastard , to think that A. I could do it by him self . ☹️☹️

I mean, they did try in spurts. Iverson and Stackhouse, Derrick Coleman, Larry Hughes. The big names they did have, just never worked out.
Iverson and Stackhouse looked like it had potential to be nasty. Am I wrong or the year we drafted Stack, we could have had KG?
Hindsight is 20/20, but Allen and Garnett for 10 years is pretty sick.

What's crazy is attacked Dikembe HARD and layed it up over him a FEW TIMES,
Iverson was short but he had large hands and a very wide wing span for his height
Also look how EASY he dunked,
    He is 5-10 155 pounds
    Super HUMAN

The thing the analytics will fail to realize is how much of this man's game came from mid to long range, and the fact this guy was too small to post up, let along dunk as a primary scoring type he's just coming down the court in your face straight up, they knew he was taking the shot and still couldn't stop him.

I remember when the Detroit Pistons traded A
I to the Nuggets for Iverson. My buddys (we were playing cards when it was announced) My buddies wrre ooooong and aweing about the trade, saying that the Nuggets were going to be so awesome. Meanwhile, I stated, Detroit just won the N.B.A. title. They got rid of their problem (Iverson) and added a much better player, a player that actually plays both ways and plays team ball! Then i told them that the Nuggets would "NEVER WORK", you have 2 of the biggest guns in NBA history playing together and neither one of them care or even try to play team ball.
I was mocked all night long but the rest is history and we all know what happened. Detroit won it all, and I think Chauncey even won finals MVP. Of course the Iverson/ Carmelo pairing was a disaster.
Iverson was an INCREDIBLE talent, with TONS AND TONS of God given basketball talent. He may be the quickest player to ever play the game and was practically impossible to guard. However, he never became the player he should have been. He took WAAAY too many poor shots, making him a career, 42% shooter from the field and a 31% shooter from the 3 point line. Those are poor #s, ESPECIALLY for someone eho some call an all time great. Watching him play is what his team mates did, as he often just played 1 on 5 basketball. The list of players who hated playing with him and had poor statistical seasons along side Iverson is long. Jerry Stackhouse and (Vince Carter come to mind) He was a coach killer, who never listened to any coach or player for that matter. Incredible talent, but his "we're talking about practice meme, is classic and describes how Iverson played during his career.

Basketball was better when they had BIG men....it made it more fun to watch a little guy like A.I. dominate.

If Iverson was like 6'4 or something, he'd be dunking more like Westbrook and Wade.

Talking basketball, scoring first mindset style players that i've watched and would model my game... Iverson is better than Jordan and Kobe... At least more entertaining and more valuable to a franchise... He didn't complain like Jordan and Kobe but he played the same way based on the teams he was on... To me, if you want to learn how to play based on a scorer... I'd study Iverson's game way more than Kobe or Jordan because the way Kobe and Jordan played, it won't leave you with many happy teammates... same talent level...Just not as selfish...Just facts from what i've seen...
