I'm a Canes fan. I was at this game. I've been to my fare share of college and pro games. The crowd noise when the Canes were on offense was nearly unbearable. I was standing on the hill in the end zone. It was really hot & humid that day as well. It was a great game. Not because my team ended up winning. The game was great because both teams left it all on the field. They didn't cheat the fans. I have been to several college football games since this one. None of them as a whole compare to this college football experience. The Clemson fans made it a hostile environment while being hospitable at the same time. If that makes any kind of sense. Beautiful campus, passionate fans and a great school.
You're right nothing compares and Miami played great that day. Few teams would've had a chance in that stadium that day. I remember the Texas A&M announcer saying the noise level in Death Valley blew away anything he'd heard in over 30 years of game calling. Two years ago, I talked to three Louisville fans who said " this is the loudest crowd and everything else is a distant second"
Clemson University holds the loudest noise record breaking the newly set record at Oregon. Clemson's Death Valley made an extrordinary 132.8 db's during the 2007 Boston College game. This surpassed LSU's earthquake set years prior.
I've been to many concerts and college football games. On this day was the loudest crowd College football has seen. The fans and the players there at that game will remember it forever. I was there with my 10 year old son and friend Wade Caldwell. Clemson lost in 2 OTS that day.
There is nothing like GAMEDAY in CLEMSON. Thousands of beautiful Clemson girls tailgating on our beautiful campus and on the lake, drinks in hand...the hill, the rock, the most exciting 25 seconds in college football.....i love it.
Now that, sir, is a fan base. Loud, proud, loyal and rowdy - just how we like it in the south. I wouldn't hit yourselves over the head for this loss. You put a rather cocky miami team through hellfire and brimstone for that win. I hope I can make it up to South Carolina for a game, but for now, I'll have to settle watching you boys play at Doak. See you in the fall.
The reason the stadium isnt filled up on games that arent that big is the fact that Clemson's upper deck is brutal at the top. You can barely see the game it is so far up...plus it is just plain scary to walk up the steps to get there. So alot of people just come to the games and tailgate, get sloppy, and just sit outside the whole time and maybe catch it on a tv they brough or listen to it on the radio. Clemson fans do show up though.
hmmm....I was on the field for this game (first and only time so far) and I remember thinking it was loud, but not as loud as being in the stands at other games. Glad to know it was a historically loud game. All I remember is getting yeld at for drinking a band member's water! haha.....Go Canes!
Dominated? There we 13 lead changes. That's nowhere near domination. You all escaped Miami with a win, be happy, but don't break your arm patting yourself on the back over a 3 pt OT win.
Yeah Miami won, but this was still the first Clemson game I ever went to (I was a freshman), and it was the loudest...even though it was a triple overtime loss, it was still pretty awesome for a first game, couldn't ask for more exciting. And the point of this video is to show how the networks tone down the crowd.
The "other Death Valley"? You might want to check your own school history or ask a knowledgeable LSU fan. BTW, kind of ironic that Clemson's Death Valley is louder than LSU's Deaf Valley, according to the ole dB meter. Don't you think? ;)
Hey man. This comment is 12 years old. It’s 2020, so i assume your referring to the 2008 season. Well we fired Tommy Bowden, Dabo Swinney has now won 6 ACC titles and 2 National Titles.
Prove it!!! You can't cause, it didn't happen. Came close but didn't happen. Another note: Death Valley is not manufactured to do so, just happened to happen. Sort of like say, Red Rocks.
@sidearm100 National championships don't mean anything in this one. It doesn't take much to get Jacory to throw an interception, and in an atmosphere louder than the horseshoe, where he threw 3, he will not be successful. Tigers beat duh who? Thug U in this one.
@worldofartists I am well aware of what Tiger Stadium was originally called. I was saying we are the real Death Valley because we are louder and it's widely known we have the toughest home venue in college football. As for last years peach bowl, congratulations. It only took poor play calling to allow Clemson to win. Enjoy watching another sec team win the NC.
+sam pafc I'm a soccer fan too and no it won't compare because they are both different, soccer fans sing and football fans get loud as shit so you can hear the play call... You can't compare two different sports that's like saying the atmosphere for hockey is better than baseball

And super loud!

Come back soon
I have been on that field during game time and not many speakers do this justice as to how loud it actually is. But this is great!

You still alive?
I wish Clemson and Miami played each other every year, they always have the best games

i was at this game, it was one of the best games i have ever went to
I'm mad as a Lifelong Clemson fan we lost this game.

Wow this is old
Death Valley is full of passionate fans. Was Matt Ryan's first ever road start two years ago.
damn, I wonder how loud it was being there.
Best football game that I have ever seen in person, so loud..
@@xXxCLEMSONxXxdid you rlly comment that
Get ready to get that loud again when we play Miami at home this week. With a different outcome this time. Go Tigers!

It's called Rage Defense by the Clemson Tiger Band.

sorry to tell you LSU's is Deaf Valley and Clemson's is Death Valley. Two different words.
awesome clip--- great idea...i hate when they tone down the crowd noise but jack up the car commercials...GOOD JOB whovever posted this...
Clemson averaged 81,000 fans last year. That's 100% of capacity. Who doesn't show up?
everyone knows that clemson had that game one if chansi had caught and next of all that next year they beat the hurricanes at miami
Ready to ROCK THE VALLEY on Saturday. The noise will no doubt be deaffening! GO TIGERS!!!!

hell yeah man, hell yeah
Actually when lsu got the name death valley it was because how piss poor the stadium was.
"a rather cocky miami team"
Its the hurricanes, we define swagger. That's what 5 national championships will do to you.

Clemson WINS ACC THIS YEAR
Hey man. This comment is 12 years old. It’s 2020, so i assume your referring to the 2008 season. Well we fired Tommy Bowden, Dabo Swinney has now won 6 ACC titles and 2 National Titles.
who won this???
sweet lol, but what was the point of this video
blame it on miami's referees.
Prove it!!! You can't cause, it didn't happen. Came close but didn't happen. Another note: Death Valley is not manufactured to do so, just happened to happen. Sort of like say, Red Rocks.
bahaha...How did that Peach taste? LSwho?
Either Clemson, Oregon, or Penn State. SEC crowds are overrated in my eyes. You guys are RAUCOUS, though.

@rjfoste Like i said, the REAL death valley is in Baton Rouge. Are you guys gonna win the ACC this year? Heck, are you gonna be ranked this year?

Lol. Why dont you ever show the end of that game? O wait cause we won. lmao. all clemson has is the crowd. Garbage school.
This didnt age well lol
Wow this is the best atmosphere that American Football has? XD
Idiot want me to show u better?
***** do it, still guarantee it won't compare to any real football atmospheres.
+sam pafc I'm a soccer fan too and no it won't compare because they are both different, soccer fans sing and football fans get loud as shit so you can hear the play call... You can't compare two different sports that's like saying the atmosphere for hockey is better than baseball
