No way Rose Bowl wasn't top 5... you got the most iconic CFB stadium and bowl game in history, with two of the most winningest programs in the sport, Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh, two generational coaches, the greatest BIG 10 school v greatest SEC school, two classic uniforms in the maize & blue v the white and crimson, the fact that its not only the rose bowl with Michigan, a big 10 who traditionally plays at rose bowl anually anyways, who has made most RB appearances ever behind USC. You have players like Jalen Milroe, JJ McCarthy, and Blake Corum, a primetime playoff matchup on a sunny day in LA on New Year's Day, 96k watching from the stadium and at one point over 32 million watching across America. This game not only goes to overtime but ends on 4th and goal on the 3 yard line and you did not even put this into the top 8? Crazy. The storylines in this game also... Jim Harbaugh suspensions, Michigan "cheating", going into a 3rd straight CFP and going undefeated in regular season with one of the greatest defenses in recent history, and Bama whom were 1-1 record-wise and benched Milroe at one point. Then you have the miraculous throw from Milroe to Bond against Auburn on 4th and 31 that kept their season alive and them upsetting the #1 Georgia to controversially advance past FSU to play the Wolverines... I am of course biased as a Michigan fan but Bama is my most hated team, so how this wasn't at least the eight best game this season (many think it to be no 1) is mind boggling. Just because LSU and Ole Miss nearly 100 points total on the game and was offense-driven doesn't mean it was the "best" game. Sorry for that long ass comment
All great games, but if you have the Rose Bowl at #9, you're nuts. Maybe not the best played or the most fireworks, but two of the most legendary programs in history in the sport's most iconic game with a trip to the natty on the line? That alone is enough for at least top five, not to mention how it all played out.
We can quibble over the rankings, I personally think the Rose Bowl should be higher, but damn that #1 game LSU/Ole Miss was incredible. This makes me sad as it reminds me how much I miss college football and it's only been a few weeks since it ended... Go Blue
ok, first of all, the Rose Bowl at 9 is a travesty, but secondly, I thought for SURE the Sugar Bowl would be on top. I was so confident. To not even have it in the top 10 at all is insane. Take out Kentucky Clemson or one of the Kstate games. Sheesh.
Yikes I forgot about some this year. OSU/ND. Stanford/Colorado was crazy. Your #1 absolutely has no business being #1. If you’re going for a crazy ending, there were crazier. If you’re going for impact, there were more impactful. It can be top 10 but should not be #1 that’s nuts.
That #1 definatly is #1 That game was back and forth and was a nasty struggle for both sides the whole game And the final 8 minutes was the best final 8 minutes of football all year Just say you dislike the SEC and get it over with
I remember watching the Oregon Washington game on my couch and thinking how I just witnessed an instant classic. That game to me was the game of the year but you can't tell me that the Rose Bowl wasn't one of the top games of the season. I'm not saying that as a Michigan fan either, just saying that as a fan in general.
I think that they did the Clemson, Kentucky game so dirty I went to it irl and it was insane. They just showed the scoring to really watch that game you can’t watch the highlights you have to watch the play by play
I totally love college football and it is my favorite straight facts and can't wait until 2024 college football season start and that is straight facts 💯
Rose Bowl should have been #1. If I made Power Rankings that was #1-#2. My coaching rankings had it as #1-#2 (though reversed and Harbaugh is tied with Kirby Smart for #2) The most iconic venue in all of college sports. And it went to overtime for the cherry on top. That game was an all time classic.
I agree with all the games on this list. But the rose bowl and Michigan vs Ohio St both need to be top 5. The 2 most watched games in college football this year (except for the championship I think?)
i cannot believe im about to say this because i am not a fan of either of these teams but i think the texas vs alabama game, that i think was week 2 or 3, should be on this list!!
I’m as biased as they come (Michigan fan) BUT objectively, Rose bowl has to be number 1 or 2. Greatest defense in recent history, storylines, and two of the premier programs in CFB. And to mention it’s not often that a game that hits the under is one of the best of the year
As a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners fan, that game against Texas will always be one of my favorite games of all time but on the other hand though, Michigan beating Ohio State makes my blood boil. Michigan will always be one of my most hated teams ever. F**k Michigan
The pac 12 championship game in Vegas has most of these games beat. Washington was disrespected again with a 9.5 point underdog Washington beat Oregon 2 times in the same year. #1 game.
Rose bowl top 3, Oregon Washington number 1, ole miss lsu not even top 5, Colorado tcu should be on here, sugar bowl should be on here, iron bowl top 3
Not enough defense in that Ole Miss and LSU game. I couldn't tell if we were looking at elite offenses or horrible defenses, probably a bit of both. I'd probably have: 1. Rose Bowl 2. Washington v Oregon Part 1 3. Red River Shootout
Oregon-UW and Rose Bowl were both wayyyyy better than Ole Miss-LSU. More points does not equal better football games. That was atrociously played by both defenses. Not all high-scoring games are like that. But that was ugly. A good game, but not top 10
So everybody seems to be harping on the Rose Bowl being down at number nine, and rightfully so that’s top 5 at worst, but I’m gonna harp on how Ole Miss and LSU is not the number one game. Track meet does not equal best game man. Game had almost zero defense, besides that hit on Daniels, and that’s not even that special cause Daniels was putting himself into sketchy hits a bunch this year. Hell the ending wasn’t even really crazy or anything. The stakes weren’t really there. It was a good game sure, but best of the year? Nah.
It had defense Its just the offense was much better in a game where offense has a nod Hell the Ole Miss defense is what ended the game You wanna harp on that being "game of the year" mf nothing was better The Rose bowl was good but not immaculate I found it hard to watch Milroe and the center being ass the entire game personally And if homeboy likes a good ole fashioned shootout between the SEC's best offenses then he can like it

lol great game i was there
Completely agree. Whoever made the list is an Ole Miss fan?
Or an SEC fan who doesn't like the big 10
Agreed
After that, I guess I could agree why the Rose Bowl is in top 2. Maybe 1…
Rose bowl top 3 .. look at the venue, teams, stakes and literally came down to last play.
Easily.
Rose Bowl is 1 it was NC game period
Forgot the historical significance before and after the game
People just assume lots of scoring = great game. But these were two of the best defenses in the country and they dueled to the very end
How the fuck is the Rose Bowl 9?

no, the Rose Bowl was better than the Sugar Bowl, most everyone would agree unless you're a texas or Washington fan.

Texas and Alabama need to be here

Michigan bama at 9 is crazyyyy
famous toastery bowl got snubbed, 28-0 comeback was insane
Sugar Bowl and PAC 13 Championship Should be Up Here
