I grew up around there. That cafe's had many incarnations and was a Little Chef when I was a kid (60/70's). Worked in Berinsfield for 10 years until 2005.

I wondered where this place was. Found it when I went for a wonder, liked it, forgot the name and could never find it again when I was back down there.

Great cafe! They used to hold a Bikers Night on a Monday, which used to be frequented by the local constabulary, cars and bike cops on all approaches and the odd Constable in civvies checking the bikes out. Great food and atmosphere though.

Good to see you on your own bike. Minus 11 and snow here. Even if it warms up there’s 2 feet of grit on the roads. Biking season delayed. When it gets going there is a bike run every Tuesday to a place that serves real burgers unlike that thing your mate had, lol. Full of Harley riders. Make sure you get to Squires in Sherburn in Elmet when you tour Yorkshire. Weekends are packed out, you may need a disguise

You should organise a TMF fan club ride out to a place like this... perhaps do an outside broadcast..... I'd be there!

Too right I’m looking forward to summer, spring hasn’t been much yet! The Saturday before last I rode from Norfolk down to Rykas Cafe at Box Hill, my bike said it was 10C but I’d forgotten how cold you can feel at motorway speeds after 100 miles or so!

I used to live in Stadhampton before moving back to the Emerald Isle. Great little village and the Crazy Bear hotel/restaurant is a fantastic place to eat and drink - best G&T I have ever drunk - well worth a visit. You also have Martin Baker (ejector seats) test site just down the road if you fancy retro fitting one into your plane... Lastly, great roads south of S'hampton towards Henley. Thanks for bring the memories flooding back - a cool little place.

Thing about "Biker Cafes" is, the're not much fun if you turn up by yourself, great to visit with a couple of mates. Whereas stopping off at a local country pub when on a long solo trip somewhere can be a real pleasure.

Why is it that biker cafes all around the world have the worst car parks - broken up surfaces that resemble bush tracks that require you to be riding an adventure bike. I remember driving in Oxfordshire during my trip to England in 2006, the roads whilst narrow were fun to drive and the motor way was excellent. Next visit (?) will have some time on a bike.

    • @TheMissendenFlyer

Thanks yet again M.F.; I was expecting to hear about somewhere new, then when you pulled into H's I remembered visiting in 2002. I'd just bought a new 1300 Pan European and I pulled in for breakfast on the way up to Anglesea from the Isle of Wight. Great breakfast, the black pudding obviously did me the world of good, and I managed to pick up an XXL all in one waterproof suit in the motorcycle shop next door ( not Infinity then) reduced from £75 to £25. Great bargain, even though I have only ever lent it to others. I know what you mean about being glad to being back on the GS. It is the one bike I feel happy to go anywhere on now. On the subject of sat nav, I think too many people are unfair to their systems by expecting them to plan their routes. I always plot my route and tell it which way I want to go. It always does exactly what it's told and I am always happy. (Who wants to miss a nice wiggly bit?) Keep 'em coming please.

I’m pretty blessed for biker cafes with Rykas, Newlands and Loomies all within easy reach. I have stopped at the H Cafe a couple of times on rides through Henley on Thames. It’s a nice ride out that way. The last time was interesting as it had the biggest number of super spirts bikes I’ve ever seen. The downside were the guys doing burn outs along the road in front of the cafe. That was the point we made our retreat before the boys in blue turned up.

Good vlog, interesting in that I rode by that very cafe on my 2015 Street Triple ABS at about 3pm yesterday, 1st April (the day you posted this vlog) and here you touched on very topics going through my head during my ride - that is I must get a sat nav on my bike soon, plus I must get heated grips before next winter.
I didn't stop at this cafe because my Sunday ride had accidentally become a lot longer than envisaged due to not knowing Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire very well, plus I was just riding the roads without having a planned route, so at this point I was thinking about heading home for a late Sunday lunch with family.
Fun it was, but a bit too cold for my ~140 miles loop out of London on a naked without heated grips or heated seat, so once I got down to Berkshire it was a bee line home on M4 (even colder but hey ho).

Beware, it gets super busy at Hcafe on Monday evenings in midd summer, and if you've parked your bike too close to the actual cafe it can be difficult to get it out because of all the other bikes. I park on the outskirts and is much easier to ride away.

That cafe is Jacks Hill cafe. Been there since 1940. One question Tmf do you ride with contact lenses? I just started and I tell you what it’s amazing no faffing or steaming up. It’s so nice to not look through glass for a change.

Hi TMF, You were in my neck of the woods! That route could be an interesting one for you to get to Blade in Abingdon via the back roads. I prefer Jacks Hill cafe myself. If you are ever on the A436 at Chatcombe in Gloucestershire, the Cotswold Diner is well worth a visit. A Bus converted in to an American Diner, food & service top notch!
