I love your Sailing doodles channel but I work at EAA Airventure since 1985 and was so pleased you took the time to visit Oshkosh! I am glad a seasoned flyer as yourself, found tme to enjoy the Sport aviation!
I have been there a couple of times and was amazed at the attendees from around the world. Folks from your country, Australia, South Africa, and European countries, all enjoyable to visit with. Of course the airplanes - something flying all the time all day.
The design requirements were for a long range escort for B-29 raids on Japan. The distance required more fuel than a P-51 could carry and 2 pilots. It was used as a night fighter. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-82_Twin_Mustang
Flying at 9 feet and 120 spraying crops is much cooler than flying through 'smoke rings', and it keeps food on our tables. Those guys do an awesome and valuable job!!
Yes learn the shuttle system. First time at Osh we didn’t know about the shuttles, after we got our tickets we walked all the way to the flight line and everywhere else that day.
Since 2020 is canceled I was checking out last year's videos. Most of the repeat attendees that I know actually don't pay that much attention to the airshows and that's what most videos seem to concentrate on. This is the first one that I've seen that actually makes an effort to show what it's like to go. Thanks! If you do a 2021 version, drive in campground, theater in the woods, ultralights and just walking through the rows while narrating would make a nice follow on. Nice job!
Hi Bobby, Just watched Oshkosh 2019 Sights and Sounds. Very nice video! I started flying with my father back in 1955 or so and got my Learners permit in about 1958 in Orange Mass. I do know you and Laura have broken up for some reason. Through the years I went after my license for gliders in southern Salem NH until it became unenforceable after I heard that my first daughter needed heart surgery. That ended my flying!
What a great summary of EAA Oshkosh by both of you! You really captured a lot of the highlights! Smokejumpers, Warbirds, Homebuilts, STOL aircraft, Mil Air flights! Hoping the SamsonSky Switchblade finally becomes the first viable flying sportscar! Well done!
It’s amazing how you pick the stuff I like to see. I met one of the Honda jet Engineers while living in Greensboro NC couple years back. Couldn’t get a tour it was a well kept secret.
Hi Bobby, Oshkosh has been on my bucket list since I was a kid in the seventies and I wanted to take my Dad but he passed away before that could happen. Best Oshkosh vid I have seen. Thankyou for showing the Dooms and some of the really cool planes.
GREAT video that goes the extra mile to show some of the practical nuts and bolts side of the air show. A perfect blend with Laura as icing on the cake!
Great vid. You need to go to Olney TX and get familiar with crop dusting up close, and visit the Air Tractor factory and take a ride in a AT802 trainer. You will have a blast there at the factory. A great TX company.
Happy you saw and noted the Flying Cowboys. They are all from west of the Rockies and of course flew out. Look up Trent Palmer who put together a series of videos about the adventure, as did a couple others. They will be a Reno Air races and perform their STOL drags.
Great video guys,,,, Looked around for y’all for two days and forgot to check my computer... Saw your announcement about the meet and greet the day after you posted it... My bad for missing the chance to shake your hand and get a hug from Laura.. Keep it up,,, Jerry Gonsoulin
That Waco was gorgeous ! That vintage top-wing, with the forward-looking “scanning system” in the nose was nice ! Couldn’t tell if that was the original pillows, or modern, but cool either way. Wish you could have shown that red/polished 195. I’ve seen that airplane and love it ! Thanks guys for the great tour !
Correct me if I'm wrong, but; The week long pass is only paid for ONCE... The attendance #, on the other hand, is the # of people that pass through the admission gates... so, someone with a weekly pass could easily count as 15 or 30 of those gate hits. The attendance is not 601,000 unique individuals. It is 601,000 people passed through the admission gates.
Thanks for the tour of Oshkosh! I live in FL so I try every year to hit up the Sun N Fun in Lakeland! You have a great channel! My dad and I also enjoy sailing doodles
Actually, 642,000 is the total number of daily ticket sales. I don't know how they count weekly passes, but I assume a week pass is equivalent to 7 daily passes. Assuming an average ticket cost of $30/day, that is about $20 million.
Great video! The interviews make the clips. I find the static displays much more interesting than watching a plane fly. I believe that they can do what they were built for they don't have to prove it. You should invest in some accessories like a gimbal and an external mike. Just saying.
Great job reporting and hitting the high points. It's worth seeing if you've never done the EAA convention. Yes, the Sheila is the best thing in the video.
Bobby, my dad was a crop duster for 13 years before he retired. Yes, it is/can be dangerous, but he approached it with a keen eye on safety and walked away with no injuries, even after a few of the airplanes had multiple mechanical failures.
We stayed in the dorm at Oshkosh one year in the late 90's. Daytime temps every day were close to 100 degrees. Did I mention that the dorms had NO air conditioning? Oh it was hot, even at night. After that, we always found air conditioned quarters. The 2nd largest air show is Sun n Fun in Lakeland, Florida in early April of every year. Temperatures are much more mild for that event.
2019 was our 13th year going to OSH. We camp in a tent in the camp grounds for the full week ( Sunday - Sunday). Camping onsite is the best way to do it. With a whole week, you can't even do half of it all.
Go over to Mikey's Plane Saver channel to learn about this amazing airplane. Buffalo Joe from Buffalo Airlines flew it in from Alaska and flew it home.
Thanks for taking us along, great to see the different parts. Nice to see plane savers dc3 in the back ground, and enjoyed seeing the flying cowboys aircraft
Hi Bobby and Laura, we enjoyed another of your Videos! Strange audio echo in some of the hangars this time? This is our 7th year of 8 days at Air Venture, sorry we did not see you! Hope the Honda Jet Rep sees your channel and invites you to come fly and do another interview about it. Your style is so thorough and relaxed. I have learned a great deal about so many types and you get the owners to go into great detail, just what we want to know! Thanks So Much!
Great Vlog. Thanks for the Oshkosh experience. Please contact one or some of the Flying Cowboys. It would be great to do one or two episodes from the Flying Doodles with them. Laura would have a blast too. Some of them are Trent Palmer (also a professional drone pilot), Kevin Quinn and Jonas Marcinko (really out there).
Did you know that we have over 92% water in most spraying loads? Its no where near “all pesticides “. Also did you know we can jettison our load so if a crash in eminent we would not have to worry about that?
I love your Sailing doodles channel but I work at EAA Airventure since 1985 and was so pleased you took the time to visit Oshkosh! I am glad a seasoned flyer as yourself, found tme to enjoy the Sport aviation!
Thank you for attending Oshkosh and taking me with you. Great video !!!!!!
Hope to see you there next year
This is probably the best "behind the scenes " video of oshkosh I've seen! Great job!
Oshkosh is definitely on my bucket list but it is a long way away from New Zealand. Really enjoyed the coverage you provided. Cheers.
I have been there a couple of times and was amazed at the attendees from around the world. Folks from your country, Australia, South Africa, and European countries, all enjoyable to visit with. Of course the airplanes - something flying all the time all day.
I’ve been there twice now and the show gets better and better every year
One of the best airshow videos I have ever seen!
One of the best UA-cam aviation videos of all time!
The P-51 "Twin" is the F-82 Twin Mustang. They were used mainly as night fighters, carrying a radome (radar dome) between the fuselages.
Yep, An F-82 not a twin P-51. Supposedly none of the airframe parts are interchangeable with a P-51.
The design requirements were for a long range escort for B-29 raids on Japan. The distance required more fuel than a P-51 could carry and 2 pilots.
It was used as a night fighter.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-82_Twin_Mustang
@@bidlymovies987 The only parts shared between the two aircraft is a screw or two.
The sights and sounds of Oshkosh...well done B & L!
Flying at 9 feet and 120 spraying crops is much cooler than flying through 'smoke rings', and it keeps food on our tables. Those guys do an awesome and valuable job!!
It is a hard job but remember its the pesticides that keeps the Country from starving. Organic is nice too but nobody wants to live like its 1899.
Another Great Video!
Thanks for showing MORE of the Oshkosh experience ☺️
One of the best videos of the breadth of AirVenture I’ve seen. Thanks.
Yes learn the shuttle system. First time at Osh we didn’t know about the shuttles, after we got our tickets we walked all the way to the flight line and everywhere else that day.

Matt the smoke jumper looks like he has seen some things and done some things most of us could never do. Very cool interview!
Great video! We had a fun time meeting you at the meet n greet at Osh too!

Cool video for all of us that couldn't make it to Oshkosh. Thanks as always for the great work
It’s amazing how you pick the stuff I like to see. I met one of the Honda jet Engineers while living in Greensboro NC couple years back. Couldn’t get a tour it was a well kept secret.
Awesome job Bobby. I went Monday and Tuesday. I couldn’t agree more about good walking shoes and knowing the tram routes. I’ve been 3 years in a row.
Nice meeting you two at KOSH on Friday. That smoke jumper pilot had a real fiery personality.....:/
TF-839 at 5:25 -- I have a Giant Scale RC gasser in that livery. Thanks for showing all the awesome planes at Osh 2019 for those stuck at our day jobs
16:46 One of the most beautiful airplanes I've ever seen. Just gorgeous!
Didn't see a plane.......
Plane?
Awesome and I live 1 hour from there. Went to EAA back in the 90’s. Thanks for show casing our State...
Couldn’t make it this year so I totally enjoyed your video and all the interviews. Thanks!

“Airplane Disneyland “ she is right on the money there
Showed up for the planes, stayed for her LOL.

Amazing video thanks Bobby and Laura!!!! Bobby, I like your new lovely "interviewer"!!!! nice choice!!!
Great video, what's with the audio distortion throughout the video?
Sooooo much background noise with engine etc... it was the only way to make the audio where you could hear what was being said
It's so hard talking to people there at times, have to wait for something to fly by.
This may be a stupid question, but how the hell can you see down the runway in a p-51 mustang with that nose pitched up?
Lol I have that problem in fsx and the answer is
You don't. You don't see down the runway.

another great one! congrats. Been in OSH this year - first time. Grear show! Regards from Brazil.
Great video Bobby and Laura looks adorable
Sailing Doodles fan and Flying Doodles fan both great fun to watch! Wish I could do both but consider myself lucky to be able to sail.
Thanks for the video tour. Chose not to go this year, and seeing the video's gave me significant reminders of the whole experience.

Wow, I've owned Honda cars for years, but I've never heard of a HondaJet.
I got to get in it when I went. It’s one nice plane.
planes, archery, table tennis Hi. You made a video of it?

Honda Jet..."been around for 3yrs now". I saw the prototype ~ 15yrs ago at Osh!!! Looks like you guys had fun
Looks like the smoke jumper guy didn't enjoy being on video or he didn't like looking at Bobby's white sunglasses.
I know that look. Severe Jock Itch.

You should get connected with a modern applicator and see how technology has changed the industry: (1) turbine engines, (2) WAAS GPS, etc.

You missed an opportunity with the Flying Cowboys especially Mike Patey’s Draco those guys are amazing especially STOL Drags
thanks for sharing, love the Oshkosh stuff!
Flying Cowboys these guys are a class of there own, nice videos they have
you two make traveling fun and I think many many people will follow your example. That is my hope too.
Saw DTD in the background while you were in the vintage area. A very special aircraft.
I saw that as well.. Too bad they didn't stop over and see Mikey and the Plane Savers group..

Plane Savers DTD in the thumbnail. 👍

I’ve been in a Honda jet HJ-1
Great video for the interviews steady etc
Did you see that Sonex just announced the side-by-side jet?
Good video good aircraft
Great video, thx for making. Reno Air Races next?
Nice job Bobbie, but you missed Trent Palmer and the STOL gang !! Are you still grounded, or did the FAA reinstate your license ??
1:01 repping the LB (Lander Bar), heck ya Bobby!
He bought it the night we took them to dinner at Cowfish! We had a great time hanging out with Bobby and Laura!
Those are amazing!
Bobby , pease get some new sunglasses. Those white frames creep me out. You look like my 86 yr old aunt who hangs out at the casino.
