not sure how you mathed that one, in mario party its 3 coins for blue panel and 30 for a star on most maps, so it'd be like of each battle space always hit 30 instead of random which is kind of brutal
As a game design student I was paying attention to the minigame scores and why the Party Crashers kept getting ties even in what seem to be minigames based on who finishes first and I believe I've figured it out: Notice how in every minigame, even the time-based ones, multiple scores are the same. I believe that this is because of one thing: placements aren't based on who finishes first, they're purely based on player score. So theoretically if you were to finish first in something like the Pokey Pummel minigame, but then another person crushes all of the stones, both of you have 1000 and will draw, regardless who won first. So yeah if this video wasn't already proof that this game definitely needed some more polish, then here is the extra proof you need. EDIT: I edited my example since the first one sucked ngl
It’s like Easiest Possible Code: The Party Game, even the free movement is to use an already built movement code instead of having to program a predetermined path. They’re not beating the ‘quick asset flip ripoff’ allegations 😂
This kind of thing really helps put into perspective just how well made mario party is. Mario party always tries to hit that sweet spot between skill and dumb luck, with players able to mess with eachother just enough to be competitive and "toxic", but rarely actually annoying. With this game, every win feels unearned, the game seems to just do what it wants, and players are given freedom to be as obnoxious as they like.
