@itsmejohny Well, for your information, Kia was rated as the top brand in Reliability here in Australia in 2016, and that with it's sister brand Hyndai is still in the top 5 brands for reliability
Great video. Fun Fact: All the Stingers delivered to the Kia dealers for display before it was on sale were fitted with the 'E' badge in the front, the rims, and the steering wheel.
100% agree. Not many manufacturers use an actual name for their badge anymore. Most use a emblem, symbol etc like Subaru with their cluster of stars, Lexus with a L, Honda with a H, Audi with the rings etc
Chris Audi has always had the same badge as did Lexus. The Kia badge changing most people do it for a different reason even though Kia builds very high quality cars.
Monsieur Africain that's the point I was trying to say. The Stinger is a great car but people often change the Kia badge as they are embarrassed by the name. Hyundai launched their luxury range through Genisis. Kia are stepping up their game once Peter S started designing their cars so they could launch their new cars with a redesigned logo to signify the new quality
Chris all is Kia's cars are quite good at the moment and have high rankings except the Sportage. It's a pity that many people are still stuck in the year 2000.
...don't forget that the original Korean Stinger version has the large trunk Stinger script logo and the E badges, which is why we can buy all these emblems online from Mobis OEM factory parts suppliers...just search for the Korean Stinger Dream video....
...all of the above...removed all my Optima badges and replaced with those stunningly beautiful black and gold 3-D Jaguar- inspired black and gold acrylic Korean Tigris badges ...they look really great as well...one guy who owned an XK E-Type actually stopped to ask me... what type of Jaguar is this?....
I have watched every one of your videos based on what im installing on mine. You literally saved me hundreds of hours. Love the tutorials and always looking forward to more
No badge at all would look great too (if you'd have the 3 holes filled and painted), I find that the grille is a great "badge" itself and says it's a Kia in a good and classy way
E badge could stand for “ESENCIS or ESENTUS or ESENSUS” All of them were registered by KIA in Dec 2015 as their premium brand like the Hyundai GENESIS. However KIA want it, Hyundai taking care Genesis brand first. So kia can’t launch their own premium brand yet. That’s why there is no official comments about what does it stand for. It was known by South Korean media last year.
I don't think so. Hyundai is the parent company of Kia. Kia has no plans to start a luxury arm. That's the purpose of Genesis. Hyundai/Kia already share platforms and engines.
Now you gotta change the wheel cap and the airbag. I did mine with my old Genesis. I bought the airbag and just simply replaced it with Genesis logo. So much better than Hyundai logo.
Lmao!! I'm thinking bout buying this car next and was wondering what would happen if you replaced it with the E. So funny man..especially the Viking comment haha. Looks great btw!
I find it would be a lot more annoying to explain to people what the E badge stands for than to explain to them that it's a Kia. The plebs: "Whaaat it's a KIA?!" "You paid how much?! 50k??" You: "Yeah, deal with it." (Proceeds to walk away with shades on)
Your Stinger looks directly imported from Korea good job! Seeing how KIA's mother company Hyundai made the gradual transition from 'Hyundai Genesis' to Genesis, KIA is likely to follow similar steps. Once KIA decides to launch its independent luxury brand (Essentus, Essensys, whatever it will be) I am sure they are going to provide rebadging service for all the 'KIA Stinger' owners anyways. So your DIY rebadging is somewhat legit. Another fact, when Hyundai first launched the Genesis not as a brand but as a single product, it's North American units had the Hyundai badge while the Korean units were launched with the Genesis badge from the beginning. So Hyundai/Kia customers in America are likely to experience this weird transition period of branding.
I ordered the "E" badges and wheel caps while I was at the dealership getting my Stinger. Waiting for paperwork is always a slow so so why not order these
Just FYI... DO NOT OVERHEAT BADGE when removing. Paint will come off as well! I learned the hard way the heat actually isn't necessary with a plastic putty knife.
I installed the E badge myself today. I still had to cut the pin on my right hand drive Australian model. The holes seem to be the same outside Korea regardless of which side you sit on.
Took me literally 1 min to completely remove my badge and residue. I used fishing line(braided). Slipped under the side, pulled up slightly, to make sure sawing motion didn’t scratch paint. Took about 5 sec till I got to pins. Reversed process and then used line to pull badge straight up. Used my finger to push and roll leftover pad and goo. Lined up my new badge and done son. Took longer to post this than change the badge.
So I used fishing wire and the Bondo spreader. No heat necessary. I used the K logo instead of the E. Looks great. Plus I was nervous about using a heat gun on my 2020 Stinger GT.
Awesome videos, guys! Keep it up! And I guess you'll have to deal with quite a number of "what does it stand for?" questions indeed )) Although about 99% of the folks will just wonder to themselves "wtf was that car?!". It will take some time for KIA to build the image.
I wanted to ask you, I just got the exact same car, GT2, color and all. What did you do to that paint? Has your car just been waxed? Or is it ceramic coated? I’m eager to know what you did , it looks incredible! Thanks for the vids
I think Kia should hire a marketing firm to redesign the Kia logo. I don't think the problem is the work "Kia," it's just the way it's drawn...it's looks basic. They can keep the word, just draw it to look more contemporary/cool.
The car looks dopper if that's even a word. But you get my point. :) Awesome video brother. Edit: btw I subscribed to your channel after watching this video. I also watched the back badge replacement video too. Awesome.
I will eventually replace the rear Kia emblem with the big Stinger one because I think it looks way better. But I dont think I will be changing the front Kia badge. The E badge looks nice but it makes no sense. I lived in Korea for a couple of years and Koreans love to use phrases that make no sense, like a Gym sign that said "no sweet, no sweat" under the Gym name, and my fridge, above the ice dispenser said "performance of dream space". The E badge is the same thing.
Just managed to remove the front logo and guess what. There is no glue but some sort of solid material attached to the car body. Looks and touches like a plastic, maybe a solid resin, but I could not even move it and I even cut my hand! Had to replace it back, now i'm contacting a coachbuilder
really nice car!!! I like the E, bet it will be a head turner!! ---Kia & hyundai take over---!!!! no need to spend money on other foreign cars when these cars look so good!!! most people really just are upset that they didn't invest properly and just wanna feel better with a well known luxury car. fact is the competition is real...hey it got you to look at this car right? -Genesis owner :)
Kia announced that "E" badge means "Engineered by Excellence" as well as the shape of "Rear wheel drive model's lower body" when they introduced stinger in 2017 Seoul motor show. Kia also announced that "E"badge will be applied only in South Korean domestic market. Later this year, Kia will introduce 2020 K900 model in Korea which also has "E"badge on it. Hello, I plan on buying a stinger this week and would like to change the badges as you did. How come you didn't put silicone in that third hole like you did for the back badge? Is it not necessary to fill the holes? Thanks
I'm not so worried about the badge, I already have 2 marks on the chrome surround to the grille caused by stone chips on the road. Do you know whether the removal and replacement of this item is straightforward ?
...yes..I just bought the stick-on GT emblem, since it is styled just like the one on the trunk, even though I did buy all the E badges , as well as the ones for the wheel center replacements. This E type stick-on fits right over the old one on the steering wheel...but there is also an oval E emblem that will also stick on right there.
TopSecretVid borla exhaust does sound good but I'd unavailable right now. Air intake will happen. Waiting on Tork motorsports he's making one and waiting to see what he has in store.
Why do I watch this I don't even own a Stinger.
Felix Lichterbeck Let me buy you a beer man...... You've helped me come to grips with myself....hahaha
same i have a forte lol
@itsmejohny yet, here you are.. watching Kia videos.
@itsmejohny as you're spending your time watching crappy Kia videos..
@itsmejohny Well, for your information, Kia was rated as the top brand in Reliability here in Australia in 2016, and that with it's sister brand Hyndai is still in the top 5 brands for reliability
Seriously KIA should ship the Stinger with the ‘E’ badge. That would really bring KIA USA to the next level.
I think it's pretty cool to keep the Kia badge on so when you pull up next to a BMW or Mercedes and then smoke them, they see the Kia badge and cry
lol thats funny
this guy gets it 👍👍👍
OMG...
Red Stinger + E badge = Perfect
E pica One for the wheel existing?
Great video. Fun Fact: All the Stingers delivered to the Kia dealers for display before it was on sale were fitted with the 'E' badge in the front, the rims, and the steering wheel.
Kia really needs to redesign their logo / badge. ASAP!!
Yep and rename the company name to something else. Kinda like how Nissan used to be Datsun
They did
No heat and dental floss is THE best way to remove emblems. There is absolutely no risk of screwing your paint up that way.
I think it's time Kia redesigned their logo...
livewoutlimit, why? There are far worse logos out there.

That's great !
I'm korean and I would like to show this video to KIA company in Korea.
They gonna love it ! I hope they could change their Badge
...don't forget that the original Korean Stinger version has the large trunk Stinger script logo and the E badges, which is why we can buy all these emblems online from Mobis OEM factory parts suppliers...just search for the Korean Stinger Dream video....
It’s not that they don’t want to change it s all about $$$$
thanks for loving kia stinger!! I was one of the R&D team.
lol sure you were
Exclusive, Exquisite, Evolutionary, and finally "Engineered by Excellence"
...all of the above...removed all my Optima badges and replaced with those stunningly beautiful black and gold 3-D Jaguar- inspired black and gold acrylic Korean Tigris badges ...they look really great as well...one guy who owned an XK E-Type actually stopped to ask me... what type of Jaguar is this?....
That looks much better. Enjoy your new car.
Jonathan Velazquez Gore Thank you.
...just finishing up installing mine...E for Excellence....
I have watched every one of your videos based on what im installing on mine. You literally saved me hundreds of hours. Love the tutorials and always looking forward to more
No badge at all would look great too (if you'd have the 3 holes filled and painted), I find that the grille is a great "badge" itself and says it's a Kia in a good and classy way
Vlad Saghin this^. Was also thinking debadged would look sick
I agree
I would remove and just have a large carbon fiber black “Stinger” logo on the rear👍
E badge could stand for “ESENCIS or ESENTUS or ESENSUS”
All of them were registered by KIA in Dec 2015 as their premium brand like the Hyundai GENESIS.
However KIA want it, Hyundai taking care Genesis brand first. So kia can’t launch their own premium brand yet.
That’s why there is no official comments about what does it stand for.
It was known by South Korean media last year.
50cc3DFly That seems to me the best answer I have heard to date😀
If i can recall The E is for “Engineered Specially”
It actually stands for "Excellence"
50cc3DFly I just like that the Genesis badge is nice and symmetrical where as this weird E throws off the symmetrical design of the car
Suggestion on getting the sticky stuff off the car once you pull the KIA badge off?
That badge dropped your cars weight 100lbs and added 55 hp! Great job!
Completed the change to E badge using your directions - brilliant! thank you for the detail. Looks awesome.
Great job. And your skits are hilarious. That Efrem guy is a natural go to sidekick funny guy.
Lmao!! I'm thinking bout buying this car next and was wondering what would happen if you replaced it with the E. So funny man..especially the Viking comment haha. Looks great btw!
Very cool. Thanks for posting both of the badge videos! Loved the comedy intro!! Keep it up!!
Benjamin Bidlack Thank you. We appreciate the feedback.
People on the comments say "embarrassed about buying $50k Kia" when in its own home country it comes with E badge and Stinger badge
I think it looks good. The stinger already has looks that make people go "what is that..? The E furthers the mystery lol"
roland villanueva 100% agree.
I find it would be a lot more annoying to explain to people what the E badge stands for than to explain to them that it's a Kia.
The plebs:
"Whaaat it's a KIA?!"
"You paid how much?! 50k??"
You:
"Yeah, deal with it." (Proceeds to walk away with shades on)
I guess it's pretty cool to smoke some badge snobs in your Kia ayy
God thats cringe
But the aftermarket K badge is the UGLIEST of all time!
Vlad Saghin z
Made it look 100% better with the E badge.
that car looks so sick
순정부품=genuine parts
nice video. good job
Jason Park and kia sucks always..
Thanks..I’m doing this to my Stinger!!
The skit was actually not cheesy at all. It was good
And the Academy Award goes to SGTandMe. Great video and nice car. I just picked up a Stinger GT2 AWD in Micro Blue.
Your Stinger looks directly imported from Korea good job! Seeing how KIA's mother company Hyundai made the gradual transition from 'Hyundai Genesis' to Genesis, KIA is likely to follow similar steps. At first I thought E stands for Excellent or Excellence xD
in Korean, it would be '참 잘했어요' lol
굿잡!
권준영 They’re going through great lengths to subdue the Kia name!
권준영 and there’s one thing that you’ve got to know! “Kia sucks..!!”
Just go with the K emblem, looks much better.
Nicolas Salazar looks like an L
Bakersfield haha. I work at the Autoplanet in the background. Thanks for the accidential exposure.
Pablo Rodriguez 😂 That's awesome.
I ordered the "E" badges and wheel caps while I was at the dealership getting my Stinger. Waiting for paperwork is always a slow so so why not order these
I don't have a problem with the kia badge but every time I hear someone say stinger I just can't stop laughing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kelly Austin 😁
StingerGTandMe Awesome color by the way.
Just FYI... DO NOT OVERHEAT BADGE when removing. Paint will come off as well! I learned the hard way the heat actually isn't necessary with a plastic putty knife.
Hi, just wondering how did you fix the issue with the paint? Thanks
Took longer to post this than change the badge.
I'm thinking that these dislikes are from people who can't get E badge. Obviously, E badge looks better 😂😂
AHYEON이아연 lol yeah these things don't bother me. Makes me laugh more than anything
Fishing line work best for debadging
it's so much nicer with the stinger on the back and the E in the front
Zillow - personally I like the new badge. I wasn't interested in any of the Kia cars until the stinger with the elimination of the Kia logos.
Been waiting for this one !
Wheel caps next please!
Finally after watch this my cancer has been cured
Looks better than the Kia logo, in Holland this model very exclusive and expensive!
Don't be ashamed of the kia badge. Rock that shit!
brandon lawrence Kia is synonymous with cheap.
Sergio Patel well hiding that badge isn't gonna change that. You can slowly change that perception by having a kia badge on such a sexy car.
Brandon I totally agree! It will slowly change the standard of what that logo represents.
So I used fishing wire and the Bondo spreader. No heat necessary. I used the K logo instead of the E. Looks great. Plus I was nervous about using a heat gun on my 2020 Stinger GT.
I cannot unsee the spartan helmet now.....thanks.
Jordan Lamb That's what I told Stephen after he saw that.
....Sparty....
use fishing string to remove badges .saw back and forth and they come off without ruining the paint
Keep it up guys! Great Humour...lol
Awesome videos, guys! Keep it up!
And I guess you'll have to deal with quite a number of "what does it stand for?" questions indeed )) Although about 99% of the folks will just wonder to themselves "wtf was that car?!". It will take some time for KIA to build the image.
B.Techno I love to confuse people about the car. It will get them searching and learn more about the stinger. 😁
StingerGTandMe Stinger is probably one of the best out there to confuse people! Not that far from "wolf in sheep's clothing" approach at the moment.
Looks way better. “KIA” is so generic looking.
Jimmy Lewg - By generic you mean crap right.
Thank you for the videos so helpful seeing what I'm getting into before I start .
Thanks, bud. You just reminded me that I need to buy a Dremel tool. Not a fan of Kia, but the Stinger is way better than an Optima.
E-Estinger?
Zed Lopez No it's Esensis or Esentus
steve Lee and what is it?
Florian Cz South Korea's rear wheel drive premium brand
Great job on the intro!
Looks great!! Hot looking car man! Go KIA!!
They can keep the word, just draw it to look more contemporary/cool.
this aged well
new badge looks way better and i dont have a stinger but i watch your vlogs
Looks better definitely an upgrade
So that's all well and good but I have my car clear wrapped... Prob can't use the heat on it??
The car looks dopper if that's even a word. But you get my point. :) Awesome video brother.
Edit: btw I subscribed to your channel after watching this video. I also watched the back badge replacement video too. Awesome.
The E stands for EXCLUSIVE... Just Got mines!!! We got the same color Stinger!!💯 Looks Good...
I'm looking at tips to rebadge my 2016 sportage with the K logo all black, think looks better overall than the KIA or the E logos
The E badge is the same thing.
blister on your thumb? badge get too hot from heat gun??
iclicku No not too hot. It was from rubbing on the 3M tape to get it off. Yeah didn't take long too blister. Good eye 😂
That looks like its gonna hurt for at least 1 week. Sucks that it happened in the worst spot.
Just ordered mine ty for the tutorial!!
Doing a little buffing/paint correction before installing the new badge will eliminate any minor scratches as well as any discoloration issues.
Next Video - Kia Stinger E Badge Center Caps Install....edit --> Holy hell the next video actually is the center caps. That's awesome hahaha
Enjoyed your video.
New one is much better I think. 😊
Nice!! Looks good!
I've heard that E symbol indicates rear wheel drive axle from the top view.
Your stinger is very awesome
Just managed to remove the front logo and guess what. There is no glue but some sort of solid material attached to the car body. Looks and touches like a plastic, maybe a solid resin, but I could not even move it and I even cut my hand! Had to replace it back, now i'm contacting a coachbuilder
😂 this was actually funny
“Oh E for Korea” lmao
E for the uneducated on here, stands for " Excellence in Engineering " it is the normal badge they put on the Stinger in Korea
Looks way better than the KIA emblem!
the e stands for extra large pizza "slaps own stomach"
Hair dryers works well
really nice car!!!

A nice genesis badge would look good. Can't wait for the Genesis G70!
it looks much better!!!
The E definitely looks better
please tell me, can you remove the instructions how to completely disassemble the steering wheel? along with parsing buttons on the steering wheel
Instead of the plastic spatulas I have used dental floss to "cut" the badges off, works really good.
Hello, I plan on buying a stinger this week and would like to change the badges as you did. How come you didn't put silicone in that third hole like you did for the back badge? Is it not necessary to fill the holes? Thanks
If you heat it up and use floss, it works the best to remove emblems so you don't scratch your car prying it off.
I'm not so worried about the badge, I already have 2 marks on the chrome surround to the grille caused by stone chips on the road. Do you know whether the removal and replacement of this item is straightforward ?
Kia is probably one of the few brands in which the owners feel the need to change the badge.
"KIA" logo looks so outdated. Can you also replace the one on the steering wheel?
...yes..I just bought the stick-on GT emblem, since it is styled just like the one on the trunk, even though I did buy all the E badges , as well as the ones for the wheel center replacements. This E type stick-on fits right over the old one on the steering wheel...but there is also an oval E emblem that will also stick on right there.
The E stands for, “engineered by excellence.” You don’t need to explain anything to anyone.
what's the E stamp? we dont know too
Korea doesnt have the driver side on the right,
Wow... sitting here watching this. Only to realize you’re in the pizzaville parking lot 😂😂
Borla exhaust next?? Cold Air intake??
TopSecretVid borla exhaust does sound good but I'd unavailable right now. Air intake will happen. Waiting on Tork motorsports he's making one and waiting to see what he has in store.
StingerGTandMe sounds good i’ll keep watching. tentative plan is to buy a Stinger GT2 during the Summer.
Now you have to change the wheel caps.
Is there a particular method or product that will make it easier to remove the adhesive once the Kia badge is removed?
Did this today and anything that could go wrong did. Paint peeled in three places from trying to pry. Sad day.
