Hey, I know this video is old, but the reason the screws on Honda bikes always strip out is that they are Japanese Industrial Standard(JIS) head screws, not phillips. A phillips driver will strip them out. Impact drivers aren't designed to cam out and tend to be a good substitute for JIS in a pinch. Vessel makes some good JIS drivers and impact drivers.
I discovered the same issue on 1973 XL100, turn counter clockwise to tighten cam chain. A confusing issue. I also pulled the generator apart to see what was happening.
