@@maphenyep they are things to avoid death, while shiver’s is to embrace death. and also there are a few people saying that big man’s outfit could be inspired by the sack man but as a brazilian i don’t really see it xd i just think it’s meant to be goofy

Love the red spider lily in Shivers hair! It’s a plant found in Japan that symbolizes death, abandonment, seperation from the mortal plane, and tends to be seen making a path to reincarnation and the afterlife! Perfect for Halloween, and definitely what solidified her as my favorite!

Additionally Frye's outfit is a great representation towards cultures that celebrate 'Day of the Dead' instead of halloween. The little veil of jewels round her upper frame is similar to the patterns that can be seen on sugar skulls that are given out during the holiday.
Something interesting I’ve heard is that Shiver is meant to be NB. But American localization of course decided “girl”.
It’s a bit unfortunate but maybe in a decade NoA will be more accurate since they might not feel a need to censor.

We got Shiver representing Japanese culture with her costume
Frye representing India with hers!
And Big Man representing Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas! 😂

Frye does seem to make her team color the most with her tentacles, eyes and accessories being orange and orange adjacent. Big Man’s costume kinda seems to have a purple glow on the underside of it when it doesn’t like up, but that could be because of the surroundings. Same with Shiver, their skin seems to be a bit greenish, but that could just be the lights around her instead.
They all have colors from a other team like Frye has purple for big mans team big man has green for shivers team and shiver has red orange for fryes team
I loved Deep Cuts outfits, but Callie and Marie always gonna be my favorite duo, mostly Callie cause I adore he cute lovable energy. Which compliments Marie’s sassy and sometimes sarcastic nature. In my opinion I think their costumes are best cause it’s just Halloween outfits rather than separate team outfits.
But I’ve got to be honest here, Frye’s outfit was just gorgeous. Team Skeleton may have come in second, but at least the Shiver streak was finally broken, Ty Team Ghost.
No problem! As a Shiver fan, even I was getting upset with the streak so I'm glad that is over! Hopefully there won't be anymore long winning streaks...
if big man is really a representation of brazil it's quite accurate with the simplicity because we don't actually celebrate halloween so it would make sense it's just something plain but still into the vibe

This is my current conspiracy theory, but I think Shiver was actually supposed to be 'Vampire' for this Splatfest, but they changed it to zombie because she kept winning too much lmaoo

If you look really closely at Shiver's legs (especially when she jumps) you can see she is wearing pants. I love that detail so it doesn't look unrealistic. (Even though the game is already unrealistic.)

The last original season before they start repeating will probably be Sizzle Season 2024, so that means the last Splatfest will be at the end of August 2024. Unless they decide to do a third Drizzle Season or some kind of exception. In Splatoon 2, they did an extra Splatfest and a couple reruns after the update cycle had supposedly ended, so there's always room for surprises.

It was fun and my first ever Splatoween ever too! I got into Splatoon late in my life despite me watching walkthroughs of the first 2 games and looking up the lore behind them and watching the insane creativity of both games boss fights and weapons designs.I am ashamed I didnt get S2 and participate in Splatoween back in the day in 2017 :C Regardless Im happy Nintendo brought it back for those 3 days and Happy Anniversary S3!
Shiver's toes are black with red nail polish. I never expected that. She's cute though.

Wait how do you look at them up close?
The camera
Go upstairs to the Headgear shop on the balcony, then use the camera as soon as the game lets you if you positioned at a good angle but you gotta wait until their float is right up close and before they're about to pass you so it's a matter of positioning and timing.
