Inflammatory bowel disease is a combination of two diseases including Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease.
About 95% of people with these diseases start to show symptoms from childhood. Children with persistent abdominal pain should be screened for Crohn's disease if they have diarrhea, weight loss, joint pain, or anemia. Diarrhea and blood in the stool are symptoms of ulcerative colitis.
These diseases can be detected through endoscopy and colonoscopy. Biopsy examination is also very important. Inflammatory bowel disease is a disease that persists in the body for a long time. Therefore, regular blood tests are required. Consult a doctor at regular intervals. Children who are infected with this disease should have regular eye examinations.
