Easily one of the funniest episodes of the series….the look on Radar, Henry, and Frank’s faces when McArthur just blows past them. Then of course there’s Klinger!
Years later after he became company clerk, Klinger wrote a letter home and explains that it was no wonder he couldn't ever get a psycho discharge because everybody there was already crazy!

Hats off to Klinger the Statue of Liberty. We salute you you
I love the looks on the nurse’s faces on the first part. The actresses are trying so hard not to bust out laughing.
Even funnier is Larry Lindville trying to hold it together as he calls Klinger a moron! He seconds from busting up laughing!
0:30 check Trapper going for the salute too early, classic lmao
Klinger's finest moment
Making the the supreme commander of your forces in that war homesick,
I believe he deserves a medal for that stunt

That was Klingers best costume, as well as one of the best MASH moments.
@@valerietaylor9615One ofbest M*A*S*H moments not Max's!
Easily one of the funniest episodes of the series….the look on Radar, Henry, and Frank’s faces when McArthur just blows past them. Then of course there’s Klinger!
They should change the title....”M*A*S*H......MacArthur salutes Klinger”....🤣🤣🤣
Years later after he became company clerk, Klinger wrote a letter home and explains that it was no wonder he couldn't ever get a psycho discharge because everybody there was already crazy!
Priceless!!! Among the best of the best M*A*S*H episodes !!!
What's really impressive is how quickly Klinger escaped those MPs and changed his outfit before Macarthur showed up.
That’s true.
That's easy he been trained by Superman how to change clothes quickly.😅
Okay, I believe it. But where did he find a phone booth?
I noticed this error years ago and i have never seen anyone comment on it until you did. IMDB doesn't have it as a blooper for this episode.
Klinger always could steal the show.
Yes and the dresses
I'll change!
Promise?
Have I ever lied to you before?
Take him away!
Comes back as Lady Liberty
From when MASH was a comedy.
Klinger was my favorite character. Anyway, the man who played General MacArthur looks a lot like the actor Gregory Peck who really did play MacArthur.
It was Larry Gelbart, the show's producer, doing a cameo.
I don't know what is funnier, Klinger as a statue of liberty or Klinger shouting "you'll be proud of me".
Or kissing “ Mac Arthur’s” pipe.
"Have I ever lied to you?"
"...Take him away"
Yeah, that probably wasn't your best argument, Max.
2:46 Of course the sign falls.
Just like our inspections used to be... Prep all damn week for a 5 min visit if even that!!!!
Gotta love that they are drinking on the job and suddenly MacArthur shows up.
Margaret: “ That isn’t gin?” Hawkeye: “ No, vodka. This is only a rehearsal.”
I remember seeing this on prime time TV in the early 70s as a little boy, and laughing so hard. 😂😂😂👍
Klinger should have gotten an Emmy for that ending
And a new wardrobe of dresses
Absolutely
I like the part where Radar, dressed as Mac Arthur, stood up in the Jeep and Trapper said , “ He’s much shorter than I thought.” And then Klinger kissing his pipe was hilarious!
3:04 the moment we all love
I think the general might have found a long lost relative,
BEST SCENE OF THE ENTIRE MASH SERIES EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree. A classic.
@@olenfersoi8887 I agree to.
No, I've scene better seens; I mean, I've seen better scenes.
Classic Klinger!
I love they used real Missouri Meerschaum Pipes. Its the only thing the General would ever be seen puffing.
Absolutely HILARIOUS!!
Funniest episode in the series
0:11 The way Colonel Henry Blake says that is one of the best in all recorded history.
That was AWESOME!THEY WILL NEVER MAKE SHOWS LIKE THIS,ANYMORE!
A great moment in this show.
If youve been in retail, you'll relate.
That made my day! Thank you!
My all-time favourite episode because of what it says about important big-wigs and their preference for tacky, insincere display over genuine respect.
Klinger would not be denied.
According to _Plain Speaking_ by Merle Miller, Truman called MacArthur "A dumb son of a bitch."
Well,.......not all great American general got great nick names
Truman was a dumb son of a bitch himself firing MacArthur.
Well, Truman is a bigger one.
I like Harry Truman.
Klinger set a record for quick changes in this one.
I notice as klinger is being dragged away a lot of the supporting cast were chuckling
Damn, Loretta Swit was so fucking hot!
If any show did NOT need a laugh track, this was it!
Who played Big Mac? One of the unanswered trivia questions from the bigM
According to Google it was Robert Mitchum.👍
It looks more like Morgan Woodward, aka “Boss Godfrey” from “Cool Hand Luke”.

What kind of a vehicle is it that MacArthur was riding in???
