- "Non, je ne regrette rien" is a French song composed by Charles Dumont, with lyrics by Michel Vaucaire. It was written in 1956, and is best known through Édith Piaf's 1959 recording.
I admired her a lot. This song was recorded just three years before she passed away. She kept up the spirits of the French during that terrible war.
I heard, that she was very sick and alone at the end, but the life she had, must have been wonderful. Because we all can hear, that this song was made by a grateful woman, that loved her life... with all the pain and fear, that she went trough!! Love and peace to all of you

No. She met her and only one true love : it's was Two Carapo, more younger than she. They been married only for 1 year before she died and he was with her until her last breath with love. She was amazing and very special singer with not easy life.
There is no one like Edith Piaf. She is completely unique and touches my heart with every word.

LindaJane Manser I was just thinking the same thing .
That’s because she was PURE talent nothing more a very sad loss Modern day singers cant do this
she had such a tragic life, what a icon! this song brings me tears!!
Hope LaFleur me too she was so brave and worked for the resistance La Maquis
Sad life, but No Regrets tells it all about this beautiful Lady. Her songs tells me, after 82 years, that I should have No Regrets either!😇
EmeraldCity but when you reach 83 they’ll be coming for you
EmeraldCity i love you 😘💕
What's the point of regrets? Doesn't change anything. The thing about her and this song is it is about 60 years old or maybe more. yet is still remembered and she is still applauded. how many modern pop stars will be remembered in 10 years let alone 60.?
Never give up, ladies!!!
Bravo 👋👋👋!
I was born in 1960. Life is great. Be kind to each other. Love is the best. Passion!
Edith Piaf was only 4ft 10in, but on that stage she towered over everyone...
As a 27 year old It blows me away how people don't realise the emotion and feeling there was put in to older music compared to most modern music 🙂 also Edith Piaf is one of the greats of international musical artists not from the US or UK
I know very well people would sing and play music because they loved it. Now, people use music to get money, that's why there is no good music now. If you some, please send to me
This little lady with the voice of a nightingale on stage, on her own brings everyone to their feet. RIP lovely lady, your voice lives on for future generations
The amazing little sparrow. My Mother played her music almost everyday while l was growing up. What a voice!!❤
I'm a musical director in theatres around the world and for me Piaf is a God. I have NEVER seen anyone 'act' a song with her whole body as she does. And, although she is singing in French (which is a foreign language to me) you can pretty much work out what she's singing about by simply watching her body movements and facial expressions. L'accordeoniste is a fantastic example of this. Her really tough life was channeled into everything she sung
Me and father, sis put this song for mom funeral. She was in love with France and she loved Edith Piaf, especially this song.
Reminds me of my old French school teacher who showed us the film about edith piaf. My teacher sadly ended up committing suicide and this song always reminds me of her ❤
Jeez, that's pretty grim but I think whatever her pain she'd smile if she knew at least one of her students remembered her fondly.
Love this song...so moving. From Chico, California
Chicano?
Edith Piaf s music always build tears on my eyes, i dont know french and yet the music touches me deep down here in Botswana, if ever i can visit France , my first stop will be her grave yard then the eiffel tower and lastly Notre dame cathedral
Make it a goal. It's worth it. I saw her grave when I went to see Jim Morrison's grave.
@@kathydamore4379 I saw them both as well. Very powerful!
I totally understand!!
What's left of it concerning Notre-Dame...
I guess I watched all the versions and copies of this song on UA-cam. I just love it
Read the book: "No Regrets: The Life of Edith".....you will better understand who was Edith and way more you will appreciate her songs ..
I've had that book since I was 13 and I absolutely adore it!
I've been looking for a book about her. There isn't one on Kindle.
She could never have known we would still be listening to this 63 years later. Not only listening to it, but still mesmerised by it. If there’s any justice in this world, we’ll be celebrating it for as long as humanly exists.
producer: how many riens do you want, edith?
edith: oui
Hi
Holy shit. Just died laughing.
hahha
Ha*loooooong wheeze then catches breath after 4 minutes a 34 seconds* hahahahahahaha
This song literally makes me sob for so many reasons she’s so perfect omg
Outstanding! A standing ovation--she deserved it and so much more.
She gives me total chills. Amazing at any age!
My French is terrible and her history so tragic, but still she is in my heart every day. Non, jr ne regrette rien!
I love this song.! You live life to the fullest and embrace the good and the bad. They both are part of your life!
In English:No regrets
Moi , Non plus ! Je ne regrette rien , Ma Chère Edith Piaf !
This is so incredible. A piece of musical history that will always be a part of my life and will continue to inspire me
Beautiful, I wish we could hear more beautiful sounds like this---wonderful voice
All these years I thought this was sung by Earths Kitt! I finally found the song. Thank you Edith Pilaf! French is sexy! 😊
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Song, discovered it years ago in a commercial, and has been a
favorite ever since. 'No Regrets'
Edith Piaf, quelle voix, j'adore toute les chansons...!
J'aime cette femme!
Karin Langer-Peninou I don’t know what y’all saying but I still liked it
Elle a une voix unique 👍❤
Jacelyn Land she said what a voice, I adore all your songs 😉
Wonderful
Mes chagrins, mes plaisirs
I don’t speak French, but I understand the emotions in her voice in the words. It’s beautiful ❤
Here are the lyrics:
No, nothing, no, I don't regret anything
Neither the good that I was done, nor the evil
All that I care
No, nothing, no, I don't regret anything
It's paid, swept, forgotten, I don't care about the past
With my memories I lit the fire
my sorrows, my pleasures
I do not need them anymore
Swept away loves with their tremolos
Swept away
I go back to zero
No, nothing, no, I don't regret anything
Neither the good that I was done, nor the evil
All that I care
No, nothing, no, I don't regret anything
Because my life, because my joys
Today, it begins with you
Bravo Madame Piaf! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My mum loved her I grew up listening to Edif this her song that we are playing at my beloved mother Jacqueline at her funeral.
My God she is just being introduced to the US but not to my family . My mother would put her album on every Sunday when we all came for Dinner . We always talked about her & I said to Mama why she is not Italian !? She said Michael she crosses all borders in this world ! NOW SHUT UP & EAT YOUR DINNER XOXOXO ...
In French we don't say ' shut up.'
@@oliviamonkey what about taisez vous? it means shut up
@@oliviamonkey Yeah they do, if you're Italian, which I believe he hinted to be.

This is just monumental.
I just downloaded this song for my 4 yrs old son. He has heard this song on different commercials since he was a baby and he's in love with it. He's trying to learn the words💚
Love from Czechia, this is an eternal classic
❤This Is Absolute Legendary Song By The Legend That Lives On❤🙏⚘
Best song that gives us unity no matter which country we are from..
Its a totally LOVE
I be;lieve that this may have been Mdme. Piaf's final recorded performance. Adieu and merci. RIP
Can you imagine, she must have been 45-48 here, looks so old!
However, her talent is indisputable. R. I. P Edith
There are parallels with Judy Garland, who was also in her 40s when she died. The years of prescription drugs have taken their toll. Not only on her face but also on her voice. Actually she had plenty to regret but that wasn't really the point. The show kept going on, just about, until one day it didn't. She was quite something.
Magnificent!
Thank You
This sing gives me goose bumps. Not many songs can do that. BRAVO BRAVO!!!!!
Thank you for posting. Classic French badittude. Very cool.
Simply beautiful. Amazing sound amazing voice extremely emotional. I love it.

Wonderful, so many childhood memories come flooding back. Love you mum.
Me encanta...
I’ve always loved this song full of conviction and yet bittersweet somehow. It like hurts a little bit ...can’t explain it...you feel what she’s been through, good and bad. I came here from Bull Durham.
The Dove chocolate commercial sent me on a mission to find this blasted song !! lolol
P Newman The greatest Mexican singer ever!!
They made the song into something about guilt-free chocolate? Nice... Not.
Same XD
Same
I'm here from Madagascar

No idea what she’s singing but I like her music, it touches my heart. There’s a familiar sound to it whenever I hear her music.
LADodgerfan27 simple lyric but good lyrics
She don't care about the past
She is a champion. Just like the 2020 World Champion Dodgers !
No, nothing at all
No, I do not regret anything
Nor the good, that was done to me
Neither evil, I don't care at all
No, nothing at all
No, I do not regret anything
It is paid, swept away, forgotten
I do not care about the past
With my memories
I started the fire
my sorrows, my pleasures
I do not need them anymore
Sweep the loves
With their tremolos
sweep forever
I go back to zero
No, nothing at all
No, I do not regret anything
Nor the good, that was done to me
Neither evil, I don't care at all
No, nothing at all
No, I do not regret anything
Because my life, because my joys
Today, it begins with you

The Gods lay at your feet Edie. Bravo Edith...Bravo.
Best French singer ever!!!!
My daughter loves this song. She always told me as a young girl she knew Marie Antoinette, she got straight A's as an attorney and this song has been her favorite since she was small and before she learned French.
what a big and POWERFUL voice in such a little woman!
Beautiful 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
This is pure talent not seen today singers please take note
This act just would not fly with today's audience. I'm amazed that this tiny little woman, with nothing but pure talent and those golden tonsils, had all of France (at least) captivated and held spellbound by nothing more than her voice.
wooow, incaredible voise .soo amazing'

I first her her sing ~60 years ago. I fell in love with her voice. It took many years for me to find out her name.

Great inspiration for all.
