I would say that this by far is the easiest video I've ever watched to understand the game. I've watched many how to play videos of this game and I couldn't understand it. After watching this, I've finally understood it. Thank you!!!
Finally-Thank you. I’ve watched three videos showing how this game is played. Yours is the first that truly made me understand why this game is popular. I went out and bought it this afternoon. Thanks for the wonderful video and the easily understandable instructions.
Great explanation on how to play. However you were talking about how you should NOT look at your competitors board. I think that's half the strategy. Blocking them or taking what they need if you can still use it. Played w my 9 yr old tonight for the first time and she was like ohh you want that so I'm taking it hehehe. I almost high fived her for strategy.
I really enjoyed this thanks! I have played once and didnt truly understand it, but now I feel confident that I can both play, and explain the rules. Have just purchased Azul online, cant wait for it to arrive.
one of the best video to understand this game! jst a question: are you sure that it's possible to put the tiles of the same color in 2 or more different rows (left side)? cheers form italy! 🙂
We aren't aware of any rules that prohibit a player from starting or finishing more than 1 of the same color row. :) If you find it, please let us know!
I re-read the rules and don't see it mentioned, so I think you got it right. I watched some other videos and thought I heard them say you could not. I don't recall which and could have misunderstood. That being said, depending what other tiles are still available it may not be a great strategy since then there will be another color that cannot be placed for sure and will end up on the "floor". Then again if the other color is not there still then you would be ok.
Thanks again for the videos. Can we have multiple incomplete rows of the same color? Or do we need to finish one before starting another? Again rules don't say so I assume it is up to us?
Watched a pretty number of videos earlier. Those were not helpful. Your video explains the game so easily from the very beginning to its end. Just loved it! Have got only 1 qs. The situation is: I have 1 red tile in the second row and 2 red tiles on the fourth row of the pattern lines. On my turn, i pick 3 red tiles. Now, can i put 1 red tile in the second row and 2 in the fourth row (avoiding any negative scoring) or i have to put all 3 in the same row at a time (putting the extra tiles in the floor line)?
At 17:24, the woman calculates her scoring wrong - actually giving herself one point less than she should have. She should have gotten six points for that move, and only gave herself five points.
I think at 12 minute, James made an error . He took the black and start another line. You should complete already the last one where one black tile was already put before. Isn't it?
"Any tiles you have picked that you cannot or do not want to place according to the rules, you must place in your floor line, filling its spaces from left to right. These tiles are considered as having fallen on the floor and give minus points in the Wall-tiling phase. If all spaces of your floor line are occupied, return any further fallen tiles to the lid of the game box to store them for now"
Watching other player's boards is part of the strategy of the game, not "rude" at all. just picking tiles and focusing on your own board is boring and requires almost no strategy. It's like playing Ticket To Ride and not watching what cards the other players are collecting and what routes they're building. Boring!
The BEST explanation of the rules and gameplay of Azul I have seen on UA-cam. Thanks guys!

Maui Lawrence thanks!
Agree with you on this one :)
Yes!
Same, thank you!
if you havent watched the video yet: pro-tip is to watch HER board, not HIS board. ;-)
actually you get to learn from both. what choices they make and why

This is the way to review a game. Actual gameplay. Thank you both
Dana did a perfect vertical row the first round! Well done!
this is a great video to explain how to play, the best one around. Thanks guys.
Except for the part where he says blocking another player is "rude". It's an integral part of the game!

Well done!!!! Not an easy game to learn by just reading the instructions! Listen to him score - his explanations are important!
Great video ! Clearly demonstrate how to play this game and trick for it
I really enjoyed this thanks! I have played once and didnt truly understand it, but now I feel confident that I can both play, and explain the rules. Have just purchased Azul online, cant wait for it to arrive.
Was really fun watching you play!
Best vid and I watched half a dozen! Subscribed. 🙏 thanks
James I've been iffy about this game, but this playthrough has sold me! Love your commentary and the hair is freaking awesome 😍
So this is the the famous azul, thanks for review!
great video SHOWING how it's played. I hate having to shift through BS videos just explaining it. glad to find your video.
Great video guys! Bought this game today and had a blast! Subscribed!
I brought the game today. Thank you for the demo. Will have fun with this.
Four player games can drag but when you win a four player game, it's quite a feeling. 🤴
Just bought this game. Thanks for the run through. Very helpful :)
This is so great and helpful, thank you!!
Great video - quick and helpful guide to the game.
I was so confused after reading the rules - this was very helpful! Eager to try playing now.
"shoot...heck...darn" Ha Ha :-) Thanks for another great playthrough video!

Looks like a fun easy game to play with (and gift to) non gamer friends
At 4:54 James starts another row of red. Is that allowed? I thought you could not have more than one row of the same color on a turn?

You can multiple of the same color. You may not add more than one color in a single row though.
I've never watched a tutorial before but really enjoyed this. I'll definitely come back for more, cheers :-)
Was wondering if you would catch the extra two factories before you started and you did!! Love this game.
I'm so bad at this game!!! Loved your play through.
Put this one on my Christmas list.
Can you have to rows of same colour like yellow at 16th min on left?

They have to go all on the same row.
So helpful, thank you!

There's a new, cheaper, mini version out now. Designed to travel and keep pieces neatly in place during waves, bumps and whatnot.
I think at 12 minute, James made an error . He took the black and start another line. You should complete already the last one where one black tile was already put before. Isn't it?
No. You don't have to complete a started line.
Instead of placing a single tile in an empty row, you can place it in the minus point row. This way you don't get blocked.
i think the minus point row is only for the extra tiles that you cant fill in
"Any tiles you have picked that you cannot or do not want to place
according to the rules, you must place in your floor line, filling
its spaces from left to right. These tiles are considered as having
fallen on the floor and give minus points in the Wall-tiling phase.
If all spaces of your floor line are occupied, return any further
fallen tiles to the lid of the game box to store them for now"
The game would be easier for kids to play if the game board had a small depression for the tiles so they don't get knocked out of place.
And for the scoring blocks as well. Otherwise they keep moving 😅
Alright, I’m buying this game tomorrow.
Great video thank you!
If i see right, end of the game, you not count negative points from tiles on the floor.
Purple mohawk? Stumåsna
Great review
excellent video
Have you ever play monopoly board game. I am a big fan of that game.
SAILANY Coloring Kids Monopoly Gamer is probably my favorite version.
My boys loved Monopoly Crazy Cash. They just enjoyed putting the little card in the slot and having the ATM spit out the money.
Error: On the first round you took two rows of orange, that's not allowed
At 14 min you get 3 not 2.
gg
Can tell 5 min in that you will lose, James!! Haha
You basically got skunked
FinetalPies it was pretty terrible.

James is cheating with the points, Dana wins
I have to say this video tells me NOT my kinda game. Ugh.
ez a játék nem az erősségetek 🤡🤡🤡
