What do you think of the Stinger? As you can tell, I was impressed in many ways. It punches above its weight and truly offers a lot. *Thanks for watching and have an awesome day!* 👍
Always wanted the Stinger - I've been getting feedback of long term use / like less than a year, and creaks and rattles are appearing. Hope that's rectified - and the display is just small. Even a Sonata has a 10.25" display. My only complaint.
Good review and like someone else said I have seen many reviews and you the FIRST to say passenger dimming mirror. Very rare to find on cars but my Jeep GC has it so I am spoiled with both side mirrors dimming. Stinger is a great buy especially if you build a spreadsheet and start comparing to others as things start to become very clear just how good this car is 👍
Thank you! No kidding, it’s so nice to have both sides auto dimming...those seem to be the worst areas for blinding lights behind you, glad they included it. It’s a sweet car and like you said, stacks up very well!
The Stinger is trying to sell itself as something it’s not. Let’s see. Quad exhaust and fake vents with 365HP?? The mustang Gt is 460 w/ dual exhaust. The Camaro SS matches the Mustang HP with dual exhaust. The BMW M3 has 453 with quad exhaust. Kia is the ONLY car putting a quad exhaust on a 300 pony car without even hitting the 400 pony mark. Dodge doesn’t even need quad exhaust to sell itself as a beastly fast car. So who exactly is this car marketed to? My guess is the person who doesn’t know if they want a sports car or a sedan that’s been tricked out. So Kia got you a sedan and tricked it out with fake vents and a useless quad exhaust just for cosmetic purposes. Might as well put that money into a Subaru or just go get a real muscle car because the Kia Stinger is NOT a muscle car. Or put that $50,000 into a pre-lease 2017 Guila Quadrigfolio. You’d be happy you did.
I just sold my X2 M Sport for a GT2. No competition, the Stinger is so much more car in every single way I can’t believe it. I am so impressed with it. Can’t believe I traded a fricken BMW for a Kia, WTF? my friends all thought I was crazy too...until they saw it and drove it. All opinions changed. Is it a 5 series? Duh, no. But it’s half the price
Honestly, this car has nothing but good reviews . The price seems to be fully justified. It's perfect for those who want a european feel with some european styling and asian reliability (korea is moving up there). People are going to look back on this car in awe. Maybe it's just me but I dont find theres anything impressive about non-M BMWs or non-RS Audi or non-AMG Mercedes. While there are some beautiful models/classes, this car turns heads and is an excellent balance of all that one would be looking for in an entry level sports/luxury sedan with AWD.
I have the same color/seat combo as this. Someone hit me three weeks back who drove a brand new Kia Sportage, and I shit you not, his car bounced off mine and was sent into the other lane, while the Stinger barely budged. He was to my left, then he got over on me without looking and his front wheel hit my rear wheel. This car is a TANK! I have never felt so safe in a vehicle, even driving my Subaru Crosstrek.

The best car purchase I have made in a very long time! OOOHHH.....this question is for every Stinger owner.....do you get people stopping in the middle of the street to ask about your car....or.....have people stare at your car daily when you pass them on the road....or.....have people come up to you when you park to talk about the car? Well....I do! This is an amazing car and I love it!! :) If you are thinking/debating on whether or not to purchase a Stinger, I would recommend this car any day of the week! Seriously. Btw, thank you for the video.....great job showing it off! :)
Great review. Definitely worth the money! This car is a beast!!! Steering reacts well... transmission is smooth... audio is crazy!!! Has all the bells and whistles. I love this car in that color with that interior. I think they did a great job on this car. So much to like. I get that $50,000 is a lot of money to spend on a Kia, but for what I understand they have some great offers on them and the European competition will be a lot less reliable and will cost much more in ownership costs over time. And the American competition (Charger) is just a other rental car and just isn’t a fun, nimble car, unless you spend the dough for a SRT or Hellcat. Nice car, nice review!
My favorite car when I finally get some money. Stinger GT and Genesis G70 are the only cars I want on my driveway so right now enjoy my 2011 Sonata till that day. I pay cash for cars so might take a while or end up making payments for this. lol This got the best warranty in the industry so won’t break down like the Audi, BMW, Infinity and Mercedes competition. Last same as Toyota’s Lexus and Honda’s Acura but way cheaper to maintain and own.
Isaac Kamau both the stinger and Genesis G70 are sweet. They’ve done a great job with them. Props to you for paying cash for cars...that’s the only way to go and the way I recommend! Hope you can get one sometime...could probably get a used one soon for a decent price 👍
Prime Autotainment Yes that’s the plan, to get a 2019 GT sometime next year. Either your exact color or white. This machine is gorgeous... pictures and videos don’t do it justice because when you see one on the road all you do is stare. Just like the Telluride. Same for the Kia K900 & Cadenza.
if it only got recaro seats, still i think i will get it! cant get much better than this or the Q50 red sport ! but this looks better IMO in the interior !... well done KIA !!....
Great car i have the 2019 gts get 32 mpg highway with a great ride and lots of fun. Build quality is excellent. I like the ride it doesnt have the super hard suspension of most sports cars. Very nice on rough roads and even on gravel.
100 degrees and you’re wearing long sleeves and full length jeans Crazy Nolan. I was struck by the Stinger at launch but when I learned the right is taught even with adaptable Suspension I don’t know about the Journey.
gene978 the ride isn’t that firm. It’s a GT sports sedan. I’d say that it’s plush 99% of the time. I often wish for a firmer ride with less body roll in fact.
I like the looks and performance of this car, but it's biggest problem is it's a Kia. Unfortunately I don't think brands that started out as budget brands like Kia and Hyundai will ever get rid of that stigma.
Eventually it will. Kia / Hyundai just recently started upping their game. Will take several years of outputting quality new cars to shift that stigma.
I just bought this exact car today, very first comment i got from someone "Damn, nice ride! What is that?!?" Mind you, nowhere on my car does it say "Kia' bc the previous owner did some aftermarket mods, black with silver slanted "K" on the hood, it says "Stinger" on the back in black instead of the polished chrome (it's a small but noticeable detail that really enhances the look of the car), also says "Stinger" on the steering wheel instead of "Kia". I'm telling you, this is a car that gets noticed! I've had three BMW's in the past, and they were great, don't get me wrong, but unlike BMW, i have yet to see another car like mine on the road! Glad i saved my $ and got a car i love even more, and with an unbeatable warranty! Kia got it right with the Stinger GT2! 🔥🔥🔥
Due to the high price, I would take the smaller engine for about ten grand less. Except for giving up the acceleration it should be about the same thing I would think. Also the Hyundai G70 is a close relative of this with a different look.
If you get the GT or the GT1 like I have it has a different shifter that will lock it into manual mode when you slide it to the left. It is a better system than the electronic shifter even tho that costs more. FYI
The Stinger is undeniably a very impressive vehicle. It's a version of a European Grand Touring sedan designed for Americans by a Korean manufacturer by German designers. For the sake of argument, though, it's worth comparing the Stinger to another true European GT at approximately the same price point, the VW Arteon. Full disclosure. I own both a KIA (Sorento) and a VW (GTI) so my brand loyalty, such as it is, is about equal. The two vehicles are almost exactly the same length (15' 10" vs 15' 11"). The Stinger's 114.6" wheelbase is about 2 inches longer than the Arteon. It outweighs the Arteon by about 170 lbs in curb weight. Each is a "sportback" design but the Arteon has both more "trunk" space (27.19 cubic ft vs 23.3 cf) and significantly more overall cargo space behind the front row (55 cf vs 41 cf). That same difference plays out in terms of second row legroom (40" vs 36") while headroom is equal. "Grand Touring" sedans are supposed to accommodate more than two passengers on trips. The Arteon does a somewhat better job on that score. Then there's the highly subjective issue of looks. Each is an attractive vehicle (imo) but the plastic faux vent on the side of the KIA annoys me. Overall I'd give the Arteon the points here by a little. Each has an upscale interior. The Stinger is more "in your face" while the Arteon is more "minimalist" and (to my eye) somewhat more classic. It comes down, I think, to the value one places on some bells and whistles in the KIA. Each appeals to me in different ways. Then there's the elephant in the room. Obviously, the Stinger GT with its twin scroll turbo V6 is considerably quicker in terms of 0-60 and quarter mile acceleration than the VW's 2.0L four cylinder turbo. But that fact illustrates an important difference in terms of how most Americans and Europeans view "performance." There's a reason that Americans invented drag racing and stock car racing on high bank ovals while Europeans invented rallies and long distance racing on true roads and race tracks designed to emulate them. While Americans think of performance metrics in terms of 0-60 and quarter mile times Europeans are more likely to think of performance in a GT in terms of spending hours cruising comfortably on immaculately maintained highways at more than 100 mph and negotiating secondary roads paved over the cobblestones sometimes laid in place by the Romans two millennia ago. In the US the difference favors the KIA but I suspect that a race from Bonner's Ferry, Idaho to Cuthbertson, Montana (661 miles) would be much closer than the 0-60 and quarter mile times suggest, especially if much of that route could be traveled at more than 100 mph. The result might even go to Arteon. Finally, there's the issue of range and fuel economy. The Stinger GT is rated by the EPA at 17/25/20 mpgs with a range of 318 miles. The Arteon is rated at 22/31/25 with a range of 435 miles. In a Grand Touring machine range is important. (Consider the "tour" across Montana noted above.) And when you're paying the equivalent of about $8.00 a gallon for fuel, as Europeans do, 25% better fuel economy is important as well. Typically, the Stinger has been compared to much more expensive European GT sedans and that value proposition provides a strong advantage to the KIA if badge prestige is ignored. A more reasonable comparison, I think, is with the VW Arteon priced at about the same or less than the Stinger GT. I'm sure KIA will sell more Stingers than VW will sell Arteons in the US but for those who value a true European GT the Arteon is worth a serious look.
@@martinkostadinov2445 That's true, of course. I focused on the V6 Stinger because that's the model reviewed here and the one that most clearly illustrates the difference between an American-ized version of a European Grand Touring vehicle.
@@stephenhendricks103 My comment was especially about the fuel economy: 22/29/25 are the numbers for the 2.0L Stinger - more or less the same as the Arteon. Maybe it's good to mention something about the long term reliability, where KIA surpasses all the German brands (except Porsche, but that's different beer/level :) I really like the Stinger. It totally changed my perception for KIA as a brand.
@@martinkostadinov2445 As I noted, I've owned both KIA and a VW vehicles and have found each brand to be essentially equal in terms of reliability. i.e. Totally reliable. But that's personal experience, not a statistical comparison. Further, I've noted elsewhere that "reliability" is an incredibly complicated topic that can't be reduced to brand rankings when considering individual vehicles and model years. And that, after all, is what one buys rather than a "brand." I've driven both the 2.0L Stinger and the Arteon and I personally find the Arteon to be a better vehicle. But that may well reflect the fact that I own a GTI with the same 2.0L turbo as the Arteon so it feels more familiar. And when I've driven the Stinger 2.0L I've also driven the 3.3L V6 back to back and the best I can say about the 4 banger KIA is if you're interested in performance, don't drive the GT with the larger engine. It will ruin you. ;) On the other hand, the 2.0L Stinger has its own advantages in terms of purchase price and fuel economy. Obviously I agree with your perception of the KIA brand. And it extends to several models including the Soul, the Sorento, the Telluride, the new Forte, the K900 and the Stinger. I think the aging Optima needs a refresh to compete with the Accord, the Mazda6, and the Camry. The Cadenza is an interesting vehicle, as well, but again I think there are better choices among its rivals. I have no doubt that most Americans shopping in this category will opt for the Stinger GT. I simply thought comparing it to the Arteon highlights some interesting differences between an "American-ized" Grand Touring vehicle and a true European GT at about the same price point.
Aw man I've been sold on the Stinger since day 1! It's an all around great looking vehicle that does everything well. I'm really digging these sport back sedans. Hopefully you can get an Audi RS5 Sport back to review. Btw I was so tickled at your facial expression when the turbos kicked in on the 1st launch control run.🤣🤣
Tran Cross the Stinger also has awesome roll on acceleration. When I leave work, I roll onto the throttle from 5 to10mph in sport mode and it’ll rocket to 60+ effortlessly.
Anyone who thinks $50k is too much to spend on a Kia has no idea what they are talking about. So is the 2020 Supra worth the $60k premium? Or how about the Nissan GT-R? If anything, this car is underpriced compared to its competition.
@Catholic Firefighter 100% agreed. This car is in the same class with the Porsche Panamera, Audi S4/S5, BMW M340i, the Mercedes C43AMG, etc It's underpriced for what it is. You are easily paying $20k more for the other cars in the same bracket.
@Catholic Firefighter 100% agree except for from its sibling, the Genesis G70. Audi and BMW like you said make great cars but the great thing about Kia and all of their cars (except the Rio) is that you get so much for your money and more.
I’m 24 and have been looking at a car that has decent/good mileage but has the power to keep up with the faster cars. And from what I’ve seen this car can hit some damn good speeds. Do you think this is a good car to invest in or would another for the price be better?
For the price I feel like it’s a pretty good deal considering how many features it has and how it feels more luxurious than expected...but if performance is a bigger deal than you could get a Mustang/Camaro/Charger for cheaper...mileage isn’t great but not terrible either.
...loving my new Stinger...just swap out all those old, dull and dumb KIA badges for the much more exciting and better- looking original OEM KDM badges and then add the especially-elegant, Maserati-inspired rear script logo...I liked that look so much that I also fit that stunning logo on the front bumper as well...awesome
Bierhmann is an engineer not a designer. So there was no need to mentioning him when talking about the exterior design. Get the facts right sir. Gregory guillaume and peter shreyer designed this car.
He said it seats 4 but there were 3 head rests and seat belts in the back. I need that 5th seat belt to convince my wife it can carry the family in an emergency.
@@PrimeAutotainment I think that is the situation that it would be used. It's more likely a family with the youngest child in that seat than 5 adults in one car.
So is this better than a dodge charger ? Because remember. Chargers come in like 8 or 9 different forms. And it's also an affordable 4door sports sedan
Honestly, I’ve never driven A Dodge Charger! The only time I’ve been in one was a cop car 😂. I’ve tried to get access to dodge and FCA but no luck yet.
happios screw fixing the badge. Kia did a hell of a job. I tell everyone that I drive a Kia. Who cares what other people think. This is an undeniably super nice car regardless of the brand.
Cg3 I meant for badge whores ...personally I care more about the car than the brand. There are those that put fake AMG or M decals on their cars so that car seem more expensive
problem is the price Rather buy BMW all though parts cost more.. bit much fr a kia They’re trying to compete with the big boys.. not happening You have to lower the price
Do some research, the base Stinger starts around $33,000. Just like every other car there are tiers, he just happens to have one of the premium versions.
I've had three BMW Coupes, a 325 Ci and two 330 Ci's, the Stinger GT2 is more horsepower without being a pain in the ass, and pocketbook, to maintain js
It’s still a Kia.. everything in the interior is pulled from all the other cars just mixed and matched. The Hyundai/Kia UVO dash and center console is so tired. I hate looking at it. Exterior on the other hand is amazing. But probably not my first choice if I was going to spend the money.
What do you think of the Stinger? As you can tell, I was impressed in many ways. It punches above its weight and truly offers a lot.

Couldn't believe how fast it actually was as stock. Got a ride in one and was not expecting that.
I bought this exact car after seeing this review. Thank you
That’s awesome! It’s a sweet car, thanks for sharing!
@@PrimeAutotainment Looks like you have to endure the lousy roads of suburban Detroit. Born and raised there. Worst roads in the world.
Looking at one too... wondering what everyone’s monthly payments are on this
TURBOS! 2 of them...
THIS is the only KIA I’d buy
What about the new K5 GT, Telluride or new Sorento? Kia has way better vehicles right now than Mazda, Nissan and even Honda!
if it only got recaro seats, still i think i will get it! cant get much better than this or the Q50 red sport ! but this looks better IMO in the interior !... well done KIA !!....
Great car i have the 2019 gts get 32 mpg highway with a great ride and lots of fun. Build quality is excellent. I like the ride it doesnt have the super hard suspension of most sports cars. Very nice on rough roads and even on gravel.
How small the infotainment screen should be?
Kia: Yes
They should have made that in their genesis brand probably would been the hottest car on the market.
I'm not sure if I understand you
It's a kia, not a Hyundai. Only thing that's the same is the platform
im not a kia fan but id totally get this
Never thought I'd live to see the day that Glossy Primer would be a cool color. Yes...ima boomer LOL
finally, more diriving. other reviews focus too much on other stuff.
Ur new subscriber congrats thank u so much for showing me all this🤝💙
Thank you very much!
Great review. Just subscribed
Thank you so much 😁👍
100 degrees and you’re wearing long sleeves and full length jeans Crazy Nolan. I was struck by the Stinger at launch but when I learned the right is taught even with adaptable Suspension I don’t know about the Journey.
Haha gene that’s the way it goes down here sometimes. Good thing is I usually film in the morning when it gets down to 82 😁
J CR Oh God. It was a JOKE. Nolan knows I joke with him.
gene978 the ride isn’t that firm. It’s a GT sports sedan. I’d say that it’s plush 99% of the time. I often wish for a firmer ride with less body roll in fact.
woah got confused when I heard the familiar track. thought it was my music playing in the background!
delete those faux hood vents, like the hatchback trunk
Hi what’s the name and mode of that iPhone holder thingy
My future carrrrr❤️
Good review. will be getting 1 very soon !
Thank you! That’s awesome!

I wish the back end looked sportier. It looks long and has a fat end. Overall look could have been sportier
Just get an aftermarket rear diffuser
If you get the GT or the GT1 like I have it has a different shifter that will lock it into manual mode when you slide it to the left. It is a better system than the electronic shifter even tho that costs more. FYI
With the GT2 I just turn off traction control and it stays in manual
Stinger also offers 2.0L turbo engine (255 HP). Probably it's more appropriate to compare that one to the Arteon !
Maybe it's good to mention something about the long term reliability, where KIA surpasses all the German brands (except Porsche, but that's different beer/level :)
I really like the Stinger.
And that, after all, is what one buys rather than a "brand."
I've driven both the 2.0L Stinger and the Arteon and I personally find the Arteon to be a better vehicle.
@@stephenhendricks103 Thanks for sharing Stephen! I find the above info quite useful.
Thank you for the best Kia stinger review I’ve seen on UA-cam.
Thank you very much!
If Kia started out with cars like this they wouldn’t have a bad rep
Nice video as always. The car seems to have a lot features. My concern would be resale value in 4-5 years.
Have you checked the resale value of a five year old BMW?
Thank you very much! Yeah hard to say right now but based off first impressions...it’s very well done. Hopefully it holds resale value well!
@@stephenhendricks103 Or a Mercedes Benz? Shockingly poor.
Dream Cruzer purchase it used and you won’t take the initial hit in depreciation. As others said, the competition drops value as well.
Thanks Tran! It was really fun and impressed me all around. Thanks for the support 😁
Tran Cross the Stinger also has awesome roll on acceleration. When I leave work, I roll onto the throttle from 5 to10mph in sport mode and it’ll rocket to 60+ effortlessly.
This is my next car
Wouldn’t mind that screen being bigger but definitely wana get one
I heard you mention the Lexus GSF, how does this stinger stack up to the GSF? Which would you rather have?
Hatch for life.
Nice!! Can you put the navigation in the center display?
This is a great car, I don’t know if I’d get one in the future. But it has all the nice luxury features, just a little to much to spend on a KIA.
Yeah it is. I think that’s how a lot of people will look at it too. Thanks for watching as always 😁👍
No one pays sticker price. There is tons of rebates if you do your homework.
This car is in the same class with the Porsche Panamera, Audi S4/S5, BMW M340i, the Mercedes C43AMG, etc
It's underpriced for what it is.
What year model is this?
Will a set of golf clubs fit in the back without putting down either rear seat?
Yes they will! 👍
Cindy Keselowski - Yep! No problem getting my clubs in!
I just bought a 2020 stinger awd..v6
I’m 24 and have been looking at a car that has decent/good mileage but has the power to keep up with the faster cars. And from what I’ve seen this car can hit some damn good speeds. Do you think this is a good car to invest in or would another for the price be better?
For the price I feel like it’s a pretty good deal considering how many features it has and how it feels more luxurious than expected...but if performance is a bigger deal than you could get a Mustang/Camaro/Charger for cheaper...mileage isn’t great but not terrible either.
Monster Truck fitment.
Good review.
Thanks!
...loving my new Stinger...just swap out all those old, dull and dumb KIA badges for the much more exciting and better- looking original OEM KDM badges and then add the especially-elegant, Maserati-inspired rear script logo...I liked that look so much that I also fit that stunning logo on the front bumper as well...awesome
Can you get the dealership to do that for you?
The front bumper sounds like something a Indian taxi driver would do.
I prefer a wagon :) Stinger wagon would be sick!
Is this the 2019?
Is this the ceramic silver color ?
Bummer we, where the Stinger was born, don't have that matt gray colour.
That is a bummer...it’s a sweet color!
@@PrimeAutotainment Indeed! My favourite colour already even doh I've never seen one in real life :) Awesome video btw!
Kim Paul thank you!
Well bro. I want to get there first
So, what year car is this?
Does anyone know what year the stinger he reviewed is?
Is this the Lake stone color?
All my cars have had a manual transmission...i really like to shift...any chance a stick shift is in the future?
No clue!
you should look into G70 2.0 manual
Bierhmann is an engineer not a designer. So there was no need to mentioning him when talking about the exterior design. Get the facts right sir. Gregory guillaume and peter shreyer designed this car.
I’m saving up for one how much is that car
I would like it better if it was a 2 door. Great job on the vids :)
That would be sweet! Thanks Mike! 😀
@Silver N Black Mopar I know, I am just one of the few people that do not go around everywhere with an entourage.
Really love this car, is it me or is this character afraid to toe it??!!!
cant even hold a shift with out up shifting automatically....
Fastest car on the planet
Best!!!
Sick!!!
I want one !!!
hello from germany, this car cost`s here 62000 $.
Dang! Interesting!
Just wish there was a manual option 😣
What about the sound system? :))
Harman Kardon, same system that was in my Infiniti G35 Coupe. 15 speakers throughout with subwoofers under seats! It bumps!!
It has now a good competitor in price... Toyota Supra... the 2L even cheaper.
Would be a really fun car with their V8
He said it seats 4 but there were 3 head rests and seat belts in the back. I need that 5th seat belt to convince my wife it can carry the family in an emergency.
I said that because the middle is worthless unless it’s a small child who probably needs a booster seat or something anyways but you can try lol
@@PrimeAutotainment I think that is the situation that it would be used. It's more likely a family with the youngest child in that seat than 5 adults in one car.
In college we put 6 people in a CRX!
I love it
So is this better than a dodge charger ? Because remember. Chargers come in like 8 or 9 different forms. And it's also an affordable 4door sports sedan
Honestly, I’ve never driven A Dodge Charger! The only time I’ve been in one was a cop car 😂. I’ve tried to get access to dodge and FCA but no luck yet.
i dont think charger handles well like stinger does
ua-cam.com/video/JVglUP4z7fE/v-deo.html
It blew the Charger away, the Stinger being lighter and with AWD gave it a clear advantage. Badass car!! 🔥
If you disconnect the nostrils it becomes a BMW with better reliability. Just fix that badge.
happios screw fixing the badge.
The KIA badge looks fine for the other vehicles on their lineup but on the Stinger, it looks odd. They should have given it a premium, distinct badge.
What?😳 I’d get a Challenger Wide body before I get a Stinger! But if I wanted a Stinger I’d get an Audi, minus all the fake vents, 😑
Problem is the GT AWD no Hemi, would buy it for me it is the Stinger GT 👍 live in the north so want AWD
So a car that does everything alright but nothing great?
problem is the price Rather buy BMW all though parts cost more.. bit much fr a kia They’re trying to compete with the big boys.. not happening
You have to lower the price
Do some research, the base Stinger starts around $33,000. Just like every other car there are tiers, he just happens to have one of the premium versions.
I've had three BMW Coupes, a 325 Ci and two 330 Ci's, the Stinger GT2 is more horsepower without being a pain in the ass, and pocketbook, to maintain js
I’m a dad, are there car seat attachments in the back?
Yes there are the 2 latch anchors on each outboard seat bottom, then the top tether anchor on all 3 back seats 👍
I want to pick up this car lightly used, but I CANNOT find that color, and when I do, it's priced higher! :-(
EDIT: *Considerably higher*
Take your time b/c time is money. Have you found it? It's been six months since your post.
It’s still a Kia.. everything in the interior is pulled from all the other cars just mixed and matched. The Hyundai/Kia UVO dash and center console is so tired. I hate looking at it. Exterior on the other hand is amazing. But probably not my first choice if I was going to spend the money.
Actually this is a 5 passenger car, middle seat just isn't going to be as comfortable
