My husband was installing solar on the roof, and we had a sudden storm with high winds. I was yelling, "Get off the roof" and he was yelling, "I can't!" His hat flew away, and I realized his big ladder had blown down!😯 Thankfully, this old woman was able to set it up in the wind.😊 I wish someone had caught us on video. 😂 I'm thankful you are all good, and only some cleanup and a repair is required. Blessings to our Hollars!❤🙌
You are💪!
JO JO
Hey Hollers👋, awe Geez 😳.
We call them down bursts when the straight line gets into the forest, and oh No🫢Bad it's like pick-up sticks!
The golf course lost 90 trees where I used to live .
I'm glad you're not hurt and your house is safe ❤.
Good Piggies!
Boy, you earned that Chipper Ben 🎉.
Come on...
JO JO IN VT 💞
GOD SAW THIS AND HE BLESSED YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AMEN❤❤❤
AMEN 🙏
My grandpa said..Haste makes waste.. Agree on the gloves..for sure. Rings are a danger too....
Buggie is such a little helper. Its so sweet.
Speaking for myself and probably 99% of your subscribers, put the videos out when you can and we will continue to enjoy watching them. You are probably my favourite UA-cam family. I will watch and be happy. And yes, I'm from Canada so I spelled "favourite" correctly for my country even if it's not how you 'Mercans spell it.🙂😉
Bookworm-y American here - I spell it "favourite" too 😂
I USD to spell it that way when I was a kid and totally in love with Davy Jones of The Monkees, In my 13 year old way, by spelling the way they do in England, i fancied myself as a fellow country-girl. 😅
European here, we spell it the same. :)
Thank you, Meg and Ben, for letting us hear you say the whole blessing before dinner this time. I was curious to see if you added in extras to your blessing to reflect what's happened to/for you during the day.
It's always a pleasure to spend a little time with you all on the Hollar Homestead.
Take care and God Bless.
As a human with 99% hearing loss, thanks for showing your family wearing hearing protection! Part of my hearing loss is hereditary nerve damage, but a good portion of it is related to the 100’s of rounds of shooting clay pigeons in my late teens. I’m 68, and no one even mentioned hearing protection back then.
I think Buggie is a Daddys girl. She is so cute and learning so much from her dad. She will do well when she grows up.
I love ALL The Hollar Homestead videos!
Love the young man's haircut!!!! He looks so handsome!
Is that Brett or Corbin? Did both boys get haircuts?
@roywills5387 that's Corbin, the youngest boy.
The corn will stand back up give them time, they do that. Glad you all are safe!
My glass gem corn took a downburst from a storm a few weeks ago, and half of it was lying towards the east and the other half the west, flat on the ground. It has ALL stood back up and doing beautifully. We lost many trees as well.
That wood chipper was a great capital expenditure for the homestead. Happy that you are making good use of the chipper on the downed trees.
Ben, leave your corn alone. We live in IL and have corn all around us as well as in our garden. Many times, the corn will pop back up on its own and if it doesn't come all the way up, it will still develop ears and be good corn. Have had it happen to us many times.
70 years ago I was a little girl who was my dad's shadow like Miss Buggy is for her dad. You brought back a special memory. Thank you.
Love the cats greeting you
The cats seem to be enjoying being together and out with you more. Big Boy doesn't seem so shy. Love me some big orange kitties 😊
Ben, you are absolutely right about the gloves. I was working as a security officer at Randolph Hospital near Randleman, NC a few years ago and one morning they brought a guy in from Richard Petty's Garage that was wearing gloves while using a lathe and it got him. After the doctors got his glove off, his 4 fingers were still in the glove, it sheared all 4 at the knuckle!
Oh my gosh!That's awful!!
Oh wow that's awful 😮
On the other hand, my dad put his gloved hand into the hopper of our chipper/shredder while it was running last Thanksgiving, and miraculously didn't lose any of his fingers (they sure got all gnarled up, though, because he stubbornly wouldn't go to the doctor despite what we suspect was a cut tendon). I'm not saying any of his decisions that day were smart ones, though.
Ben, I love watching you do morning chores but it's because buggy is with you. Lol. So precious how she's always by her daddy side. So blessed.
I absolutely love the way you both are raising your family. We as viewers feel the love! ❤
Hello, Hollars! Ben, I enjoyed watching you chip the wood. That has to be so much fun
Praise God you are ok, some trees down....not such a big deal when they don' t hurt anyone or damage anything! Blessings! Hugs to you all!
Hi there, I am glad you didn’t get much damage. We have been getting a ton of rain and storms in Ontario Canada as well.
Only good thing about it is that I don’t have to water the garden,
Have a great night! 😊
"Don't get in a hurry"
@ 72, great advice 😎
Hello, i loved hearing all the pigs telling you about the storm! It was so funny listening to them, i had my own dialogue going on about what they were telling you! I am glad you are all okay and thank you for sharing!
So happy you didn't have any trees fall on your buildings or animals. Downed limbs give you wood chips, so all is not lost. Take care and have a Blessed day.
I love seeing Millie and The Sketch leading the way! In Toronto we had big flooding in the West side of the GTA ( Greater Toronto Area). Power outages, huge flooding, public transit shut down, roads flooded over, people trapped on car rooves. The Food Bank lost $50000.00 due to a flooded storage basement. This has all happened before. Toronto has terrible flood management.
I live in the East end, Scarborough. This end of the city is the older, poorer end. But! It's built on higher ground! So we have very little flood trouble.
May the Lord give relief and keep you safe
Yesterday, we got a surprise hard rain lasted only 20 minutes. Weather showed no rain. ❤❤❤
SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤🎉❤🎉
Pigs are thankful you made it through the storm, you bringing some grub! Love the chipper!
Wind was so strong it blew the thumbnail right off this video. Glad y'all are OK.
😂🤣😂🤣
That was a terrible storm. Hope it didn't damage any of your fruit trees. I saw on the radar that NC was about to get a storm. It completely missed northeast Tennessee. We need rain but can do without a bad storm.
Love to see little Buggie following her daddy around. Glad you didn’t have more storm damage than you did.
Thanks for the view of the storm damage. So glad you have a chipper for the wood. Remember when you didnt. Agree with Genci on your humour, always puts a smile on my face too. So lovely seeing your family today all enjoying life together! God bless you all! Happy Days! 🌳🌳🌳☀️🧊😄👏🙏🤗🥰
Our corn has blown over 3 three times it has not broken so my husband goes stalk by stalk and stamps each one back in and trys to get it straight up. Then we had a racoon go crazy on it. Then the corn got hailed on and so it goes.
Oh geez those winds! Thank God it didn’t do too much damage,
So glad you faired ok in the storm! Thank you for sharing❤
Glad all of your animals are okay and that you didn't have any major issues. Sorry about your corn though.
Sounds like you got what is called a plow wind. A plow wind is basically what you call a straight line wind.
Biggie is just a great little homestead girl, bless her, it seems that all of us have had bad weather , here in the uk like you we had a wet winter that effected the growing season really badly. Hope you all are keeping well and safe and little beautiful girl is not keeping you up at night, ❤️🇬🇧🙏
That golf cart is a little tank.
I was hoping to see the changes in the pig pen after you cut out all the trees that were down. I figured you would just chip the trees in with them to help with the ground being so soggy. Just an idea that maybe others would be interested in watching that. I like anything that is a project where it comes out improved. I can't remember you ever scrapping the ground in their pen either and I thought that would be good for your compost making efforts. Glad everyone is safe. Excited for the house add on.
That is so strange! I live in Oregon and we had a sudden thunderstorm hit a couple nights ago. Not much rain, but 40 mph winds that flattened my garden and dropped a massive load of limbs & branches in my yard. Absolutely no warning, nothing in the forecast. I still need to buzz up the biggest limb that is about 8" diameter & 20' long.😮
❤so grateful that you guys are okay!!!❤
Chipper works like butter! Nice, glad you have such a handy tool.
wowzers i hope the pieces needed wont cost the earth, great little machine there hope all else is ok hugsssss
Ben, you and the family are so deserving of the capital expenditure of the machines you acquired! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you didn't have to much damage. We also had 80 mph straight winds here in the Adirondacks blew our patio furniture off our deck chairs were ok but need a new table and umbrella. Unfortunately areas around us had some tornadoes fortunately not to much damage trees down, electric poles down some people finally have electricity again. The worst was a car dealership electric poles came down on the cars and started a fire and they lost 20 cars
Have a great weekend.
Blessings to you and the family. 😊🇺🇲
We love your family, the kids are awesome, but it just doesn't seem to be the year for farming....
Looks like it's not our year for corn....not our year for garlic...not our year for "insert here"....LOLOL, just having fun with you....the next line should be, at least we'll have plenty of sausage rolls with marinara to eat this year.🥰🥰🥰🥰
Those are solid rules to follow . Slow down don't be in a hurry, or you'll pay for it.
NEVER wear gloves on any machine with a self-feeder.
Save those fingers & possibly your life.
It's sad but I know a few folks who didn't follow these rules, and paid the price, a couple with their life.
Stay safe everyone!
Happy to hear y’all are ok. Seems like y’all are getting more of the type of storms we usually get all summer long here in Mobile, Al. We have not had near the amount of rain and storms we usually get
I swear by re-lyte it has been my summer time drink. Now it's my daily drink as I find it helps with leg cramps. That's some chipper you have. Good to know about the safety reverse leaver. Another great video.
Have a wonderful weekend
Glad to see a new post…!
WooHoo excited to see the build start!! Thank God for not much damage for you guys!!
So glad you are all ok...❤❤❤
So glad your family and animals are safe. ❤
Oh first time i've seen your youngest son with shoes on! I thought he was just 'barefoot'!! Lol
Many times I walked fences with my father after storms to make sure no animals could escape. We had a few extra fences to check. Brings back a memory or two.
Sonne Farms got 6 and 1/2 inches in one day in south Dakota, take care and stay safe 🙏
Thanks for the info on the electrolytes bc I was wondering why it tastes salty or sweet! Now I kno! Yah in Fatetteville it stormed a lot & the gusts were big. Supposed to rain tonight & all week, will be thankful for all of it.
Ms. Lillie, you are such a hard worker. You’re also getting better with recording yourself. I’m sure it’s not easy. You’re doing a great job!
I must complement Meg on Buggies beautiful hair style❤ I learned from deep South Homestead that the corn will stand itself back up if you give it time
Meg has replied in the comments from another video that Ben does her hair every morning.
Daddy is Buggys stylist.
Awesome guys !!!!! 😅🙏👍❤
You cut those trees around your home at the right time considering some of them were not growing properly. God is always watching over his children. Love you Hollars from afar.
The girls are growing so much. Build yea. I remember when I was so happy to just see one board go up when we was building. Glad you have young men to help. I was the gofer everything
Some good lessons in this one! My Dad lost half his pinky splitting wood while wearing gloves!
Hello beautiful family like always love watching your video
Coconut water is also good for your electrolytes. It cost $80 a box to get LMNT shipped to Australia
LOVE THE RE-LYTE! I have it on monthly delivery for 2 years now. I perspire when I get out of bed and I’m totally a healthy person
Your humor is on point, always puts a smile on my face!
I love that you included your prayer today. ❤
Love watching all y'all and hearing y'all pray.
Blessings wonderful folks, julie
A suggestion on the corn: if it's not broken, just stand it up & firm I back into the ground with your foot. My husband had to do that three times during the last 2 weeks. We have had 3 huge bouts of rain & wind during our drought! 🫣🤔🙄 The rain has been greatly appreciated, though.
Have fun building!! 😃
Hi from Scotland great vidio it was so lovly to see wee buggy in the vidio you can tell she loves being out and about helping her daddy all the best with the build take care. Anne from Scotland
Thankful that you are all ok! Blessings on the Hollar Family Homestead!🌻🐛🌿💚🙏🙏💕
Happy you all are ok. Glad you're getting bouts of rain.Been very dry in our area of KY. God bless.
Yes!! We are in NC and it was crazy, terrible. Thank goodness we were all in the house or carport (my 87 year old dad).
No build video this week. You got my hopes up and you dashed them expertly, sir.
Sounds like an F1 tornado hit. Glad you were all safe!
The wind feeds the storm, so it heads toward the storm.
Wow! What a storm. Glad there is no major damage.🌻🌻❤❤
came here from Big Bear Homestead....love your videos 🥰
Hello, tks for video. You will have lots totalk about on podcast Friday. Glad all is well and good....
My son when he was 16 got his glove caught in a power take off of our tractor. He broke his arm. One bone was bent the other broken. Someone at his age should not have bones able to bend. We have the Mayo Clinic as our health facility and they were astonished. His X-rays were used in many lectures etc. you are definitely right about the gloves except it was bitter cold so gloves were a must. (-20 degrees). Because of the bend it took a long time to heal. We had a storm last Saturday with 81 mph winds. Not much damage at my place but the apartment house next door had a lot of stuff blow into my yard.
I just love the back ground music. You have a fantastic family. Try not to get heat exhaustion
Is what it is! Thumbs up 👍
Buggy u are the cutiest farm helper
that is fine, do what yall have to do for the addition and we can see it later! Happy for the videos later!! Keep doing what you do!!
Good evening Hollar Homestead.
That storm put a lot back! I am glad you are all safe and well and the woodchips are a useful bonus!
Wowza, fun and awesome toy !! Good job cleaning up fallen trees . Awesome meals that Meg always provides the family. Nice video, glad you are all safe after the awful wind-storms.
Ah yes… straight line winds. You can see those on base velocity radar by the way. It’s how I track dust storms out here in the desert so I can button the house up at need. Usually they’re an outflow boundary from a larger storm.
Glad you're all safe
Interesting about the taste reaction the enhanced water. Never heard of that before.
I was recently in Central Oregon at my parents house and we got a nice thunderstorm and some much needed rain, but the lightning was so big and started fires not too far away! Glad that you all are okay and that the pigs didn’t get hurt!
Came in from cleaning the coop in 100 degrees to watch you work up a sweat... I thought it was kinda funny, go work up a sweat then sit and watch someone else work up a sweat! LOL
PLEASE, PLEASE give us MORE vlogs with LONGER content! If you don't have time to babysit the camera, just set it up and let us watch the work on the addition, more tree chipping, just ANYTHING. LOVE YOUR FAMILY❤
Glad you are ok Ben. Those trees the pigs have killed: I suggest an experiment. Fence one whose bark has not yet been eaten so they can not eat the bark but can pee near it. See how long it says alive. Eating the bark all around the tree will kill it for sure, no pee needed. The experiment will tell you how much the pee damages the tree if the bark is not damaged.
Love seeing you all ❤ you make my day each time you upload! Thank you!
I had a girlfriend who worked at the lumberyard with my dad. She worked the finger jointer. Her gloves pulled her into the machine because of gloves. She still had her hands and arms, but every muscle and tendons were pulled away from the bone. Can not tell you the surgeries and rehab . Her arms looked like she had been in a fire. So no! Don’t wear gloves
@@debragonser745 I worked in a grocery chain bakery for 23yrs. They always said we needed to wear a "safety glove" with a plastic glove over it, every time we used the bread slicer. Never felt comfortable, only did it when big bosses were watching. The glove was one size fits all, fit a 6'6" man " like a glove" and me, 5'2"woman, like an oversized sweater. I only let it catch the tip of the glove once, never wore it again.
@@kathrynblodgett1969 I worked in Safeway bakery for 12 years. I was working the day my friend came in to see me after her accident. Small world
Glad you were all safe in the storm! Many blessings to you all! ❤❤
