Thanks for a new video, Etho, much appreciated! Now a question: Are you planning to make a new modded series in the near future? I guess you reached the end of the TerraFirmaPunk, and if you do will you pick a existing mod pack or assemble your own? I guess the later would be more up your creek but could also be a lot more work to get the different mods to work together.
This week I've been updating and testing the mod pack I put together a few months ago. It's pretty much ready to go. So if all goes well, my next episode will be a new modded series.
The beauty is really in the details with Etho engineering… dude just casually revolutionized the TNT dropper in episode 565 of an LP. That staircase/water thing is engineered so brilliantly, it makes me really happy
We all know and have watched him credit and use other designs but this man has made alot of things in minecraft from the very beginning of his career playing the game that people probably use and dont even know is his wether he is credited by others or not he revolutionized and discovered many mechanics in the game.
I facepalmed :P. It made me realize why i love this fur-ball soo much, the detail he puts in every single block and word is soo great to have in the Minecraft UA-cam space.
I love how clear Etho's thought process was in this episode. The original plan for this episode was clearly to work on sandy city, and he wanted to update the walls first. Turns out he didn't have enough oak wood to finish it so he started faming the azalea bushes for oak wood, and quickly realized he was a sucker. And now its 5.30 am (as seen at 22.08) and he is almost done making a farm to collect the wood to work on the wall which was meant to be a 'warm up' project to get the episode started but it turns out building the farm took up more than half of the episode. Then what was supposed to be the meat of the video (Fixing up the unfinished potion dispenser and building a new building in sandy city) was done off camera to save time. Oh man, Etho is the best, Never change!
Stone generators are absolutely awful, I needed to make a moss generator and for the life of me I just couldn't get it to not make cobble on the occasion and lock the whole thing up. I entirely sympathize with Etho here
Correction: The "Recreating the Wiki" is the new "Nexus" which in turn in the new "Library". That's right Etho, I haven't forgotten about our dear old friend, The Library. Been waiting for that to be finished for years :,)
You know what though, what got me (and maybe others) so excited about the library was its original design with the cyan hardened clay. That gray / muted-cyan color palette with Etho's original modern-style design was such a cool aesthetic.... but unfortunately Etho tore that down lol. And with that the dream of the library was dead to me
I think I'm speaking for a lot of us when I say I'd watch an Etho LP episode no matter how long it is. In fact I kinda get excited when I see an extra long one
The longer, the better. I can't even play Minecraft. It's too good and I'm not, so I'd rather watch Etho or the gang on Hermitcraft. But Etho has remained above all, the greatest Minecraft player. It's been studied and prove!!! (There is a YT video about it.)
It's been done before. The advantage of dropping tnt down from above is a bigger radius, which is useful for tnt efficiency. Since Etho is only blowing up a single wall, efficiency is already out the window. For super optimized farms, dropping tnt is still superior, but it's also nice when people show off small simple farms that are easy to build and understand like this one.
@@TytonidaeIndustries Back in the day we used them all the time in multiplayer, but the actual implementation cost of an EATS road vs a minecart track was frequently questioned.
That last empty space in sandy city should be for a town hall, a government building, a grand mayoral thing! That is the only missing piece of city infrastructure missing. You could really stretch those creative muscles of yours, designing something grand like a capitol building while fitting within the desert theme. Loved the episode as usual, I was expecting the episode to end after the farm was completed, I checked the playback and saw 41 minutes! Working on a farm at 5am, loading and unloading your world 20 times just to look for a possible issue in your redstone, the levels of detail you go into on and off camera in all of your build. Most sincerely Etho, your dedication and hard work is noticed, and appreciated by us all. For my attempt at Question of the Day, can you look at your channel's impact on the 1,000,000,000,000 Minecraft views on UA-cam? Xsuma did a video about the blog post, but maybe could you take us on an "Ethos favorite moments throughout the eras?" A little refresher for the newer members who might not know your history? Thought that might be a cool idea for the end of a video... :D
This is one of your best LP episodes yet, Etho. From the thorough examination of everything you learned about the growth of azalea trees, to the step by step tutorial on a very complicated farm that anyone could easily follow and recreate in their own world, and to the blatantly obvious and significant improvement in your building skills as you updated Sandy City, this episode was stellar. Re: the CotD I was incredibly disappointed with the response to your episode 551 particularly as we were coming off the high of your latest world tour. Seeing you so excited about a new huge project made me smile and I was looking forward to you continuing it. I loved the design of the building interior - it was an earlier example of your building skills improving greatly. So when you didn’t mention the project again, I figured you would never bring it up. It’s very cool of you to answer uncomfortable questions like that. Thank you.
i like how ethical casually reinvents standard tree farms in a let’s play episode. always so much attention to detail and explaining things simply. this is why i still watch etho 8 years later
Having links between the various levels is awesome. Like that elevator to Sandy City. It makes it feel more like a single, connected world rather than discrete parts with connectors.
Hey Etho! What if you made a “natural” pond or spring in the empty corner of sandy city? It could provide reasoning for the lush greenery around the city and could serve as the reasoning of sandy city: a city that encompasses the only water source in the desert. Just an idea, keep up the amazing work :)
Hey Etho, I almost never comment on YT videos but just wanted to say that I love your content. I've been watching your videos for almost 10 years now, and still get excited when you post a new video. You are great at it and are a blessing to many, keep it up! Thanks for all the hours of joy :).
One idea that keeps popping up for Sandy City is some kind of statue. At 35:56 there's a spot between the staircase and the tree on the right that I think might work. A Llama would probably be the most fitting, but you might have your own ideas. Great video Etho, you're awesome!
Tomorrow I'll recreate your farm block by block, even down to the directional orientation. The direction often messes with cobble/stone generation, but I think resetting the water-lava streams by placing the sources one block further away and resetting them with a piston should fix the problems. I'll send you a tweet once I fix it, I'll give it a few tries. The reset countdown clock will be slower, but the farm will be 100% efficient. Also not using 0 ticks for moving stuff freaks my brain out so I'll send you a in depth design fix, making everything 0 tick, compacting it even further while keeping the directions of everything the same. I miss compacting your redstone, used to do it for every project you did. Even have a clock that's more precise with the timings in an old 1.13 world that still works. Also please some day take a look at my potion factory, it's 1 wide and 98% time efficient with the only hazzle being minecart chests for refueling the different droppers. You've inspired me to do redstone from the beginning. I worked with ilmango on the best mob farm in 1.8, you talking about compacting stuff made me able to invent newer and smaller circuits for most redstone circuits and I often used them for my own projects. I have even compacted your shulker refillers to such a small blue print. My redstone work never really took off, but you've been an amazing inspiration and you made me get into programming, which has shaped my uni education to focus on bioinformatics and wanting to make machine learning algorithms to invent new medicines. You are my number 1 inspiration for everything I've done since I started watching you on episode 38 of this series. I tried making a youtube channel to show off redstone stuff, but instead of trying to go further with that I became a behind the scenes helper for Ray's Works and ilmango on their projects. Idk if you ever heard of Beast and his smp, but I was big on creating their redstone projects. Once they made anything they sent it to me for me to compact it, I never leave a space of air in my projects. I explored 0 ticks and created decorative shulkers, where if you 0 tick push a glass block into them they can't fire bullets and can just be an aesthetic in ender themed builds or anything slightly magical. Green glass with shulkers would look amazing to just have dotted around your new lush cave, unless you hate their sound too much. Haven't tried to see if they work with the new dublication mechanics, but I'll give that a spin tomorrow too. One day I hope to get on a call with you and just talk about everything and anything, your interests, views and thoughts have shaped me to who I am today. And I'm forever greatful for that, even if it's just your UA-cam persona
I wouldn't call it a persona. Sure, he probably doesn't act exactly the same as IRL, but none of us do. But from stories about off-camera Etho and stuff it's pretty clear he's not acting, he is being himself.
Do you have a link to your twitter / youtube? Would love to check out your redstone and get a download for the updated azalea tree farm if possible. Thank you!
@@Huntracony yeah that's what I've gathered too from binging everything about him. I know it's unhealthy behavior to seek out and try and contact one's idols tho so I've always kept a down low profile around it
i’ve been watching your videos for about 8 years now and i’ve literally grown up watching this series lol it’s crazy. i’m 20 now and it’s awesome to be able to appreciate the technical builds. thanks for all the vids etho
If you want Sandy City to be an "Oasis" biome, you should put in some sort of water feature. It will give the city a reason to be "alive" and not "withering away" in the desert.
I recently revealed the genders of my two girlfriends. It got a lot of hate and now has 30 times more dislikes than likes. I am really sad that people can be so mean. Sorry for using your comment to talk about my problems, dear cef
I love the idea of making the mancave’s underground into a Terraria-esque Jungle! It was cool to think about building things like the Plantera bulb in the 3D space of Minecraft. Speaking of which… is Terraria 1.4 going to be EZ??
I heard on Zistea's channel that about a year ago they said 1.4 alone didn't have enough content to do another series but if calamity mod got updated they might
Etho, I've been a viewer for a long time and I absolutely loved your explanation of the tree farm. I don't even understand redstone, I never have, but I remember like ten years ago, watching you build your mob farms on Chocolate Island and being fascinated by the logic. I felt that fascination come back this episode, because your explanatory skills were just so great, even though I didn't fully understand the Redstone I was totally engaged. You're awesome at explaining and teaching, and what a great episode! Thank you for being you!
For the cobblestone problem: try putting the lava one block higher and adding a second piston above the first, a couple of ticks behind - give the water a little bit more time to flow
As I was thinking, however, personally I wouldn't automate it. A manually operated sticky piston would allow reset (after removing the cobble) and on/off functions.
Am I correct that with that solution, the lava would have to flow 2 blocks and thus the stone generation would be half as fast? (Not saying this is a bad idea, only asking to make sure I get what you mean)
This is by far my favorite Minecraft series. It's exciting and new because you always build new stuff with every update. But it's also very nostalgic because of the old world.
Etho, I've been an avid watcher of everything you posted for the last decade. I'm now in my mid 20s, and life has been extremely rough and I haven't watched an episode of yours in a while. Today after a long, long day I went to bed turned on youtube and just somehow remember your channel, went in and watched the last 2-3 videos and man, I can't begin to explain how important you are to me, from when I was a kid to now. In my toughest times, when my anxiety is enough to make me implode watching a video of yours gives me 30 or so minutes of inner peace, where none of my problems are real and the only important thing is how the llamas walk around Sandy City like that. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart thank you for all these years of helping me sleep, and helping me escape my troubles. One day I'd also like to talk with you, just see who this person is, but thats up to you, have a great day!
Hey Etho so I use a stone generator that makes the lava flow one extra block down before hitting the water and that never generates cobblestone. The disadvantage is its around half as slow as the generic stone generator design but the solution to that is to just use 2 of these safe stone generators to match the speed with complete safety. Hope that helps!
I do the same, i will eventually be able to identify what 0 vs 1 light level looks like but for now i just place torches where its dark. I also may need to slab over some slime chunks (atleast we have natural stone slab varients for that) Note: i play bedrock so no F3 menu to inspect builds with.
etho is a genius. plain and simple and the way that he looks at this game and can quite literally throw any blocks together like hes showcased numerous times and make it look good tied in with his big brain with redstone and the game mechanics all together is just insane. im currently rewatching from episode one and im seeing just how far hes came as well as us its kinda crazy thank you etho for the work you have put into your art and thank you for deciding to share it with us all these years!! you will always be one of if not my favorite youtuber. you are definitely the one of the ones i always find myself looking forward for new videos especially your lp hermitcraft and the other playthrough such as terraferma craft i forget how to spell it lol. thank you again etho you have brought an undescribable amount of joy to so many of us!!!!
This episode was a twofer! With all these finishing touches and new updates the next world tour is gonna be wild. and thank you so much for over a decade of fun entertainment to come home to.
When he said the undeground was like the jungle in terraria it immediately got the jungle theme stuck in my head. Perfect description of what it is like!
Hey Etho, I totally agree that the lush caves look like the jungles in Terraria. I'd love to see you follow through with that idea. The honey and Queen bee nest idea you mentioned sounds like lots of fun to watch and build. Great video
Hey Etho! If you’re using a colored sign try also using a glow ink sac on it too! Colored glowing signs look much better than just the colored ones with no glow! Love you Etho!
Yeah, I often don't REALLY understand how your contraptions work while watching the video -- no shortcoming of yours, you explain things very well, it's just that I learn better/faster when I build something myself because I don't do enough redstone to be intimately conversant with it, especially the more esoteric stuff. Of the ones I've seen this is my favourite azalea tree farm; compact and elegant. The thing I grokked right away was the TNT set-up -- man, that is brilliant, and while I usually don't bother with TNT (it's such a pain to get in peaceful mode), this time I will just because the setup is so awesome. I changed the lava for the stone generator to drop from double the height (which is half as fast) and I doubled it to keep up, so I don't need a special circuit. So far so good, no cobble. Thanks as always for the instructive episode, and I wish you Happy Holidays!
dude, thank you for the over explained azaleia farm tutorial. i'm not a redstone expert, but once i've done it in my world, it made a lot more sense, and it is a lot useful since it also farms bone meal. keep doing these type of videos whenever you come up with an ideia PLS
When I was building your moss farm from Hermitcraft, I often had a cobblestone coming out of a stone generator. Placing the lava one block higher and adding an extra piston helped me.
Thats such a genius thing, sure the farm will slow down alot from the lava needing to go 2 blocks everytime, but Etho's farms are meant to passively run in the background and not pull lever and get everything in 20 seconds. (Well the bamboozler is a stand around for it farm). And after seeing Xisuma's wool farm on Hermitcraft i was inspired to try to proof of concept a free range wool farm compatible with a pasture (basically all blocks must be flush with the floor). And if you are fine with manually restocking the shears into the dispenser and leaving some filter wool in the minecarts it will work. Would love to see etho do a take on it, maybe as part of his biome enhancement project.
In my opinion, this was one of my favourite LP episodes in recent memory! It just made me feel so cosy and that I was going around sandy city with you, tinkering and making little adjustments on stuff! This is really one of the first times this week I’ve been fully 100% comfortable as I’m having a really really hard time with my mental health at the moment, so thank you Etho, from the bottom of my heart
What an episode! Where do I even begin, Etho, you made so many amazing things! :) I'll start with the azalea farm- it's such an elegant technical masterpiece! The way you explained it made so much sense; I really like how you described the purpose of each part of the farm, and then the components and their functions, it was so easy to follow along how the contraption works! It does have quite a clean look to it, you did a great job compacting it! The ideas of the countdown timer and the staircase TNT dropper are next-level! The farm is amazing! The new building is awesome! The warm colour palette goes great with the azalea leaves, the stripe complements its shape, and the spruce details and roof are gorgeous! I think my favourite detail is the lounge by the walls for the guards to rest, I love it so, so much! It looks very relaxing, the colours make it feel extra inviting, the mixed sandstone types in the walls add a subtle layer of detail, the yellow stripe provides a bit of negative space AND a soft pop of colour, the mixed woods look super, the symmetry of the room and the asymmetry of the natural leaves are SO NICE, the little spruce arch in the entrance is a sweet little detail, the little window and the open door way makes it feel like a space to relax and despite it being a small space, feels airy, and also suits the theme of the desert village very well; and the scaffolding ceiling, WOW! That was such a great detail, it looks beautiful with the colours, fits the theme of the indoor/outdoor space, and adds to the airy but relaxing feel to the room! I love it, if I were a guard of Sandy City I'd enjoy siting there and unwinding when taking a break from my guard duties, it looks so peaceful!
Etho has been my favorite youtuber since the early days of Chocolate Island, but I've never written him a comment with so much love and praise (and word count) as this. I'm both impressed and a little concerned for you. You seem like a great person, and I love that you are so willing to share praise with someone you admire. The world needs more people like you. But I want to make sure it doesn't come at a personal cost to you. This is a parasocial relationship you have with Etho -- You clearly know him well, but you are a stranger to him. Please make sure you show this love with the real people and real relationships in your life as much as you do here with Etho. With love, another biggest fan :)
@Harvest Unfortunately, I think UA-cam may have removed your reply, I've noticed it's been doing that lately when people ask to get in touch or talk about another website. However, I did save it when I had the tab open before it disappeared, so I still got to read it. I really appreciate your kind words! And... I think I would actually love to write books on art! I'm touched you enjoyed reading my style of writing, and am glad I captured what I saw and felt. If I do get around to writing art books, I think you'd definitely be one of the people I dedicate it to! You've inspired me, thank you so much! :)
Really loved this episode. After watching the season finale of building with BDubs I really have an appreciation for the subtleties required to make a building feel complete, and you cranking out 3-4 minor buildings and a large house was really entertaining. Plus the amount of projects you mentioned working on makes the world feel like it still has so much potential. Thanks for the content!
For the "blacksmith" in sandy city, maybe change to a "metal smith". Place copper, gold, and iron blocks in small piles along with the emeralds. Might look cool 😁
Etho!!! Sandy city is so beautiful! I love the style so much. Every little detail fits and looks thoughtful. Your color schemes are always awesome too. Thank you for the video!
This was an absolute treat of an episode! I love the longer ones so much, because they have a bit of everything, but none of the things feel rushed. Some worldbuilding, some technical building and a redstone lesson, and some time spent building within a theme to top it off. This stands out as one of my favorite recent episodes for sure.
Nothing has made me happier this month than being able to "join" your youtube channel. I barely missed your first donation phase. I'm more than happy to support you my friend. It literally makes me very happy
I absolutely love the idea of the terraria underground jungle in your world, makes a lot of sense and there's so much inspiration to go off of. I think the idea of a corrupted section could be really cool too!
When he said "desert park" I instantly thought sand pit, like those ones kids would play with in playgrounds. I know that deserts are all sand but I think it would be quite funny if there was just a cornered off section of sand in the village.
Etho I really liked your and Iskall's base this season, and yours the season before that! You're a force of nature in 3rd life, too, and that's super fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your point of view! Happy holidays!
Hey Ladders! I've just spent the last few months binging through the entire seires and enjoyed every moment! Its great to see even after all these years that you still edit old projects like Sandy City! Keep up the great content!
I don't usually comment on videos but I just wanted to say that this video was amazing. You've easily revolutionized at least 3 different redstone mechanics and your building I've never enjoyed more. Keep up the fantastic work, Etho.
Man, I really loved seeing the motivation in you this episode, it feels like this update really sparked something. So many years later, and you sound more thrilled than ever to be playing!
Hey Etho, I have been messing around with moss farms since moss came out. I found the cobblestone thing so difficult too! From what i understand, it seems the lava has a *very small* chance to flow down, before the water flows side ways, meaning the water technically hits the lava and creates cobblestone - the best fix i found was surrounding where you want the stone with water sources, and pulling the stone down from below whens its generated, before pushing it across into the farm. This means the water has at least 3 sources it's coming from, and its very unlikely the lava will randomly tick down faster than one of those water sources can flow sideways.
Amazing nonchalant work of art. I was able to follow you and build the Azalea Tree farm in my world...thanks so much ! It eats thru bonemeal like crazy, so the semi-auto mode with planting the trees works really well....best bang for your buck. The counter for the tnt (let alone position of the tnt) saves from so much wasted, that was really helpful!
over the past few months ive been binge watching this series so i could watch more of your videos when you upload. love the content and thank you for the unique building style that brings life to your world.
Cool Azalea tree farm that has a fairly small footprint, is easy to follow & has a most ingenious TNT system 😊 It would be great to see some villagers or pacified pillagers roaming around Sandy City (which looks awesome btw) though, I guess over time they might just disappear due to glitches etc... Your world is amazing! 🤗💛 Take care
oh yes I love it when you do redstone builds on camera. The tnt stairs contraption was pretty ingenious and simple! Also, I cant wait to see how the terraria jungle-like lush caves are gonna look like.
I can’t get enough. In between the new episodes I’ve watched every series you’ve ever posted multiple times. I’m currently rewatching the original Mindcrack FTB episodes. This is my comfort zone watching your content. Thanks for the years of awesome stuff Etho. You are a legend! Also, how did you get those walls to go around Sandy City like that?
The thing that could make this farm even more awesome is if you could attach your old ghast blaster idea and a bonemal farm for an infinite and self sustaining tree farm
I love how Etho makes his world seem like it’s always lived in. Not by just one person, but by multiple. Love every bit of content you make Etho. I hope you find something to do with the Wiki Project. I was fascinated by the idea!
Honesty one of the best episodes i’ve seen of your let’s play in a while, you always deliver such amazing content but I love seeing your designs and your redstone practical builds, great job etho
Hey Etho! I just finished binge watching all your let's play videos! It took me 3 months and I loved every second! I get really inspired by all your creative ideas! Watching you execute these seemingly huge and impossible tasks and watching this world grow has truly been something special. There is one thing you've mentioned a few times that I hope you might tackle some day! Is a zoo for all the mobs something that still interests you? It probably wouldn't be a red stone intensive project, so I wasn't sure if there would be much of a challenge in it to keep you going. At this point, I think you've probably rangled and trapped almost every mob once already and I bet there are some you really won't want to do again. On the other hand, making a bunch of enclosures could be fun!! In any case, thank you for all the laughs and i look forward to your future plans!
I love how the Hermits have their dramatic season finale videos and Iskall and Etho is just chilling on their mountainbase like: "whats all that fuss over there?". It would be hilarious if Iskall and Etho just continued their Hermitcraft episodes completely unfazed. Merry Christmas Etho!
Loving the amount of progress you’re making as a whole. I’ve started a big project to revamp a massive cave to be super functional and basically become a lush cave and I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from you ergo. Thank you for being my childhood and adulthood now
I really enjoy watching these old builds (almost nostalgic) like the desert city, and seeing you upgrading- and adding stuff to it. You've become a great builder over the years!
i'm a bit sad the wiki project is seemingly dead honestly, i really enjoyed everything you did there and thought it was a super cool idea! maybe im an outlier but i really hope it at least gets continued more in the future. admittedly, its not a very cool place right now since its just one room, but i think the spectacle of the "lab" will grow exponentially the more and more you add to it. id be satisfied if only one in every 10 episodes was a wiki-focused episode honestly, it makes for a cool break from your usual projects and i loved the abstract style of the room you built. i remember back a long time ago you had an idea to build a "redstone museum" that showed off and categorized all the different features and components of redstone, and it was really exciting to hear about this new project since it seemed like those plans were finally coming to fruition. i always thought of the project as a way to condense all the information you gain from building farms and projects, not to replace those things entirely. if someone wanted to learn about minecraft through you, itd be much easier for them to visit the wikipedia in your world than to watch all 560+ videos. its not replacing the showing off of game mechanics, just cleaning and condensing it all into one massive amazing place. i think there's still merit in that.
I'm back with more #EthosMath! I spent hours looking at the upload dates of all 565 episodes, and compiling them onto a graph for you to look at. You can find the URL in the description of my channel!
The graph requires some explanations man. From the title of the spread sheet and the graph itself seems like there was about 90 days gap in uploads recently...
Pretty cool! It'd be nice to have some labels on the graph so it's a little clearer what the scales are and what episodes the large spikes are on. Maybe annotate some of the large spikes with known reasons if they're available.
This was such a great episode! Sandy City is looking amazing :D I was very happy to get some closure regarding the wiki project and understand that not everybody was into it. I'm definitely glad to hear that you may add more rooms to it. This episode was very satisfying for me and I cannot wait for the next one
Every single time I learn something or get an idea because of something said or done by Etho... today it was the terarria jungle underground similarity to lush caves. Totally making a bee farm in a recreated lush cave in my area with the whole, so much for the bees to pollinate from that's NOT the standard flowers! Including trees(azalea leaves) and bushes! Such a unique look. Also the biggest thing I NEED to start doing asap is the addition of a Vegetation Decoration Shulker Box in my standard collection of shulker must haves... genius!
Hey Etho, you're always so creative in your builds and designs, do you have creative hobbies outside of minecraft? e.g. lego, drawing, writing? Have watched your videos for a long time keep it up!
He used to do hobby programming; I don't know if he does it anymore. He might do gardening as well since he used to work at his family's horticulture business before UA-cam became his job.
Hey Etho, just maybe a suggestion for the blacksmith, have you considered adding raw iron or copper to the blacksmith instead of the emerald blocks, I think that would work pretty well. Great video again and looking forward to the next one!
I really love the work put into prettying up sandy city! It definitely makes a world of difference, and I think it looks great. One thing I reckon that would be really cool though, is if you could get llamas to walk around sandy city? Pretty sure I saw some guy called Ergo do that once, you should look him up
Thanks for a new video, Etho, much appreciated!
Now a question: Are you planning to make a new modded series in the near future? I guess you reached the end of the TerraFirmaPunk, and if you do will you pick a existing mod pack or assemble your own? I guess the later would be more up your creek but could also be a lot more work to get the different mods to work together.

“Cool” is definitely a word! Maybe even a word that can be applied there... I was thinking more in terms of “dork” you know, but “cool” works too! :p
I didn't get that at first xD
Ergo feels just like a friend
Etho: redstone genius
Also Etho: stone generator was a nightmare
I'm getting sky factory flashbacks.
it has been a common theme, with the silverfish farm to the moss farm to the azelea farm, stone generators have always bested mr. slab
Stone generators are absolutely awful, I needed to make a moss generator and for the life of me I just couldn't get it to not make cobble on the occasion and lock the whole thing up. I entirely sympathize with Etho here
That, and roofs.
i feel like a grandma everytime etho explains redstone, no clue whats going on but is still very proud 😌

And with that the dream of the library was dead to me
The Nexus is now way more finished than the Library though
The Library? Was that this in this series? I barely remember it. I almost feel like it was in some modded series or something.

@@atrocious_pr0xy where can I find this video?
When Etho makes long episodes it's very nice.
Etho just casually inventing a superior tnt blast chamber dispensing method in his let's play series

Agree with the question of the day
A great question of the day!
Thank you.

I was thinking he could build an ice pit like in the Misty Palm Oasis, but either would be cool:D

You're awesome at explaining and teaching, and what a great episode! Thank you for being you!
I'm loving these deluxe-sized episodes. I hope he keeps making them this long.
@@puppieslovies true... I was hasty in my suggestion. However by also having a lever operating the piston the system could be turned on and off.
Am I correct that with that solution, the lava would have to flow 2 blocks and thus the stone generation would be half as fast? (Not saying this is a bad idea, only asking to make sure I get what you mean)
@@TheUnknownFactor twice as slow, but infinitely more reliable. Having a pair of generators should be sufficient to keep the haste going

may be as big a fan of you as i am of etho
Hey Etho so I use a stone generator that makes the lava flow one extra block down before hitting the water and that never generates cobblestone. The disadvantage is its around half as slow as the generic stone generator design but the solution to that is to just use 2 of these safe stone generators to match the speed with complete safety. Hope that helps!
I like how etho severely over-torched the cave because he's used to the previous light level requirement.
I do the same, i will eventually be able to identify what 0 vs 1 light level looks like but for now i just place torches where its dark.
I also may need to slab over some slime chunks (atleast we have natural stone slab varients for that)
Note: i play bedrock so no F3 menu to inspect builds with.
It's going to take quite a while to undo the habit. It's been 11 years for me of a certain torch density
Do mobs no longer spawn up to light level 8? That caught me very off guard in the video as it's the first I'm hearing of it!
Yeah I know it's hard to change old habits but it might help etho to use Redstone torches to keep the atmosphere intact .

ive literally been watching this series for 10 years and im still excited to see it in my feed, much love
Thanks as always for the instructive episode, and I wish you Happy Holidays!
dude, thank you for the over explained azaleia farm tutorial. i'm not a redstone expert, but once i've done it in my world, it made a lot more sense, and it is a lot useful since it also farms bone meal. keep doing these type of videos whenever you come up with an ideia PLS
the scaffolding ceiling is an excellent idea!! perfect lattice-like material :)
I’ve been really liking the last few episodes! So simple and slow and lots of talking. Just Etho, Minecraft, and me ❤️
What an episode! Where do I even begin, Etho, you made so many amazing things! :)
I'll start with the azalea farm- it's such an elegant technical masterpiece!

No matter how long it is between an episode, I will still always watch it.
Amazing nonchalant work of art. I was able to follow you and build the Azalea Tree farm in my world...thanks so much ! It eats thru bonemeal like crazy, so the semi-auto mode with planting the trees works really well....best bang for your buck.
You’ve completely changed how people will use TNT for tree farms! An incredible innovation, given how long the old method has been used.
Hey Etho, With the Warden Boss being realised soon, what ideas for funky projects or farms do you have in mind already?
Today was a blast of an episode! Tons of redstone and building together... thank you Etho! :D
I love how the Hermits have their dramatic season finale videos and Iskall and Etho is just chilling on their mountainbase like: "whats all that fuss over there?".
It would be hilarious if Iskall and Etho just continued their Hermitcraft episodes completely unfazed.
Merry Christmas Etho!
it would be funny, but they did shut down the server as far as I know
I'm not one to speculate about stuff like this but I don't know if Etho will be in the next season
I think it was an exceptional idea!
I liked the idea too
There’s a lot more things to do now 1.18 is out. He can always return to it later once he runs out of new farms and build etc
I'm back with more #EthosMath! I spent hours looking at the upload dates of all 565 episodes, and compiling them onto a graph for you to look at. You can find the URL in the description of my channel!
The graph requires some explanations man. From the title of the spread sheet and the graph itself seems like there was about 90 days gap in uploads recently...
super interesting!! tysm for this :)
@@JustAnotherPerson3 that's not a mistake. Etho recently went 97 days without uploading a let's play and it was his longest hiatus ever
Also the biggest thing I NEED to start doing asap is the addition of a Vegetation Decoration Shulker Box in my standard collection of shulker must haves... genius!
I love long episodes, especially when it means we have time for more in depth explanations of projects. I was really excited to see this posted!
I was thinking copper too. Never did like the way the emerald blocks look
I really love the work put into prettying up sandy city! It definitely makes a world of difference, and I think it looks great. One thing I reckon that would be really cool though, is if you could get llamas to walk around sandy city? Pretty sure I saw some guy called Ergo do that once, you should look him up
That stair trick is insane 14:45 . Solving problems we all have that no-one ever thinks about.
Really enjoying the balance between technical and building content in these episodes!
