Salam, Did you know that this is mentioned in the Torah too in the same book that says don’t eat pork Leviticus 11:9 -
“These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.”
It surprises me that Christian’s don’t follow this rule but we Muslims know the truth ☝🏽
I learned the same from my muslim and Jewish friends. Eating only fish with scales. Mixing fish and milk prohibited.

Qur'an Said that we can eat every seafood and Ahlebait told us , Quran is permitting which type of every seafood. That's simple.
We can eat every seafood. which is Permissible in Islam by Allah, or His Prophet or his Prophet's 12 succesors.
That's Simple. Islam is Simple. Human must get intelligent and Educated, never waste time in Haram things or wrong things, Do study and find out what's right and what's wrong.

To check if the fish has scales or not, see if it has bones. Fish having bones are with scales, those without bones are without scales.
Catfish has bones and has no scales.
Wrong, very wrong. All fish have bones! Fish are vertebrates! Even lampreys and hagfish have bones, though they are made of cartilage. Octopus is a mollusk, and crab an arthropod, and both are haram, for they are not fish. Shrimp are an exception, because of narrations. They are crustaceans.
I wonder what the ruling on saltwater crocodiles is. They are not fish, but they have scales.

Quran clearly mentioned that all sea food is halal. If only scaled fishes are halal then it would have said like that..

I'm used to hearing Daleel when I'm told something is haram or halal, I'm sunni myself but I'm here out of curiosity, Can someone enlighten me as to why fish without scale are haram?
One of the reasons: Rest are either carnivores/scavengers...mostly the scale fish do not have teeth and they don't eat dead fishes..

I always thought they were Makruh (not recommended, but not Haraam)
I think they do but anyway there's a hadith from the ahlulbayt in which they say that the fish with scales are halal and all other fish and seafood are haram with the exception of shrimp and prawns

Why other fish are haram .why only skells fish halal is there any hadees from Rasullah and imam
I know muslims that eat all seafood, but the bible says only fish with scales, so no catfish, shrimp, oysters, squid, octopus, shark etc. I have always been confused by this, but now I believe if I heard correctly (pardon me if not) it seems to be a sect thing. i do not judge that is for Him to do. Just always been confused about it.
For Shia Muslims it beyond our imagination to eat seafood except fish with scales.

Skipjack tuna has no scales, except on the lateral line and the corselet (a band of large, thick scales forming a circle around the body behind the head. (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skipjack_tuna ). Per the video, it is permissible.
