There are more of us who love the dark pit of despair theme than the ones who don’t like it. But I feel so bad for them. I think I am scaring them. They don’t realize that the dark pit of despair themselves are probably scarier than the music.

Love your concealer description. No one does it better than you. In fact, i’m not sure anyone does anything similar consistently. I haven’t tried any Gucci complexion products except for the bronzer, which I love. Knowing that it full coverage has piqued my interest and I might check out in store.
Tracie! First of all, thank you so very much. Secondly, I wonder what you will think of this one. It’s absolutely definitely full coverage but the texture is so so thin, I wonder if you’ll be thrown off by it. I would love to hear what you think of it even with a swatch on your hand in store.

Me too. Only three complaints have been registered and I didn’t look so it might actually be the same person. I feel horrible if someone is offended so I’m trying to use a little less. There’s always someone ruining the fun. Ha ha
The entire look is really good. You don't look tired at all, the concealer has good coverage. The lipstick shade is very pretty too. I'd call this a win!

I love this concealer I got 34N and it melts into my skin I LOVE the shades and finish! I am 58 years old! I have tried them all and this one is lovely!!!

Love your explanation about the texture , because I really dont like my pat magretch concelear, I tried so many times to Make work, and I dont understand why because everybody loves….. but now I realize that maybe the texture is not for me , so I will get the tower 28 and see whats happen!!! Yes. I do not like the PML consistency either. It is so thick and so difficult to blend. The tower is so so so much thinner. Try that or Natasha or shape tape radiant. But if you do the shape tape make sure it is radiant and not creamy and not original. The creamy in the original much more like the Pat McGrath.

Dark pits of despair where??? Your undereyes looked so bright!!! It's like Gucci bottled sleep! I get that darkness around my eyes from wearing eyeshadow too, but I think on me it's my eyes getting irritated from taking off the makeup and washing my face.

How is the coverage compared to the haus labs concealer?
Both EXCEPTIONAL. Same coverage, thinner formula in this one.
I’m so glad to hear you say there’s no noticeable fragrance, I was certain Gucci would have loaded it up! This may be a contender, but my gosh there are so many new concealers out.

I haven’t used an eye cream is so long. I tried the new Huda wishful one and I loved it but then I had an allergic reaction to it and I haven’t worn anything under my eyes except for maybe running my moisturizer up there a little bit. I should try to put some on the lids.

I’m with you….tired this week. My kitty has been a nutball the past few nights. I’ve been wanting to try a new concealer. This one looked pretty good. I really like the thinner consistency. I will wait for a sale though. I am, however, excited about the LE eyeliners coming out. Those I will be picking up when they are available today. Have a nice day!

Today’s description of the spectrum of concealers was among your best yet! So maybe you could just do a video using that with examples (and a real chart for fun) and refer to it so people could go watch it?

This was the 2nd concealer I was interested in. The 1st was Haus Labs, which I love . I’m definitely going to try this one. Thanks for the review. ❤❤

You look fabulous. Love your hair & the power of makeup covering up the darkness, fantastic. I love the packaging of this one, but found out its $72 here in Australia and I just can't spend that much. I've been thinking about the Natasha Denona concealer having seen a lot of positive reviews. How do they compare and which do you prefer?
ND concealer is LOVELY in that it's so creamy and pretty. It's TRUE medium in consistency and covers well but this rash of new concealers covers darkness a bit better. Remember, we are SPLITTING hairs here. They're all so good.

The packaging is gorgeous. I completely agree. Don’t sweat the shade choice too too much on a concealer. Honestly, as long as your foundation shade is correct there can be a lot of mistakes with concealer that nobody will end up noticing. Don’t tell anyone I admitted that.

I have been hearing that it's not that hydrating and it's kinda leaning matte and maybe not great for dryer skin and neutral shades leaned warm Idk about this one, I wanted it but I heard the Tower 28 was better for dryer skin and for the money u can basically get 2 of the T28 for the price of the one. Either way I am kinda glad I waited cause I was gonna get 24N and idk if I like that shade really maybe 25 looks better to me for a winter shade that's not that yellow peachy color.
The T28 likely would be better for drier skin. I’d agree with that. But they are very similar. It’s truly splitting hairs. Both have amazing coverage. I feel like the T28 actually creases less with powder.

Both thin but creamy, just lighter in feel than Charlotte and Natasha. Both are lovely but do not cover as much.
LOVE IT as usual girl !! Can you please do KJAER WEIS new Cream Bronzers ?!?!?! I bought 3 of the 4 shades and they are unlike any bronzers I've tried -- somewhat neutral, one seems kind of cool. They are listed as bronzers not contour, so I'd love your take !! Gorgeous brown tones, not orange, but can't decide if they're leaning cool or if its due to my tan warm skin. Thanks hun !!!!

I tried out the GUCCI yesterday and I really do like how it wore and the coverage. It’s a tough comparison to the Tower 29 because that is a serum. To me, it was a bit more like the Mario. Great review as always.

The packaging is beautiful. I did a side by side with Kulfi. I finally got it. I prefer the Kulfi but I’ll keep the Gucci. It’s nice

Thank you for this review, Rebecca! I’ve tried more foundations over the last year than I care to admit and the Gucci has been my absolute favorite (normal skin, I use a thin layer of face oil underneath for more slip) and so I quickly ordered the concealer when I found it online the other day. It should arrive today. I’m concerned I blew it on the shade choice. I often wear the same shades as you and in the foundation, I went in store months back and settled on 275C. It is perfect for me. So that is already different than your shade.
For the concealer, I ordered 16C. I now fear I went way too light based on your shade pick when your foundation shade is a lower number than mine. We shall soon see how I fared!

Pam, I find that where shade choice matters LEAST is with concealer. Honestly. AS LONG AS your foundation shade is right, and you know it is because you chose in store, you can make the concealer work. Truly. I would not worry at all. BUT let me know what you think when yours comes.
Ma’am you look STUNNING. The hair, the makeup. You are glooowing! I will say I am a BIT disappointed on how it wore😪. I have the gucci bronzer/blushes and they’re super long wearing (yes I know liquids vs powders). But since this is more of a luxury brand, I expect MORE from them.

Yeah! I bought it when it first released and it creased horribly and separated on me. The foundation doesn’t work out well either. So far the ONLY concealer that works for me are the tarte shapetape and that new concealer from Urban Decay. But I LOVE to try new things! Currently waiting for the tower 28 to arrive 😊

@@michelleisabel I reread your comment and it was quite obvious you meant the lipstick. Please pardon my misreading of it. No. The liquid lip that I used for this video, it’s kind of a cream liquid lip, no obvious or horrible perfume scent. Because I know exactly what you mean. So many of these French perfume houses just heavily perfume everything and on the lips it’s disconcerting because it’s right under the nose so you just smell it all day. Yuck.
I want to try it but never buy full coverage concealers… 🤔 will have to mull over this one. Great review!
This one is interesting because it does provide full coverage but the formula is very thin. So for me that actually works because usually full coverage concealer are so thick.
Great review! Just curious what it is that you like about the Gucci concealer over the Tower28? Those are the two I have my eye on if all the concealer releases lately :)
It’s truly splitting hairs. They’re both thinner medium with the T28 being a serum. The Gucci is also thin medium but being full coverage, it covers a bit more, quickly.

This is the Gucci concealer review I’ve been waiting for! I needed to know where this sat on the concealer spectrum before I even considered it! Now that I know, it’s probably not perfect for me in spite of the gorgeous packaging! It looks great on you! If I ever decide to dip a toe on the other end of the medium spectrum range, this will be the one I choose!

I tried to use the sound effect more sparingly in this video but I need to let you know that it hurt! Ha ha I have had only three complaints. And they were three different videos so it might actually even be the same person. I don’t always check as much as it seems like I do when I answer replies. I admit this. So it might just be one very vocal person who is very anti-suspenseful music.
I really enjoyed your review, Rebecca! I love how you explained texture versus coverage! At 62 years old, I definitely don’t want texture! Lol This Gucci concealer looks like a great option for me. In the past, I used YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes, as it had a wonderful brightening effect. Fortunately, I wasn’t graced with the “Dark Pits of Despair”, but I do have some hyperpigmentation, or dare I say, age spots!😅

I have a friend that i bought a "touch of luxury" set from Sephora as a gift for Mothers Day & it had the Gucci mascara. She really loved it so i thought about curating a set for her with this concealer but can't quite decide on a shade. I do know she wears the NARS in Affagotto...very light...🤔

I turned my mom on to Tarte and tried to help my SIL but she's a nurse so doesn't bother too much with makeup these last few years of the pandemic!!
@@pinksparkle258 yes. Make up and nursing are not always something that goes hand-in-hand. I have actually heard really good things about the Gucci Mascara, I like a good dry mascara because I’m messy when I put it on.

Loved this review! The total finished look was beautiful on you. I don't have any Gucci products except 2 blushes. I really haven't been using concealer, just color corrector doubling as a concealer.
This one is beautiful though so I might have to try it when there is a sale as the price point is up there for me. There can never be too much dark puts of despair music!!! This coming from another dark pits of despair sufferer.

The Givenchy concealer is much more typical medium in terms of the fluidity and does not cover as well.
Hi Rebecca! Thank you si much for featuring the Gucci concealer and doing a full demo and wear-test of 2 shades. (And thanks for putting in the pits music once only - and appropriately at verdict time.) I had been hoping you would review this new concealer as your opinion is the only review I trust. Now that you have given this one your seal of approval, I am going to order it )not for the packaging but for the coverage. (FYI, if the darkness on your lids is due to lack of sleep, you could try using an eye-safe cream that contains vitamin K - it should help to clear up the blood that’s pooled in your capillaries.) I really sincerely thank you for investing in all the new concealers and doing real demos and wear-tests. I truly value your opinion (and if you link works for Canada, I will use it). I hope you have a great day.

Good morning Rebecca 🦋 I'm impressed, especially after seeing just the one side done. I've actually been awaiting your review on this and just added the 25N to my Sephora cart (I'm needing a refresh on a few things and that darn sale is just too far away still). 😘 Interesting here in Canada, it seems the Armani Power Fabric Concealer is not to be found (always been a fan of it). Hmmmmm
Oh that’s interesting. I’ll have to look at the Sephora site here. I wonder if there were problems with the new Armani formulation? I need to check that. Note to self. Yes, the sale is way too far away and I am out of my Tatcha toner. I am in toner limbo.

Have you tried an Azalaic acid serum for the pores and redness? It works amazing and I have noticed a big difference. I'm usually into higher end or Korean skincare but Ulta has a brand called Peach Slices and they have an Azalaic acid 10% serum called redness relief and it's only like 20$ with the Ulta coupon I paid 17.50 and I added it into my nightime skincare it goes with everything ingredients wise too and it's really amazing in 2 weeks the pores were better and the redness and darkness started to fade. I noticed it's kinda hard to find Azalaic acid serums but Geek and Georgus and Paula's choice has one too but the *Peach Slices a nicer formula and cheaper then the PC one.

On a side note speaking of tired, I have started talking to a guy and we get along fabulously but he and I talk for hours!!! Last night it was 3 hours and 45 minutes. Whitney! It must be part of the British stiff upper lip! Concealer to conceal any sort of displeasure or weakness. It’s a stalwart concealer!
The result is great! I cannot stand my Lancome concealer anymore, it just doesn’t cover anything. I have ordered this one, but I am not sure about the color.. we will see
I think as long as you’re in the area with a colour, on a concealer it won’t matter that much. I do agree with you about Lancôme. These new developments in formulation are really helpful.
Rebecca, can you tell me the colors you’re wearing in shade of Gucci foundation, blush and lipstick? Also what are wearing on your eyes? Your makeup looks great and, again love the color top you have on. The color is my favorite and makes your eyes pop.

I used it less. Sigh. Three complaints logged about the music. But I get a lot of comments so it could have been the same person on three different videos.

🌸That packaging had me running to pick it up. It looks fantastic on you. On me, with extremely dry skin, it just looked like a dry, crumbly, wrinkly disaster. This is fun! I’m on a Gucci binge haha… so I have to ask if I can declutter my Hourglass and try the Gucci instead? I genuinely never liked the hourglass because it feels like way, way too much product in the application and unnatural coverage. It fights with me.

Gucci is a good trade up on this concealer and on foundation. On blush I would still go with hourglass. So it’s a case by case basis ha ha

The coverage on the Gucci concealer looks very impressive (it would need to be to cover MY dark pits of despair 😉) and it looks lovely and smooth and seamless on your skin. I may take a second look after all! What deters me is trying to choose a shade online as I've heard a few people mentioning the undertones being off i.e. shades within the same tonal family having totally different undertones. If it looks as good on me as it does on you though, I'm in!
Well you are just the loveliest person and you have made my day. Thank you so very much. Yes. The undertones are weird as can be. Look at those two neutral shades that I chose. They are one shade apart and couldn’t be any more different. Very strange but, thankfully, we can get away with a lot with concealer that we can’t get away with in an inaccurate foundation.

At least if the undertone of a concealer is a little off then it might be useful as a corrector instead...or blended with another concealer that leans on the opposite side of the tonal spectrum. I'm less picky about concealer shades too as you can usually make them work within reason and with a bit of work. 😉
I'd be interested to know if you have an opinion on which concealer you prefer between the Gucci and Haus Labs or if it's just too close to compare. We seem to have similar preferences on the concealer spectrum (I also hate the Pat McGrath but am partial to the Armani Power Fabric!)

I prefer Haus for a creamier thicker feeling and with the Haus foundation and Gucci for a thinner less makeup feeling and with the Gucci foundation@@LolaNewLeaf

I was thinking of trying the Haus labs one but I’ve been loving the Natasha Denona concealer in Peach 1 of all the brands! Both the color and formulation - not too thick or too thin. 🩷 I have the same dark pits of despair. Let’s organize a sleep club next! Then we won’t need concealer😂
