  • How to remove and refit the Landrover Discovery1 Alpine window (at the rear top/sides) and the rubber seal.
Mostly you need to do this in order to treat corrosion that occurs on the lower edge around this window due to no sealant being used when it was fitted.
It is only mentioned briefly in the video, but on refitting put some black polymer type sealant into the rubber seal where it meets the metal and that lower edge corrosion should be a thing of the past.
Also look out for my other videos in a few days about doing the paint touch up, priming and spraying etc in order to treat that corrosion and smarten up your Discovery 1. Plus another about replacing the rear side window rubber seals (they split with age). Oh and one more coming about renovating those rubber door window seals where the internal Ali insert corrodes at the back and bubbles up the rubber.

Black polymer sealant. Check on eBay, lots of different makes, but the key word is polymer.

Smashing a window is the usual quick route. Either way the ultrasonic volume sensing alarm will be set off.
