Personally, I like Pocket. I've tried to play the official TCG game but I still don't have enough info to fully understand it. Like it feels a bit overwhelming even when I was younger in the past. I'm not the best strategist and can't come up with a new plan on the fly and still get lost on some of the rules but I feel that Pocket allows me to understand the game in a simpler form. Now all we need is for the TFG game to get revived again whether it be another attempt of Pokémon Duel or physically.
I've started with Pocket, but tomorrow I will go to my local fantasy store and get myself a "My first Battle" for the actual TCG. Now I just need some real life friends to play with lol

It's wild to me pokemon made a whole new app just for micro transactions even tho pockets much better suited as a game mode within live IMHO. It's still lacking tournament play as well.
The switch from TCGO to Live was so bad I stopped playing Pokemon. I stopped buying Pokemon cards. And when I saw Pocket I realized I was never coming back. Sad.
Not using real cards is a deal breaker for pocket. Half the fun is collecting cards that exist so you have reference for what’s rare and it simulates pulling real boosters. Pocket making up cards adds a sense of inauthenticity, your collecting virtual made up cards like any indie card collecting game
Pocket is very old school rules mixed with new "style". Research is just Bill now, CharizardEx is Base Charizard with better energy requirements. That should explain all. Also, It is jus Pokémon printing more money and splitting in the face of the TCG community. I think it is BS. Also, that's a very dumb take on live. I don't think they did it right. Trading should be back to how it used to, and you can buy crystals in some places (jus vpn). It is a monetized game they just removed it mostly by taking real trading away.
Well Yugioh is a good example of what happens to card games when they don't do set rotations. So unless they want to repeat the problems, I'd imagine Pocket will start doing rotations eventually. Once there are decent number of expansion sets out, of course,
i am new in the world of Trading card game. i played tcg live before but i deleted the game right after my first match well, it confused me alot good thing that there is a simple version of itm
I prefer pocket (but no hate on live. Im glad people who prefer the more competitive side have something to play too) but god damn i wish it had a desktop client like live does. I love the slow collecting, and as someone who isnt hardcore into pokemon, i love the simplified battles. I just wish i didnt have to fuck my phone battery in the ground to play it. Hopefully it gets released onto GPG some time in 2025
This is a great video detailing the differences between the games. 100% sending this to any of my friends wondering if they should get into Pocket or Live and then telling them Live is better you get usable stuff for free there and in pocket it's "ooooo shiny"
Insert Golden Castle of Stromberg "Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you must banish 10 cards from the top of your Deck face-down (this is not optional), or this card is destroyed. During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck that specifically lists the card "Golden Castle of Stromberg" in its text. You cannot Normal Summon/Set the turn you activate this effect (even if this card leaves the field). You can only use this effect of "Golden Castle of Stromberg" once per turn. When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy the attacking monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK that monster had on the field." I've had people trigger this 3 times back to back before actually reading it
I hate Pocket so much, and its because its really good (not battling or microtransactions, hate that a lot). The cards look better fidelity-wise, fps is better, the pack having a chance for god packs is better, ect. And now there's a second, un-combinable digital collection, separate from live? The cards are digital only? I could not care less if they paid me $50,000,000. Live has integrity, but needs the budget of Pocket. The fact they didn't just update live to have all the best parts of pocket is so pokemon coded. Pokemon is the king of painfully missing the mark and avoiding slam dunks like the plague. Stupid company run by stupid money grubbing assholes.
First off I realize that you're not a Yu Gi Oh Channel and I also Realized that at Least on Other had made this sort of Comment but I would like to Expand on it a Little. Anyways it sounds like Pokemon Pocket is like the Equivalent to Yu Gi Oh Dual Links as they both are the Watered Down Version of the Actual Respective Card Games. But with the Deferent that with Dual Links it Still Focuses on the Game Play but with just a Simpler Form of of the Yu Gi Oh Card Game with an Added Element to it in the form of Skill Cards. Instead of the Card Opening Aspect of it, Yes it still has that but You Don't Feel like that's what the App is all about, if you don't want to. And Pokemon Live is Much Like Yu Gi Oh Master Dual as they're Both are the Digital Version of their Respective Card Games.
Pocket is good for collection and looking at pretty cards, Live is for actually playing the game. The game is already easy enough to get into IMO, especially compared to games like Yu-gi-oh and Magic, dumbing it down feels like a baby mode instead of a "let them fail and learn" approach. I did learn through TCGO tutorial and Live doesn't have something like that so I see how it could be harder, you can only practice against random opponents, you get matched up against someone who has played for a couple years, get smoked, and have no idea why. but do you really want the pokemon TCG equivalent of tiktok teaching you a version that's pretty far removed from the actual game? I think they should have just added a better tutorial to Live. I miss TCGO, the market was a MESS but it was a really good way to start and get better at PTCG. Live just needs some campaign or some decent PvE fights and it could very well make battling on pocket obsolete even for newcomers and make it a little bit better of a successor to Online. (RIP Zach, gone but not forgotten)

When are they gonna open up Expanded for more sun and moon cards or even XY cards. I miss break cards too.
We've been waiting 3 years for Expanded in Live.
Guys can we get the carda from live to pocket? Or do j have to start from the beginning with pocket?
i find that it is easier for me to collect more cards on live than the pocket
I never liked any kind of TCG in my life, but Pocket TCG I really like it
but can you trade??
Pocket is very old school rules mixed with new "style". Research is just Bill now, CharizardEx is Base Charizard with better energy requirements. That should explain all.
Also, It is jus Pokémon printing more money and splitting in the face of the TCG community.
I think it is BS. Also, that's a very dumb take on live. I don't think they did it right. Trading should be back to how it used to, and you can buy crystals in some places (jus vpn).
It is a monetized game they just removed it mostly by taking real trading away.
Not people pretending like they never hated ptcg live since it came out
Miss your gameplay video, pilot
#BlamePTCGP
I wonder if that means pocket won't have set rotations if so than it's already better than live😂
Well Yugioh is a good example of what happens to card games when they don't do set rotations. So unless they want to repeat the problems, I'd imagine Pocket will start doing rotations eventually. Once there are decent number of expansion sets out, of course,
@Xynth22 Yugioh doesn't have a no rotation problem it has a konami problem
@@rokmare I'd say both are problems.
i am new in the world of Trading card game.
i played tcg live before but i deleted the game right after my first match well, it confused me alot good thing that there is a simple version of itm
Misty op, my opponent got 13 energies
Looking forward to playing pocket, hope the store doesn't get very abusive
So basically it's the pokemon equivalent of Yu-Gi-Oh duel links.
Hopefully it gets released onto GPG some time in 2025
I like tcg live but I dont like the new cards. BUT if LIVE gets CPU battle at some point, I will come back and play it again
Do both games allow you to use your code cards for Packs in game?
Sorry if this was already stated in the video, I didnt catch it if it was.
Just Live.
For me TCG pocket feels like 50% of TCG LIve
This is a great video detailing the differences between the games. 100% sending this to any of my friends wondering if they should get into Pocket or Live and then telling them Live is better you get usable stuff for free there and in pocket it's "ooooo shiny"
Interesting, I never play pokemon tcg and just starting with pocket now.
live is just more fun
Too much text? try reading YGO card text xD
Insert Golden Castle of Stromberg
"Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you must banish 10 cards from the top of your Deck face-down (this is not optional), or this card is destroyed. When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy the attacking monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK that monster had on the field."
I've had people trigger this 3 times back to back before actually reading it
so if i don't buy pokemon cards in real life can i still play livee?
Yes. It's very easy to get started in Live and there's no micro-transactions - ua-cam.com/play/PL7aWMdyM6cCNR07bSxsUsTPIWei7NZHB7.html
Can I play real physical cards using TCG pocket rules?
No if you mean an in person event.
I spent on live haw do I get my deck to pocket with out starting a new
I wonder if i can be f2p in both game ?
So Pocket is Duel Links
I hate Pocket so much, and its because its really good (not battling or microtransactions, hate that a lot). The cards look better fidelity-wise, fps is better, the pack having a chance for god packs is better, ect. And now there's a second, un-combinable digital collection, separate from live? The cards are digital only? I could not care less if they paid me $50,000,000. Live has integrity, but needs the budget of Pocket. The fact they didn't just update live to have all the best parts of pocket is so pokemon coded. Pokemon is the king of painfully missing the mark and avoiding slam dunks like the plague. Stupid company run by stupid money grubbing assholes.
anyone else not able to login using the right info? And even now I can’t get emails for verification codes when trying to reset my password.
I wish they make the avatar less horrific to look at.😂
How greedy the companies that own these two applications are.😂
Pocket is good for collection and looking at pretty cards, Live is for actually playing the game.
(RIP Zach, gone but not forgotten)
i wish there was a middle finger emot for live
Pocket is way better imo
if only live could get mony,it will be better
It would take so much time to make a current deck as a new player in live it’s very off putting
Live is better
At least pocket works on my phone, live on my pc stopped working from day to night and the support couldn't help even with the error code lol
Live reminds of the Game boy color TCG.
Pokemon pocket tcg is just for collecting beautiful pokemon cards😂
The battle is boring asf
I have a job and start college soon. I don't have time to learn TCG Live. TCG Pocket is low stakes. Not a time suck like Magic Arena or TCG Live.
Both are so bad I wish they updated the old tcg online instead
pocket has the worst monetizaiton and incentive i have ever seen in my life
i prefer pocket for easy tuts to play the game
Hope to play this game soon! We'd like to make a video about this! Are u interested in collaboration?
they target is casual ppl~
