Thank god everyone came back . We got caught in the bay of Biscay last November en route to the Caribbean and we are going across the Pacific to the Hawaiin islands this January 2024 so have booked a room midship just incase it's rough ! Love cruising and watching lightning storms out at sea 🌊 it makes you feel alive ❤
Why stay in a cabin amidships? I'd want to be right up front on the outside where you can really feel the swell to the maximum! I wish someone would make a bed that moves like a boat on a lovely heaving swell, that would be awesome.
Why are they apologising?! It should be rough on a cruise, that makes it more of an adventure, and isn't rough weather a "force majure" event which the operators can't be held responsible for, isn't there a disclaimer to that effect somewhere in the terms?

Imagine the moaning on a sail ship. It’s the ocean people, calm one day, walls of waves the next. Solution? DON’T GO ON A CRUISE, IT’S THAT EASY.
Crossed the bay of biscay a few times & have been lucky every time. Crossing the Atlantic next year so that may be a different story.
It's NOT the 1st time something like this has happened with saga! a few yrs back my late in laws were on a crusie by them coming back to south hampton and the same sort of thing happend loads of folks injured ect and the ship Finaly docked somwhere in france and rode out the rest of the storm and was delayed by 2 days coming back to the uk ....ALSO of note is Saga cruises are for folks over 50 only BUT tend to have a LOT of passengers in thier 70s and 80s ..so it begs the question as they mainy carry elderly cruisers who have medical problems are older and more frigile shall we say WHY the hell they carried on sailing into the storm!
Well I still trust them. You really need to get your facts yet. Yes it was bad and we was all looked after very scary they wouldn’t let us dock so what could be done

Cruise ships aren't designed for that weather ,top heavy .Not like ocean going liners The Cunard sisters for example

I was in this storm as well on another ship. It was brutal
Yes we were on Iona and it was very rocky although instead of trying to get ahead of the storm we sat behind it but even then it was brutal!
Cruise ships not saposh to sailing at this storms,now on the other head Gargos and tankers they big difference 4:22 never stop traveling doesn't matter the weather cruise ships is no no
It's the sea. I have been on the old Queen Mary and the QE2 in worse seas than that. This will not stop me booking with Saga, it's what happens because sadly neither Elon Musk, Geoff Bezos nor anyone else can control nature.
