- Attorney John Phillips represents the family of Sierra Trumble, an 18-year-old who was injured when a beach patrol vehicle struck her and a friend on Memorial Day.
Lawsuit all the way
I ve got an idea….no vehicles on the beach!
It’s a civil case so she should sue for that!
Sue for everything they can!!!!
Negligence is criminal.
i got jumped by 4 people in daytona and police didnt do anything because they said i should have just ran away they corrupt all the way here carry a gun if you come to daytona.
I lived in daytona Beach for a decade, not long ago. Partied hard every weekend. Never had an issue with police or criminals. I didn't hear of any body being jumped. And I worked somewhere that had 300 employees.
Shameful on the Daytona Police Department. Hope they sue the arrogant bastards. I have been in beaches all over the world and trust me Daytona Beach is far from being the "Most Beautiful". It does not even come close to the beaches in Brazil, France, Italy, , Mexico, Tahiti, Cuba or even the beaches on the West Coast. It is an oversold and overcrowded nasty little beach, that's all.
Right!! I always considered Daytona’s beach to be rather trashy!
Beautiful or not is NOT what happened....
Should of been fired and they should press charges against lifeguard and they should sue everyone.
YOU…..should HAVE…learned ENGLISH!!!
The vehicle is far too high with many blind spots. It could have been much worse but these patrols should have been done in a low riding sand buggy. If he retired from the patrol, it means two things. He felt a culpability and thought firing was a possibility AND he retired with his pension intact.
If you watched the video, it said he gave notice 2 days before the incident. 1:45
Somebody needs to pay for medical treatment and some type of compensation too.
Negligent assault or reckless endangerment, take your pick. The driver wasn't using the designated roadway, and ran over two people. You would face charges for driving on the sidewalk and hitting two people, the same laws should apply, at minimal, in this situation. The same laws apply to the streets, or the beach, as far as D.U.I.'s, Reckless driving, etc. We always need to hold those we are supposed to look up to, to a much higher standard. Instead they threw these two "Teens" under the proverbial bus. There seems to be more than a few, in this particular department, that are not who we want to put our trust in. Do better.
How did he not see them?
Exactly. What BS
Did he get a breathalyzer.?
“We don’t need no STINKIN’ LANES!!!”
The beaches there look nasty to me..
Agreed, that's the nastiest I have ever seen that beach. I mean it's high tide too so that doesn't help.
They are. Visited Daytona Beach for the first and last time a few years ago. It’s nasty. Dirty with more homeless people than I’ve ever seen.
@@doghouse583 if Daytona Beach has the most homeless people you have ever seen you don't get out much.
@@sublime929 I guess not. 🤷🏻♀️
Civil lawsuit against him individually and against the city, for not properly training him how to drive.
I'm surprised police didn't arrest and charge the victims for damaging their police vehicle...
Shouldn't be a lifeguard if you can't spot someone lying on the beach how the hell you going to see someone in the water
I thought it was going to be a dune buggy or something, but a F150!!!
As a Canadian in Niagara Falls, back then Daytona Beach was associated with the Daytona racetrack, having big NASCAR races. I avoid NASCAR themed destinations.
a traffic ticket?
sweet so humans are legally just road obstacles now?
guess it's time to go for a ride.
wtf???? seriously? what even is society anymore?
it's not even some random illegal immigrant we can't do anything about, hes an employee there, breaking the rules of the worksite, thus injuring innocents...and we're just, gonna let him go and get away with that?.... incredible.
They’re about to get paid big by the county. Unreal.
Maybe the driver was drunk such that he didn't see the girls?
This was foreseeable. All the studies showing the tall hood on modern pickups and SUVs can hide small kids (and people laying on the ground) from the driver's view for a great (more than safe) distance.
He should have been fired. Why are they driving on the beach anyway? Any beach I was on has never had vehicles on them.
Take it to the District Attorney this is a crime!
This is why I'm glad I don't run this country this guy would never be allowed to drive again if you can't see people on the beach while driving more than what can he see while he's on the road he has hurt somebody he should be held accountable it should not be a traffic ticket this is our country in backwards motion.
Sue the stupid lifeguard for attempted murder !
Im surprised this doesnt happen in TX every beach is considered a road there.
Something strange here. Like drugs or alcohol
COME ON MAN really a traffic ticket on the beach for a SPEED BUMP things are changing to fast these days
Jeez, l thought it was a utv, not a full size truck.
WTF!
What's it going to take to get these bootlickers to recognize there are no rules for U.S. commercial cops, fore foghters, hospital personal anyone thay works for the U.S. corporation.
Not every incident is a criminal offense !! It was just a vehicle -vs- pedestrian accident !!
You’re not very bright. Do you think someone being hit on a sidewalk because a driver decided to use it as a shortcut is just an accident?
I sure hope you don’t have dependents.
So it’s OK for ANYONE to drive ON THE SIDEWALK? You’re RETARDED!!!
What a beautiful beach. Fence posts all over the place with high speed vehicles. Was that high tide? Why would anybody go there? Lol.
Florida!
Beach?Wheres the beach? The sand at low tide is not very wide. The emergency lane is half the width of the whole beach. Why don’t they get buggies instead of full sized trucks?
He should've got in trouble
When I hear ludacris BS like this happening I just have to remind myself it's in Florida.
shielded
government protects government
Interesting precedent. This will be great if it can set someone free from prison for a wrongful conviction.
Negligent. $$$$$$$
sue sue sue
Oh She Axed for it
With that logic, guess it’s okay to drive on the sidewalks! 🤪
