Epson Workforce 7720 Head Removal for Replacement or cleaning. One handed.

  • Sorry for the shaky vid, was under a table and had to do with one hand.
    This 7720 is converted for sublimation. Every so often the factory cleanings dont work to get clean test prints so this is always my last resort. Exercise caution, use 2 hands, and dont rush.
    To those who want to know, yes it worked. I had a few missing spots on black but a few cleanings after gave me perfect results.
    Enjoy.
    sorry for the f bombs.

I saw a short message come on the screen for a sec and pop off. It said, Do not....then it popped off before I could read the rest. Now my printer want turn back on, smh.

Did 2 more cleanings & let it sit, tried again & its finally faint. Ive used almost a whole cartridge of black but its not showing on paper. Any suggestions? No errors are showing.

      It could. Error code 031008 is for wonky ink cartridges or print head. If the seller sold it to you new i would request a return. Its likely they didnt set something up right. Did they do a test print for you before you bought it?

    Great video! Buuuttt do you have a video on putting everything back lol, the video was very easy to follow but I'm having a hard time with the cables and ink snapping back in. I set everything back in the correct way but keep getting error code. I would say my biggest issue is the cables trying to place them back in, don't seem like they are sitting the same way as before. And ink is not snapping back in I've watched video probably more then 5 times lol I'm going to give it another try now. Thanks for all your help! I would say I lost two screws lol and tweezers helps while handling screws.

    • @nonnamomma8673
      @nonnamomma8673 2 роки тому

      Ok sooooo I didn't put the front piece in that lines the back of the ink in, so I went back to do that and still an error code. My guess is the cables, I'm not sure if they have to be sitting in the same way but I did try my best. The cables are in there correct slot.

      @suzee5212 2 роки тому

      @@clearcutmethod at 14:47 its at the bottom right of the screen. To the left side there is a black sponge with pink and yellow ink marks and on the right is a big L shaped white thing. do you know what would cause that to be very dirty? Im doing research because Im getting a line of ink on my 13x19 prints. when I print 11x17 they are totally clean.

    • @clearcutmethod
      @clearcutmethod  2 роки тому +1

      @@suzee5212 Ahh. Ok yes. Those colored sponge things are called a capping station. When you run a cleaning or when your print head is just hanging out, the head sits on top of that. During a cleaning, it sucks ink from the heads, through the capping station, into a maintenance box. Which is basically just another giant sponge that soaks up the ink from the cleaning purge. My guess is that your maintenance box is beyond full, and its backing up in the capping station. And every time the print head moves over it, it flicks ink onto the white part. Ink flicks could be also be reaching the roller/feed area for larger prints when the head moves in the opposite direction. I would check how full the maintenance box is in your printer cleaning settings. If you do need to change the box, it will be messy, especially if it is that full. Once you do that, you should be able to run a few head cleanings and few roller cleanings, and im guessing it should be ok. Hard to know without seeing it though. good luck!

    • @suzee5212
      @suzee5212 2 роки тому +2

      @@clearcutmethod Thanks so much. We got a message like month ago that the Maintenance Tank was full so we got a new one. Maybe I just need to clean this area up and things will be ok?

    • @clearcutmethod
      @clearcutmethod  2 роки тому +1

      @@suzee5212 Yea, ecosolvent/solvent inks (which is what sublimation inks are) tend to have a longer dry time when not absorbed by paper. When you clean the little white bracket, if you get some on your hands, youll notice its probably a bit oily. Thats the solvent. It eventually will evaporate and dry, but it takes a while. Ink is probably pooled somewhere nearby and keeps picking it up on the rollers. Definitely clean it up and give your rollers some good wipe downs too. Then run a roller cleaning in the settings. =)
