    Double DRAT! I didn’t show where the gps is located. It’s right at the back behind the rear light.

      Hi Steve, Any chance of a photo showing the GPS and is it not affected by a top box. Great video and very concise. I purchased one at the London Bike show but haven't fitted it yet to my 1200GS but your video makes it far easier.

    The reason the -ve comes off first and goes on last is simple. With the -ve off, if your screwdriver accidentally touches the frame when undoing/tightening the +ve there's no path back to the -ve terminal of the battery through the frame, so there's no short circuit. If -ve is still connected and you accidentally make a connection to the frame when touching the +ve terminal then you'll get a direct short and bad things happen.
    Forget about "putting things on" and "taking things off" and just think "if I'm touching the +ve terminal then the -ve should already be disconnected"

    Just used your video help to me install the K2 on my 2019 r1250gs, thanks so much your explanation/video was very helpful! I finished up yesterday mounting the cameras in the positions you used in the video (except in the front I did mount to the side so that I can get the wind screen in the full down position). Last night I was laying in bed thinking about the installation when I thought "I hope the rear camera doesn't interfere with my Vario side bag mounting!". Just went out and mounted the side bag and it is like the camera was made to fit with the bag mounted! Fits snugly between the bag and the bike making the camera even less obvious. Thanks again for your good work!

    Fitted my cameras yesterday on my new GS which I haven't even ridden yet so I was very apprehensive of taking my bike apart.
    With my laptop in the garage and following your step by step guide I managed a very neat installation. Thank you very much.
    I just need to find the best place for the gps.

    Thanks for posting such a comprehensive guide, it's very much appreciated. I'd also appreciate your advice on whether you can see any problems with powering the unit from the accessory socket on my R1250r. The power socket on my bike is below the seat and I have no need to use it for anything else, as I have an adapter on the bmw satnav base which gives me 2 usb outlets for my phone etc.
    What I propose to do is relocate the power socket from the side panel to underneath the seat with my Powerlet usb adapter plugged in and micro usb cable to provide power to the dvr. The socket is only powered when the bike is on, so I'm hoping this will eliminate the need for the DC converter/transformer. I like the idea of not having more connections to the battery and keeping more of the hardware and wiring under the pillion seat.

    Instead of a Posi-tap like you’ve shown, what about a fuse tap with the 7.5A fuse instead?

    Hi, I installed the Innovv K2. Red cable to the plus and the black to the negative. The yellow cable also connected to the correct location. When I turn off the bike the DVR turns off after 30 seconds. Only the DC converter light remains on. Is this how it should be? and does this have consequences my battery?

      Ok, spoken to Innovv and from I'm hearing there's no point in asking North Oxford Garage. They only ever installed a handful so maybe it's something they're doing wrong their end and they didn't ask for any support from Innovv. I get techie issues every day from customers and I try to give them the solution but it needs to begin with the customer asking me. I know for a fact my local dealer fit them (Wollaston) and Wollaston own North Oxford garage. I'm also aware of other BMW motorrad dealers who supply and fit them too. Obviously none of them do as good as job as me 😉. But maybe draw your own conclusion after checking out Trust Pilot reviews uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.innovv.co.uk

    Anyone else have issues with vibration on the front camera when installing where Steve did?
    I have a R1250GS and I'm going to have to move the camera. Unfortunately, I installed it when the bike was disassembled and ran the camera wire with all the other wires from the lights. I even ran everything under the tank! The camera body is too wide to fit in the gap between the windshield and the headlight so looks like I'm disassembling everything just to free up the connection part of the wire so I can remove it from it's current location.

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  3 роки тому

      I feel your pain here. I nice mod for innovv would be to make a connection point both ends like denali do for lights. Let’s see what innovv do on future models which are under development

    Hey Steve, I was wondering. Would it be possible to install the rear facing camera somewhere above the dashboard, behind the windscreen (facing to the rear obviously)?
    From that front position and given that the INNOV has a wide field of view, would it (rear camera) be able to record the rider as well as what is coming up from behind him?
    When used as evidence I suppose it would benefit the rider to actually show what he/she was doing if hit from behind, plus the benefit of the camera recording the entire bike if tampered with when parked. Your thoughts?

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  3 роки тому

      Wide field sure but the rider is still going to block some serious space. Makes for an interesting 3 cam system though. I’ll feed this back
