  • After the success and popularity of the previous video where I stripped a GS down screw by screw, I have had high demand from subscribers for another video but in reverse. Here it is.

    What I did to make sure I did not screw up with the screw placement, is next to each whole I put a piece of masking tape and noted a unique number on each piece. I then took a piece of cardboard and listed all the numbers and put a small hole through the cardboard. As I took off the screws, I placed in the corresponding whole. Worked great, no issues with wondering which screw went where.

    Loved the video. Dropped an Allen wrench down into my GS while adjusting a Quad Lock mount. You video saved my sanity when I pulled the panels to retrieve the wrench. One question, where does the single odd size shoulderless screw go?

    I like your videos and i also have a 1250gs rallye but as soon as i see someone use a driver to do up screws without finger starting them first i wince every time. It’s the engineer in me but i would love to see that attention to detail. Keep the videos coming and if you need any advice on the condensation issues with the ammoguard then get in touch

    Great video Steve and thanks a tonne for doing this. Is the 1250 similar to the 1200 in terms of taking it apart and putting it back to gether again? I ride a 1200 so just want to know before taking it apart.

    @abikething Is it possible to route the harness over the tank on the GS, under the cap fairing?

    How come you didn’t give us a video for the ktm. You’ve done bmw quite a few times. Was wondering if the ktm would be done anytime soon.

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  2 роки тому +1

      This is mainly due to killing 2 birds with one stone. The bikes used in the video is in for work to be done. I didn’t video my own KTM when I was stripping it down and studying the workshop manual. I could write off half a day and pull my bike out and do this but I don’t have that luxury. I have my first KTMs booked in April and May so ill be using these for that video. I tend to be booked up 3 to 4 months in advance with bikes hence I haven’t had a customers
      KTM in here since I officially released the ezCAN for the KTM and it’s then when KTM owners started to book their bikes in with me.

    the fact that you have to expalin each and every time which bars you mean, just goes to show that perhaps you should find something else to call us, other than inmates behind bars 😅

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  2 роки тому

      Currently new 600+ subscribers arriving to the Chanel every month. Before I started explaining which bars I had to reply to countless messages like Why does he calls us inmates and is this guy an ex convict? The quick intro is a little bit of a trademark and branding if you like. “Not these bars……These bars !!!!” I’ve learnt to never assume everyone watching has seen me before.

    Ymmm.. Check the one of nose screw. On Your last video (strip r1250gs), on 9:56 you unscrew shoulderless screw, now i talk to put in shoulder screw. So what?
    On this video 21:30 , on old video 9:53. On this video is whith shoulder, on old without.

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  2 роки тому

      I have just checked 9.56 on the older strip down video and the screw you are referring to is shoulderless and it's shoulderless on this video too at 18:07. No difference so im not sure what you're on about.

      @@MurgalPL AH yes I see. That tells me the screw that came out of that bike on the older video had been taken apart previously and the wrong screw had been put back. I've taken dozens of GS's apart and the screw in that particular spot is supposed to be shouldered. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it before now. Nice spot
