- Today I am showing you my guide to buying old beater cars. This is a good baseline for car shopping in general. don't get taken advantage of when buying a gently used car or an old abused beater. I show how to check oil, transmission and coolant when buying a car. what to look for for frame rot and how to not let the aesthetic look of a car keep you from buying one. I tell you who to buy these used cars from and why you should want to own one. You could be saving thousands over your lifetime through my tried and true system of buying old junk cars. Whether you're an environmentalist or just a miser with your money there's a car for you. #chevy #ford #gmc #kia #honda #toyota #automobile #automotive #car #auto #classic #junkyard #guide #howto #how #mercedes #jaguar #nissan #information #inflation #biden
A guy found this channel and reminded him of a 2010 Dodge Avenger he hooked his peepers on in an ole craigslist hoopty listing. And I ain't kiddin ya if it was on life support it would've pulled the plug itself. Bought another dodge avenger for 500 bucks to replace all the parts that went bad throughout its life. Got 240,000 miles out of her before she browned the sheets and it was the best box of feces i have ever thrown a dollar at.
I miss old Craigslist. Seems like there were more deals on there
As a daughter who grew up with a father that is a mechanic(professional + hobby) and specializes in purchasing and repairing beaters. This is exactly what my father has told me throughout the years, years of listening to him explain all this, all about car tools and parts. He can quickly fix any toyota, honda, and nissan models. Taught my brothers and I the same.
It's a great skill to have. I've made a few bucks over the years and saved even more. You're lucky to have a dad like that!
@@junkyardjoe1994 Thanks. Instantly subscribed once I heard major facts come out your mouth. Keep up the great work!
The mechanic I used to use, one day looks at me and asks what is it with you and fenders? Every car you bring us has a messed up fenders. I laughed and responded they are cheaper that way.
They're definitely overrated! Haha
Just stumbled onto your channel as a UA-cam recommendation. Great stuff. My Ford rangers have been good beaters.
Thanks for watching! It's quite a lifestyle haha
Great advice! You may be leading a new lifestyle choice haha
Excellent video! You’ve got wisdom above your age, thanks for sharing it.
This guy beaters. Every single one of these points are spot on. I buy beaters to fix and resell. Late 90's early 00's gm cars are junk but reliable. I swear they make great engines and transmissions solely to stuff them in the biggest pile of shit they could manufacture. 90's toyota cars will out last your grand kids. I like to do 97 or older 2.3 5 speed rangers but theyre getting rare. Im a ford guy but theres not many of them that make good beaters. 97-01 explorers are great if they have a 5.0. As stated, avoid any chrysler product. Ive never bought a vehicle from a teenager that didnt require an entire weekend of unfucking their repairs and "mods".
Sounds like we're like minded individuals! Thanks for watching!

Hey thank you! I'm really close to a thousand. Thank you for subscribing
Any advice for someone looking for a "beater" off road vehicle? Most of the same stuff hold true?
My advice would be to buy one that's not been a woods truck or a trail truck yet unless it's really built, a crazy good deal or you know and trust the person selling it. You wanna do the first beatings yourself. They tend to be way more abused than the usual beaters vehicles.
Particular vehicles that are good for this? An I asking for trouble with an older jeep? Love the channel! Keep it up!
@@theunbeardedbrother I wouldn't be scared of anything with the straight six. Just watch out on the frames and unibodies of those. They're majorly prone to rust. And thank you I appreciate it!
