This was a fun adventure! I was a summer deputy for the Valley county sheriff's department in 1983 and I patrolled the Fort Peck Dam and surrounding areas. Lots of fun and it was helpful that I spent a lot of years camping and fishing that area. Thanks for the chance to remember.

Well done video. My backyard playground… You do your homework and wonderful documentation My son his wife and grandson live and work in Ft Peck Glasgow MT known as the Middle of Nowhere…, Thanks again great work
Wow Mark! Why haven't I heard of that lake/ dam before? You have a habit of showing us stuff we never saw before which is why I'm a subscriber. Thanks again!
What a great video and I love the old pictures! It makes you wonder if we could accomplish projects like this anymore. Heck we can't even get California to build a desalinization plant when it is a glaring need.
Extremely interesting video! Sorry we couldn’t make the premiere. We were outside enjoying the nice weather and forgot! Btw - those onion rings looked very yummy!
great video; as a local you did a very good job, both my grandfather a dredge super. and my great uncle a cat operator worked there. both families lived in wheeler. my uncle was at the sluff off and lived.
This was so interesting. Right up my alley as I am involved in this line of work. Technology did not change much since then. In fact in our operations a lot of equipment is circa 1940s-1970s and running still.
Nice video Marc, The Mountain West will always be my favorite place to visit & explore. I saw 4 unattended RV's have the awning ripped off by surprise winds in Utah. People should always take them in before leaving. And don't trust those automatic awning to take them in if it gets windy. JT
Very cool history of Fort Peck and the dam. I think between the two campgrounds, I would have opted for the downstream one with all the shade. It just looked nicer. Thank you Marc, Ram 👍🏼👍🏽
I absolutely love your Chanel. You do such a wonderful job at highlighting the areas you visit. Every episode feels like a documentary from the Travel Chanel.
Very good history lesson. It brought back many memories of my two month visit to Montana in 2020. I started in Poplar and headed west or route 2 to Glacier NP. Then zig zaged south to Yellowstone NP. Great video!!!
I just have to share our story of Glasgow. We were on our way back home from family in WI and MN and I didn’t want to take the 94 again (remember my fam is from ND) so thought we could take the 2. It also gave us the opportunity to go to the aviation museum in Minot. So, little did we realize that they were doing construction on the 2 and RVs weren’t advised. And I’m driving. Got some stares from the construction workers that inferred, “What the hell are you doing here?!?” But we made it just fine to Glasgow. The next day we were going to go out to the lake but it rained cats and dogs so unfortunately it was a dvd day. The next day we had to take off for Great Falls as I was still working. Preparing to leave I FELL off the RV steps and injured my knee! Holy crap, what a mess. So thank you for the positive experience. Now I want to go back!
Thanks 👍! Really, we love learning about the places that we're in, so we're doing that anyway, video or not. All we do in the video is share what we've learned ourselves.
Hey terrific! I grew up just south of there at the rest area at the intersection of hwy 200. We fished there constantly at a spot called Nelson Creek. Wasn’t a creek . But big fish!! Northern Pike and walleye.
Very Very interesting Marc, it's just amazing what they could build many years ago with the technology that was available. Nothing like that could be built these days too much red tape, and probably not find enough workers either. Man that fish looked awful good, hope it tasted as good as it looked. Travel safe.
Absolutely great episode on a place we happened across last year. The history is compelling and I have to tell you what a great job you did sharing it! Sorry we had to miss the premiere last night. I keep meaning to tell you also, your new intro is really nice!
Hi Marc...my old stomping grounds there. I had a career setback by having to serve 2 years in army recruiting. We lived in Billings and I covered the eastern half of MT and northern half of WY. The duty sucked....but, of course, the region is nice. Safe travels!!

Thanks Marc. Loved the mini documentary preceding your review of the area and it's amenities. You make it look so inviting. It looked like virtually all the local roads were gravel. Is that correct? Thanks again, Gord
Been awhile ago, but my oldest son would work as a fire fighter etc for the federal government during the summers when he was in college. I thought that was where he worked out of one summer. I texted him and sure enough I was right. I very clearly remember him working in a very remote area of NE Montana, just didn't remember the name.

Enjoyed your video. Just a suggestion, most folks call 'Public Lands' BLM land. Technically, BLM land is incorrect. They are 640,000,000 wonderful glorious acres mostly in the West that are owned by all Americans; you and me. They are indeed 'Public Lands'. BLM only manages this land for us. You're of course correct. Of course as well, it is also correct that "public lands" includes too National Forest lands, National Parks, DoD-managed land, state lands, and others. Referring to those lands as BLM, as opposed to USFS for example, differentiates between the two.
