  • Just a super quick rundown shot with my cellphone of how to export samples from superior drummer with SDSE, and imported to the mimic instrument Editor.

    Thanks, been a while since I used SDSE. Used it long ago with my 2box, but recently got a mimic pro. Always confusing to me the difference between export and render. Saved me trial and error time!

    Thank you for the tuto ! What's your experience about number of layers and samples to have good dynamic and avoid machine gunning ?
    For a snare for exemple, is it better with 21 layers of 6 samples or no need to extract the 127 samples and 40 samples to make 10 layers of 4 samples is ok? Or maybe it's better with 8 or ten sample by layers ?

      I try to get around 11 layers of 9 Round Robins, but itl depend on the amount of samples available in the library you export (some have significantly less).

    Hi, Thanks that´s good tuto. I try with the test version and that let me import a kick drum and a snare and they works very good. But I have a couple of questions. When you buy the licence that includes a reaper liscence? because it seems to be necesary to export the instruments, I want to buy this, but the reaper licence are other 60 dollar more. Thansk for your help my friend!!

      Hello! It doesn't include a Reaper license, but SDSE works with the evaluation version of Reaper.

    Hello there, very nice video!
    I wanna use SDSE to export sounds from EZ Drummer and create TCI Files. I was wondering if SDSE is able to export different microphones at the same time (like Snare Top 1, Snare Top 2, Snare Bottom, Snare OH, Snare Room, etc...) or if it just records the sum of these as one.
    Also, what is the naming system like? Does it separate the WAV files by velocity layer? That would be very useful when creating TCIs.
    Thank you so much for the attention!

      What's up!
      It takes the sum, so however you have it configured in ezdrummer (mics, panning, effects, etc.) That's how it will render. But you could render out a few times, each time disabling different mics; it'd just take a bit longer. I do something similar to rip raw samples as well as preset kit samples. And there's an option in the settings to add velocity to the filename. Check out the options section of this page: www.lustark.com/support?catid=3

      @@ArgonautDrums thank you so much for the help! I got it to work for the most part, but SDSE is not cutting up the exported samples. All I get it a long WAV file with a bunch of hits. Any idea how I can get it to cut it up properly?

      @@JoaoVitor-nq1bu are your settings exactly like mine, and are you hitting render or export?

    Very nice work. Do you have any idea on how to get samples from IK Multimedia Sampletank?

    • @ArgonautDrums
      @ArgonautDrums  Рік тому

      I don't believe sampletank is supported by SDSE. If the samples are wav files, you can just drag them into the mimic editor.

      @@ArgonautDrums They are in pak files

      @ArgonautDrums  Рік тому

      @@randalscandal1588 I'm not familiar with those. You could try copying one and renaming the extension to .zip and see if 7zip will let you open it. If it does, there's still no guarantee the contents inside are .wav files. Chances are it's a proprietary format.

    Can you use this programme to convert 2Box samples?

    • @ArgonautDrums
      @ArgonautDrums  Рік тому

      Hi! It can be used to export samples into the 2box .dsnd format, but it can't convert 2box samples into mimic samples.
      The Dsound Manager tool from Lustark, however, can unpack .dsnd files into individual wav samples that can be used to build mimic instruments.

      According to their site, they support gojira, Luke Holland, Thomas Pridgen, and Tony Royster packs. You can email the developer if there's something not on the list.
